This is the worst nightmare during my renovation. I went to Daltile to look for ideas and i saw the marble depot was next to that daltile store. So i went in and had a chat with the owner, who seems very nice. He offered the lowest price among all quotes. I decided to go with him. They didn't show up to install as they said , then i made so many phone calls. Finally, they said they couldn't make it and had to reschedule. In the following day, they are two hours later than the appointment with two broken pieces. They told me it was an accident. So i asked them to install the good pieces. I was waiting inside and found they never came into the house. then i went to see them finding that they were trying the fix and glue the broken pieces. After being caught by me and my contractor, the guy said why not you paid less with the broken pieces. I said it's no way i could do that. They went back and promised to deliver new pieces in five days. They came to my place on the following thursday. When they installed the pieces, they made scratches on my cabinet when they force one piece to drop into between cabinet. the guy said it's normal to have scratches and I was totally shocked. they only spent like 30 mins. After they left, on the following day, my contractor found all problems: sinks are not sealed well. the long marble piece was not systemic. One end is wider than the other end, which made a big gap on one end since they didn't do templates!!! One piece is not sanded well with all marks showing. all edge corners are not matching. Some are sharp, some are round. The worst part is the crew moved my plumbing when they put sink on without telling me. They forgot to put back. When i used my dishwasher and my floor got flooded. When i called the owner, he refused to admit saying his crew is professional and doesn't touch plumbing stuff. My floor is totally cracked with water damage. When i called him about all problems i mentioned above, what he said is it's normal to have problems. I called ten times to ask them come over , but they never be on time. I am still waiting for the owner to repair the uneven end issues. never recommend this store to any one.

Response from Paul's Marble Depot LLC
Half Truths and omissions Customer walked and told me a friend recommended us. Nothing new, as we have not advertised our services past six years and 95% of our business is word of mouth. Our original quote was $9900, she told me there was a competing quote for $8000 and if I could match it. Nope, but we adjusted the price for cash payment, and settled at $9450. She then informed me that she had already selected her slabs at another yard which she would like for us to purchase. We ordered those slabs. All the slabs had cracks running diagonally. She had not noticed the cracks at selection and requested we return and use the nicer slabs in our yard. We did not charge her any additional for handling and returned those slabs. As the truck carrying the kitchen was turning near her house, it hit the curb, the A frame shifted and cracked the big Island top and the sink piece. The idea that we tried to patch up the crack, it did not happen. Since we had additional slabs of the same lot, we immediately cut two slabs and installed within three days the remaining pieces. Since the kitchen was made in two stages, some of the radiuses were not identical. It took us twenty minutes tops to correct that. As regards her complaint on dishwasher connection and water leak, this is spurious. We did not hook up the plumbing, we are not licensed. When customer first mentioned this, I asked her who the plumber was. I mean a licensed plumber would have to be pretty stupid to not connect the dishwasher drain. I several times inquired re the plumber's name. No answer. In between the customer purchased tiles for her master bathroom. It was custom manufactured mosaic that we do here. I get a call Saturday afternoon from her, complaining we have taken all the money for the tile but have delivered only some. So I locate the delivery driver and find out what happened. The tiles were in her garage. If the job is as bad as she says, I challenge her to post pictures of the kitchen counters and of her bathroom tiles and custom flooring. The work is very good, even badly taken pictures cannot hide this.

We went to the showroom and selected the granite and sink on a Sunday - Someone from Marble Depot came to measure the next Tuesday - and the work was done the following Saturday morning. It took between two and three hours. Entire project completed in less than a week from the day we first began the discussion. The installers were courteous, neat, and seemed to know exactly what they were doing. We were about as pleased as we could possibly be - and the finished product makes a tremendous difference in our kitchen. I don't know when or if we have ever had an easier or more positive experience with a home improvement project.
Description of Work: We wanted to have an "L" shaped counter top and sink removed and replaced in our kitchen - the existing counter top and sink was made of corian, which was not in great shape and we were interested in replacing it with granite and a stainless steel sink. We were extremely impressed with the range of choices available at the showroom and in the yard where all the granite and marble is stored. Paul was helpful but did push us into making any decisions quickly and was more than willing to allow us to explore all options. He understood exactly what we wanted to do, was able to provide us with a detailed estimate on the spot. We were amazed at how quickly he was able to arrange measuring and installation.
