They are excellent. I have been using them for years, and they actually installed a furnace in my previous home. They are on time, and they call ahead to let you know what time they will arrive. They are clean and reliable, they always let me know if there is a problem. They don't rush their work, even if it's just general maintenance. I have used them for probably 12 years, and I have ever used anyone else. I would recommend them to anyone.

This is a house at 91 Richmond Lane, West Hartford, CT that my daughter and I own. She has been without heat for over a week. The serviceman said it was fixed and again it failed. She paid him $250.00. Friday he came and said that it was the wrong part and she needed to give him another $300 to drive to New Haven and get the right part. She refused and he said they airmailed it to him today. (Monday). He came and tried to put it in. Again it was the wrong part. He said that he would have the right part mailed today from New Haven. I believe this is a scam and I am going to notify the authorities as well as the Better Business Bureau. Meanwhile she is still without heat.West Hartford

**1/13 Update/Resolution** Shortly after posting this review I was contacted by Pete Sagar, Air Temp's Residential General Manager. We discussed my current contractual billing dispute and he agreed to honor their contract at the flat diagnostic rate of $54.00. Mr. Sagar apologized for any inconvenience this had caused and even offered to come out to my home and discuss this issue in person. Mr. Sagar mentioned that although Air Temp's service contract had changed recently, my contract should have been grandfathered since it was accepted with the previous terms. I was impressed regarding Mr. Sagar's professionalism and exemplary customer service. Original Review: Problems with service contract: AirTemp was called because I noticed that the indoor air handler units were making a snapping noise. After 1.25 hours of and quot;diagnosisand quot; the technician determined that it was normal operation (after calling the Mitsubishi tech support line). I was initially sent a bill for 123.75 plus tax. I have a signed service contract (contract cost $125/unit) which clearly indicates $54.00 diagnostic fee, does not indicate hourly fee. However I was charged $99.00/hr, and when I called I was told I had an old contract but they will honor it. New bill arrived, and I was charged 78.75 plus tax. After calling with this bill, I was told then new charge was $54.00 for the first hour then $99.00/hr thereafter, clearly not indicated in the signed contract. They lost my future business over $24.75.

We tried to get estimates from 3 companies. One refused because they were too busy, Air Temp responded quickly, the third took a long time. We're glad we went with Air Temp. They showed up when they said they would and all work was completed in 1 day. There have been no problems with the system in the A/C and heat modes. It seems to be especially efficient in the heat mode. We're using it now (November 2012) to supplement our oil heat system.
Description of Work: Installed Mitsubishi ductless air conditioning system ("mini-splits") including two indoor air handlers and one outside unit.

I am sorry that Member had this experience when calling Air Temp. I could not find Member' residence in our dispatching system to review any notes regarding her request for service. I have talked with our Customer Service Department and believe that Member may have talked with someone during the heavy call volume of July that was not familar with our Angie's Lists programs. Although the price seems VERY high, they were the lowest bid offering the better systems than their competitors. Air Temp was also THE ONLY company that actually measured everything to ensure we got a system appropriate to the size of our house. At the time of the bid we knew exactly where and how everything was going to be installed. It was also nice that our salesman visited the site every day of the installation to ensure everything was going right.
Description of Work: Installation of Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless AC/Heat units in 3 upstairs bedrooms, living room, and basement.

Dave Crispino was a great salesman. Unfortunately, the workers did not live up to expectations. They arrived on time, but were still working on furnace at 7:30 pm (Dave came by to help). This was November and worker started working on central air unit in the dark (my husband offered to set up a light so that he could see what he was doing). Earlier in the day, the worker left hatch way door wide open and left for lunch! I came home to find house wide open. Work done was okay, but not the quality job expected. When worker returned in the spring to activate the air conditioner, he again left the house wide open when I asked him to lock up when he was done! Would not recommend.
Description of Work: Replaced gas furnace and central air conditioner with Trane furnace and central air. Installed humidifier. Work was completed November 2005.

They got it totally wrong. They made the repair, and it didn't work. They came back and said it was a compressor problem, and they wouldn't refund my money for the work they did. I had to hire a different company to make the repair on the compressor.

We obtained 6 bids in the process from 6 different contractors and chose Air Temp. Our sales representative, David Crispino, was very responsive and professional. He worked hard to get our units scheduled and installed in the middle of the August 2006 summer heat wave when our 19 year old units died. The installation teams were very nice, but it took them 4 separate visits to get us up and running properly. The units were installed over a weekend (Sat and Sun). The guys worked long hours. When we turned on the unit on Monday, it didn't work. They responded quickly and had a team out that night and got it repaired (were told it was a factory issue with the unit). Then, it took two additional visits to get the thermostats installed properly. Each time, David was extremely responsive. There seems to be a problem in keeping technicians, as they volunteered they were leaving to take other jobs. Not sure what is going on there, but something to inquire about before starting the job.
Description of Work: Replace two Heil air conditioning units with 2 Trane 15.25 Seer, 4 Ton units, install 2 air handlers, install 2 outdoor unit pads, install 2 new thermostats, install condensate pump. Included a two year service contract (parts and labor), and 10 year warranty on the compressor and all parts and 2 years on labor. Price included two $600 rebates.

Extremely professional. I felt comfortable leaving them in my house when I was not at home. Would hire them again and have hired them again to replace my Hot Water Heater. Referred them to my best friend to replace her A/C unit and furnace. Very attentive, they always responded back whenever I called.

THEY WERE CAREFUL AND MADE SURE TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS SO THEY DID NOT RUIN ANY HOME FURNISHINGS. THEY EXPLAINED HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE NEW FURNACE. THEY REMOVED THE OLD FURNACE SO IT WOULD NOT BE IN THE WAY.
