We recently had to replace our septic tank. Jeff came come over the day we called and provided an estimate in writing the next day. Estimates for both a cement and plastic tank (we went with plastic) were reasonable and below other estimates we received. They were able to get started right away and the work was done very quickly. It took two days to complete, including draining the old tank, and there were no issues. There was no mess and the ground was raked, seeded, and spread with hay. Service was prompt and professional.
Description of Work: Remove old and install new septic tank

I really went over the story extensively above but bottom line beware.
Description of Work: Jeff Stella is the owner. I researched him on the consumer's website. There were no complaints. I then did not pursue the work until years later( in 2010). Researched again. Still licensed. Still OK. Or so I thought. I will try to make this to the point. I thought Jeff was a good candidate for the job of digging my foundation (front and side) and rubber coating by a another company( additional charge of 500.00) First of all Jeff did not get a permit for the town. ( they come out and mark where pipes are so the digging does not do damage. Well, with the first dig into the foundation Jeff informed me my sewer pipe was broken. I asked if he could fix it. He charged me extra to do this. I did not realize till later HE BROKE IT. But I paid. then he connected the pipe at the foundation. Fortunately a neighbor who works for the water dept and lives on the street noticed the connection was at the wall and not a certain distance from the house. Now Jeff just wanted to finish and be on his way.He filled it in and was on his way. I was beginning to be leary and composed a letter for Jeff to sign with the completion of the job that is there were any future problems he would be liable for repairs and damages. ( this is a sewer were are talking about). Well, the original problem was in the basement around the pipe from the well. (Poured in when it rained) After Jeff finished, the problem was now in the garage with leaking from this pipe to the outside. I called Jeff and the rubber coating guy looked at it and agreed there was a problem, So the front was dug up yet again. Now, I was really getting worried. Jeff only did outside plumbing so I had to contact my plumber who charged $450.00 to do the inside work. Jeff did not like that I insisted the pipe be changed to meet code. ( I guess having the connection right at the house foundation puts too much stress on it so it has to be 4' out from the house. The plumber tried to instruct Jeff as to what he needed to do but Jeff went to lunch. He told the plumber I would have to pay for this extra work and he told me the plumber would have to do the work outside which the plumber refused to do. Well, Jeff did return angry at best and did the work and filled in the hole yet again. Boulders and all (which he was supposed to take out. The ground all around the house front and side sunk terribly and made the water problems worse. You could see the whole area where it was sinking in front and side. I thought Jeff would be doing many jobs for me around the yard. I was extremely disappointed in him. I did pay him the balance minus the plumber';s cost but should not have. I just wanted to be rid of him. It cost me much more than that to repair my yard. During the job he actually asked me to write a regerral for him to a prospective client. I did not and I'm glad I did not. I would not recommend him. He really expected me to pay hime for not only breaking my sewer pipe but to repair it twice; once incorrectly and to correct HIS MISTAKE. Beware of this contractor.
