Joe the Plumber

Excellent outcome by Gary who is employed by Joe the Plumber! As a do-it-yourselfer, I had tried many times to get lesser quality piping to fit. After finally calling Joe the Plumber, I will never attempt to do plumbing unless it's very basic. Joe the Plumber is now my go-to company for my plumbing needs.

It took 30 seconds for him to see that the pipe was just fine (only needed a plastic cover removed), and to use pliers to remove the cover. We were still charged the full $100 fee. Had he done this without cost, or for a significantly reduced cost because there was no real work needed, I would be more likely to contact him again for future work. Instead I felt taken advantage of -- I will find someone else the next time I have a plumbing need.

The plumber tried to install the one we bought, and our water pressure was too high for the slip on spouts. He added an adapter and put on a screw on tub spout. It works totally fine now. They squeezed us in to a 4-6 window since we had no shower to use and were there at 4pm exactly. It was excellent service and very affordable.

Came out to the house within a few hours from calling them. Found the replacement heater had a ding on it, went back to the shop and promptly returned with a new one. Clean, professional, and timely service.

Both transactions went smoothly and quickly. In 2 separate appointments, Jeff fixed the bathroom sink and Wayne handled the kitchen. The pipes for the kitchen sink also had to be replaced.

When I got home the repair was made and there was no mention of a bill. They had stood behind their work even though it was out of warrantee. This is now the only plumber that I will use.

He has been out here a couple of times. He previously done extensive plumbing work in the house that I just purchased. I will be calling him again because he needs to come and do something else in here. The contact with him was excellent. It took a couple of hours or less to do the work. I think they got here about 8:30 and they were done a little after 10:00.

Arrived on time and completed work without any issues. Cleaned up as expected.

The work was quick and efficient, would definitely use them again.

I'm the one who gave a "D" rating - primarily on professionalism. In retrospect, that may have been too harsh. He was abrupt, not rude. But did storm out. But, I must add that upon comparing their quote to other quotes received, theirs was very, very, reasonable.

We made a Saturday appointment for 10am, which I was looking forward to since reviews were good. We were planning on visiting my brothers new niece that Saturday, but changed plans since we thought the plumber appointment was important. Even though it was a nice day and there was a lot of things we could have been doing with our day off, we waited for Joe from 10am to 2pm, but nobody ever came or even bothered calling to reschedule. We also called Joe at 11am and left a voicemail making a friendly check-in, but there was no response.

I contacted a couple of plumbers about a water heater leak. The first to come out looked at what type of water heater I had and the type of connections that would be required to install it; he advised me that he'd call back with an estimate that afternoon. An hour later, I received a call from Joe the Plumber's office (the second plumber I had called). They had someone in the area and would be able to come earlier if I was available. Ed arrived and checked out the water heater, getting on the ground with a flashlight and trying to find where the water heater was leaking. It was odd that the water continued around the corner from the water heater, so he followed that a ways and, lo and behold, there was a small leak from a pipe around the corner from the water heater. The leak originated from a toilet upstairs, so that connection needed to be fixed. Less than an hour later the problem was solved and I saved a ton of money. By the way, the estimate from the first plumber that didn't investigate the leak: $1,850!

It went Great! It turns out I am an idiot, but luckily Joe the Plumber is not! He discovered that the disposal had simply shut itself down, perhaps due to overuse, or some other reason. Luckily it has a reset switch (I should have known this). He unfortunately had to come to the house to discover this. Most people would consider this a waste of time, but not Joe, he seemed to understand my idiocy and helped me out by pushing the reset button (without pointing and laughing at me which I would have deserved). It may be the easiest job he does today, but it was a huge help for me. I will certainly be using him again in the future, and I highly recommend him! Thanks Joe!

Great professionalism! Joe and his crew are simply the best... on time, polite, efficient and they KNOW what they are doing! Kudos to Joe, Gary, & Wallace for redoing all the 1950's plumbing in our bathroom, along with installing a new tub. I highly recommend them for any plumbing need!

It took almost a week to schedule an appointment as they are very busy. Ed Rowe arrived on time and gave us a clear estimate on the repair cost. He had to come back to actually do the job and was again on time, this time with an assistant. It was a big job and involved removing and replacing the drum trap from underneath a 1940 bathtub. A hole had to be made in the ceiling of the garage. They took care to make a small whole so that it would be easier to repair. They were very careful when cleaning up. Next they removed the stems from 3 of our faucets in two bathrooms, rebuilt them and re-intalled them. They had to make a whole in the wall behind the shower and again took care to make it quite small so that it can easily be repaired. They are extremely professional and polite. They were very clear on all the charges and did a beautiful job. I would recommend them highly.

