Carpenter is the worst company we have ever dealt with. We just bought a house with four central a/c units. One unit is about two years old and the others are older units of varying ages. We called them initially as an annual checkup. The serviceman seems clueless and aloof and never explained the issues much. One unit he said was quite old and prob need to be replaced - yet he filled it with freon and charged for it when it was beyond repair. In addition, our largest unit, which he never mentioned had any issues, later started making some noises and then they stated, "oh yeah that's the transducer and it needs to be replaced for the noise", yet they never mentioned this in person. But most problematically, he checked the other units and he informed us our master bedroom unit was about two years old. That unit had never cooled very well. He stated it should work fine and had no clues to why it wouldn't cool more. $600 bill for basically doing nothing. About two weeks pass and the unit basically stops working. We called Carpenter to come out and they resent the same aloof technician, who states water is accumulating in the pan, but this shouldn't happen, so he cleaned it out and fixed some items and said it shouldn't happen again. My husband spoke with him over the phone as well this time as we were amazed the unit stopped working 2 weeks after the initial comprehensive check up. Yesterday we come back from being out of town for a week, and yet again (literally again, two weeks after he came a second time), the same master bedroom a/c unit is not working. We checked the water pans and there is again water in it. We call Carpenter again, telling them that this is getting ridiculous, they have come twice in a month and the same issue persists. In addition, they have the nerve to charge again when they never did their job the first time! Basically they tell us they will charge every time they come, even if they don't fix the problem, or the problem reoccurs literally the next day! And they refuse to come back out to finish the job without charging a third time. These guys are extremely unprofessional, extortionist, and should never be called or relied upon. They do not know what they are doing and do not stand behind their service at all. I am amazed they are still in business. The least they could have done was come back to fix the issue the third time without charge since the exact same issue w the same unit occurred again! I couldn't warn anyone more about a company.

Harry P Carpenter & Sons installed the Heating and A/C for the previous owner of the house and we have continued to use them. They are great. They are punctual and very professional. I think the price is quite reasonable.
