First off - the owner of the business threatened me saying "I know where you live" because he quoted me for 2 guys/4 hours (paid hourly) which ended up turning into an 10 hour move due to him not being prepared and communicating with me, the customer. He stated, “I know where you live” when I said I’m not paying for all the extra cost and 6+ hour move ($90/hr). The movers had no idea what they were walking into. The owner (Chino) never came to look at what needed to be moved or what would be needed. The owner did not provide his movers with any details or enough material for the move. My partner had to go purchase more (on our dime because he’s a con artist). We also paid to have the kitchen packed up, and after 4 hours we ended up doing it our self because of how long it was taking and we had to get to the leasing office. None of that money was returned back to us. Not even a simple apology for his major mess. We also paid to have our tv mounted which didn't happen due to the move being 10 hours long instead of 4 hours. I should have seen the read flags right away - while loading the truck, the owner told his movers to unload the entire truck unless we pay him in FULL upfront. The actual movers are incredibly nice (i would use them if they ever started their own business) and tried to help us any way they could. The owner did not want to get involved until we refused to pay him an extra $270 over what the original charge was..then he can answer your phone call btw - but will yell at you for calling him and blame this, that, and the other over taking accountability like an owner should. We felt so bad for the movers that had to put up with this- we bought them dinner (mind you the move started at 10am) and this was already dinner time (again on our dime but I’m not a cruel person and wouldn’t let anyone go all day without even a lunch or dinner break). We had a lot of damages. Too many to list. Make sure your furniture gets wrapped and padded. My new couch got soaked, tables broken, scratches and dents and plant damage to expensive ones . The owner doesn't seem to care about anyone or their belongings. He couldn't even apologize for the h*** HE caused. I cant see this "business" lasting for long. Thank god. I should have listened to the reviews! So, if you don't want to be threatened about knowing where you live if you don't pay him an amount you never agreed to (amongst everything else), RUN. Run fast in the other direction and use real professionals. He is a con "artist". He’s been sued. I had major damages. I was threatened into paying him more money.

I hired them because they were inexpensive and recommended to me by my friend. The owner Irving Diaz aka “Chino” contacted me right away and sounded professional. I thought it would be an easy move since I had moved most of my apartment already and only had a few large items left. I gave him a list of what I had and made sure to ask if they had tools and items to cover and protect my belongs. He assured me they did. I still went out a plastic wrapped my custom beige linen West Elm couch which cost me $2500 and was only 1 year old so practically brand new and wrapped my green suede chair. Chino, the owner (Irving Diaz) overextended himself and sent very young men to my home to move my items. Before we started, I made sure to explain to them what needed to be moved and how to move the items, I was very specific. Yet they still damaged the couch in its entirety, even after I protested and explained to them how to get the couch out of the apartment and how to get it in the elevator. When I called Chino outraged, he said he would use one of his “contacts” to fix it, but it’s linen, you can’t just reupholster that couch. You can’t strap a patch on it and West Elm does not sell the fabric or reupholster, if you need a new couch, you simply go and buy a new couch. I called him immediately and he was unavailable like in most of the reviews I have read now online. Finally, when he did call me back, only after his kid’s called him first, he tried to say it was somehow my fault, that the elevators in my building were too small. The couch had no problem getting into the building, if his workers would have listened to the instructions, they were given they would have had no problem getting the couch out. Also, he never provided his “workers” with any tools to take apart my bedframe and headboard, so we could not take my headboard or frame with me from my old apartment to my new one. I was assured by Chino and the teens, that he would be dropping tools off and would come with a truck that same day to finish moving the remaining item (my bed minus the mattress), but he never called me back again. Mind you, this was a job was that had been paid for ahead of time, so finish the job you are being paid for! The “teens” simply left my new apartment saying that Chino said he would be coming back with tools and that there wasn’t anything that they could do and that he would be back in about an hour LATEST!!! I called several times and sent several text messages for the next few hours and never heard from him again until the next day. The next day, he gave me some ridiculous story about not having reception and his phone dying. I have an iPhone too. I know what happens when your phone dies, it goes straight to voicemail and does not continue ringing and the texts messages are green, not blue. He is a liar and tells everyone the same stories - its all in the reviews. I had to turn in my keys and had to leave my bedframe there or else I would have been charged an extra day of rent, so this man cost me my new couch, my bed frame and headboard. I am still waiting for the claim from his insurance guy for my couch – we all know that will never come, so I plan on suing him in court. After reading many reviews, it looks like many people have done that. Save yourself the trouble – USE ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY!!!

We recently hired Try-State Movers based on their positive review. It turned out to be a horrible mistake. Here is our unvarnished review. Try-State Movers was inexperienced, careless, negligent, unprofessional and simply destructive. Many of our furniture were severely damaged and scratched. Some of the damage looked like someone used a chisel to chip away chucks of wood from the furniture. This happened when Try-State Movers jammed our furniture through doorways. We found corresponding damage on our doorframes which tie in to the damage to the furniture. We rented 24 U-Haul furniture pads but Try-State Movers only used 8, leaving many of our furniture unprotected. When confronted, they have the audacity to lie to us and say that all the blankets were used. They used brute force to rip out the cushion base on our Stickley Prairie settle. The cushion base is not a removable base but built into the framework of the furniture. As a result, Try-State Movers badly scratch the inside wood panels on the settle, ripped the fabric of the cushion and damage a magnificent piece of furniture. Why would anyone let alone a claimed "professional mover" do such an idiotic, senseless and stupid thing? Our Salamander Geneva media cabinet was wrapped in one of the 8 blankets that Try-State Movers used. However, the furniture was smashed, cracked and broken in many pieces. Clearly, Try-State Movers must have dropped it while they were moving it. Try-State Movers then used the blanket to cover up their damage. Pretty shady, isn't it? Try-State Movers is now disclaiming liability and pushing the blame to "aggressive driving" (in their words) that caused those damages. However, the evidence and footprint of their destructive move is imprinted on our furniture and our doorframe. We are totally disgusted with companies like Try-State Movers - so unprofessional, shady, destructive and irresponsible. Replacement value of these items is about $35,000. We tried calling Irving Diaz and Michelle Diaz but kept getting their voicemails. We left several messages but they never returned any of our calls. They were avoiding us and playing games. The matter is now in the hands of our attorney. Try-State Movers would better fit in the business of demolition, rubbish collection and disposal. This is where they will fit perfectly like a glove.