Excellent service today by Gary - we are VERY please with Joe the Plumber and will use the company again. We noticed leakage behind a wall in our garage on Sunday afternoon - left a message that day, and heard back on Monday morning. We were scheduled for Tuesday morning and Gary arrived in the window we were given. I was informed of the $125 diagnostic fee - and he was THOROUGH during this part of the service. This included pulling down a section of peg board and sheet rock in our garage and he pinpointed the issue with a pipe coming from our kitchen. He took plenty of time to explain the issues, why they happened, and how he'd repair. Considering the precise work he did to clear the area, it was a no brainer to have him complete the work when he quoted me with $425 (the diagnostic fee gets waived if you have them do the service). As a new homeowner, this cost was within what we thought we may pay and he proceeded with the work...which all went very quickly! When he was about done, I asked if it was possible to snake a bathroom sink that slows down for us and he did so for an extra small fee. Gary was completely professional, took the time to explain everything, was very personable, and cleaned everything up before his departure. Other than the sheet rock missing in the garage and the new pipe in the wall, you wouldn't even know he had been here.

From scheduling the service call to the work performed - everyone I felt with was professional, courteous, and knowledgable.

Showed up the same day I called, despite being tremendously busy. Provided not only good service, but a load of good information, and charged exactly what they said they would. I had not used this company before, but would definitely call them again.

Prompt arrival. Done quickly. No mess. Friendly attitude. He also checked quickly on another problem (no hot water) but said he would have to cut into a wall to diagnose. I will schedule another visit. Toilet works well! Also, no problem with the Angie's list discount. The initial quote was $550.00 without tax, ended being only $543.

Very good,at my house in under an hour,..luckily Joe was in my area,...regardless,he still came by and checked the problems I needed fixed.Scheduled my appointment for the next day,and my issues were taken care of and I was very satisfied,and if I have another plumbing issue,..Joe the Plumber will be my first call.Thanks guys,sorry about the late review.

Very timely. Called in the morning, talked to a receptionist who scheduled a technician later that day. Gary showed up on time and was very friendly and professional. Fixed the issues and charge was very reasonable given timeliness. Would absolutely use in the future.

Joe the Plumber was very responsive. He came to my house to check out the problem within 1/2 hour. The repair guys came out to do the job several hours later. Both men were very polite and answered all of my questions. They were very neat and clean. They covered all of the floors with tarps. The work was completed in several hours in a very professional manner. The only question I have is should I have been eligible for an Angies list 5% discount? Since this was an "emergency response", the answer is probably no. If that is the case, I am satisfied. Joe the Plumber has excellent employees. In addition to the men who installed the new water heater, the women who handles the calls was also very courteous and helpful.

Joe the Plumber on Sept 8, 2015, Joe gave us an estimate to replace our 2003 sump.pump. It was never working efficiently, Joe stated that the sump pump had a vertical lever and had no check value. He came on Sept 10 and replaced it with a new sump pump with a horizontal lever and a check valve. Joe was very knowledgeable. We were very pleased and highly recommend him.

Great! Ed checked all connections and made sure everything was good before he left. Ed was a nice guy. He diagnosed the problem after listening to what I had to tell him and then he investigated, went out and picked up the disposal and installed. I was happy bc the issue appeared less than 24 hours ago and it is now resolved. I will call them again.

I called on Friday to schedule an appointment. I received an appointment for Monday morning between 8 and 9. I had no further contact with Joe the Plumber until Monday. At about 8:30 am I got nervous because I had not heard from them, and the plumber had not arrived yet - so I called just to be sure I was still scheduled for someone to arrive between 8 and 9. Joe the Plumber called me back with a few minutes to confirm that someone would be at my home, shortly. Just after that the doorbell rang and it was Ed from Joe the Plumber company. Ed took a look at the leaking toilet and explained in detail what his process was going to be to rule out where the toilet was leaking from. He started from the lowest level repair and worked his way up. Within 25 minutes my toilet leak was fixed and he was back in the truck to go to his next appointment. He told me what signs to look for to indicate a continued problem and explained what the next steps would be if the problem sprouted again. He was awesome (and kind)! I will be recommending him to everyone.
