Robin in Manchester store is very patient and knowledgeable. She took time to make sure our questions are fully answered and she returned every email and voicemail messages. Installation was done efficiently and professionally.

Couldn't be happier with our experience with Dalene's. Rob was a pleasure to work with! He was professional, knowledgeable and involved with every step of our project. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again for future projects.

We didn't use their services. I contacted them to get an estimate and they never called me back. I sent them emails, he was supposed to get back to me with an estimate. I called him twice and sent him emails twice. He didn't respond at all, so I was extremely dissatisfied with them. They were supposed to set up an appointment to come do an estimate. My guess is, it wasn't a big enough job for them, so they ignored it. It was the owner of the company that I spoke with initially. Chris Dean is the owner of the company that I spoke with personally. I called him twice, left messages, and sent him two emails, and he never got back to me.

Rob in South Windsor store handled the selection and ordering process very professionally. He came close to matching a lower price from another vendor, but we went with Dalene because of his professionalism and the assurance of local quality control. Rob, himself, measured the room and explained all of the steps necessary to prepare for installation. We took care of removal of old carpet and baseboard trim. After delivery of materials on the appointed day, Kendall, the installer, came the next day. He was friendly, professional, and very experienced at his job. All sawing was done in the driveway to minimize dust. He completed the entire installation and cleaned up by noon. The installation was perfect--no flaws. We would use this company again for similar jobs, provided that they send Kendall to handle the installation!

Great price, good follow up, courteous and professional. I deal with hundreds of contractors each year inn my profession and these guys were right on the money.

installation date: 10/18 promised, 10/25 scheduled. Requests for an earlier installation were forgotten. Installation process: 2 hours scheduled on invoice for installation. 4-5 hours was announced at arrival. 6.5 hours to completion. First installer was bogged down, a second arrived and worked for an hour, then left to start another, important installation. baseboard strips sufficient for only one room came with the order. Part of that room was not covered with baseboard. Extra pieces were removed. Dalene promised to remedy situation.

f soso. The salesman was very courteous and professional but the installers ran short of tiles and I had to wait for about 4 weeks to have the entry hall completed. the installers did a fine job of installing tiles and were professional, skilled workers.

The installers were very careful and respectful of my home when they did the work. They have always done a spectacular good job. We'd never use anyone else. They're very responsive to any issues you might have making sure they fix them. They just do high quality work and have really good quality products. They have great product selections. They do great attention to detail and they're always very concerned about doing exactly what I want, so they ask a lot of good questions. Their prices are not the lowest, not the highest but very good.

Lovely carpet. Men who came to install were very nice and cleaned up afterwards. I would use Dalene again.

We used Dalene Tile in Manchester as a part of a $70K remodeling job that included a full bathroom, laundry room and two bedrooms. Dalene was a subcontractor who tiled the bathroom floor and bath surround. I was pregnant at the time and wanted all the work to be completed one month before the baby's due date. I selected the tiles and grouts from the showroom and they were very accommodating - then. The install took place during the day while I was at work. When I came home, I discovered that they had not used the grout I ordered but used a cheaper, different colored grout. Since I had specifically ordered black grout for the floor and white grout for the subway tile tub surround, I was very upset to discover that they had used stock gray on both instead, which changed the design effect that I wanted. I immediately called to complain. They sent someone out to look at it and said, "yep, its wrong." And get this: their only offer to make it right was to re-tile the entire floor and surround ON TOP of the bad work, but they wanted to CHARGE ME for the new tile needed to do that!!! Furthermore, doing this would have raised the threshold into the bathroom by a full 2 inches, creating a trip hazard. It also would have delayed the toilet and sink install by 2 weeks. For the tub surround, their solution would have required the plumber to pull out the already installed tub or lose the the flat tub edge (where you put the shampoo bottles, etc.). We went around and around with them, but they never even had the decency to say that they were sorry for getting it wrong. Our General Contractor tried everything to work with them, including arranging for all of us to sit down to talk together and brain storm other possible solutions. Dalene never budged, saying we had a quality install and should be happy. I was furious and appalled, but unwilling to delay progress as I was hugely pregnant and the Doc was threatening to put me on bed rest and kept telling me to try to stay as calm as possible. To this day, I feel that they took advantage of my situation and figured that if they remained unreasonable, the problem client/job would go away. I am ashamed of myself that that is exactly what I did. The larger job was finished in time to decorate the nursery and greet the (early) arrival of our daughter. So now fast forward... First, they had the gall to charge me for the special ordered grout that they DIDN"T USE. My GC refused to include that on the bill and ended up dealing with that. I also know that the GC now will no longer work with Dalene. Second, within a year, the tile began to fail in the tub surround. The grout they used was too dry/sandy and cracked and created holes where water could seep through. I brought the GC back to show him and he felt so badly that he re-grouted and repaired the grout for me for free. But now ten years later, I still look at the tile floor and am upset because the color is not what I wanted...

I was directed to the right samples, and was able to take 10 home to try out. I ordered what I wanted after the salesman explained my choices thoroughly, and my order came in promptly. The runner I ordered was delightful - better quality than I thought I had ordered!

Purchased carpet & installation for entire 2nd floor. Two bedrooms, walk-in closet, media room, hall & stairs. Lots of carpet choices, almost too many. My selection was pricey but I chose high-end carpet. There are economical choices as well. My only, small complaint is with quoting & scheduling. There was a little confusion and miscommunication on what was requested & agreed to in the showroom. However, we eventually got it all sorted out favorably. Installation was terrific. They did a great job, very impressed with the installation. Nice, clean edges, no buckling, can't see the seams, and stairs came out perfect (even though they are built a little wonky). The carpeting has a grid pattern and it lines up perfectly in every room. Crew was clean & careful & also kept me in the loop when they ran into a problem (the back of the carpet was scraping the paint off the baseboards, something totally expected and unavoidable). I would advise them to try to be slicker on the quoting & scheduling, but I still recommend them.

Do set aside time to browse- the number of choices at Dalene can be overwhelming. Friendly sales folks can help you narrow down your selections.Don't expect to walk out of here with a bargain. This is an investment.

Their customer service and response was inadequate. The original flooring was damaged when it was shipped and then the rescheduling of the install took a lot of time. After it was installed I couldn't reach anyone by phone or email. They were very unresponsive. They also left trash after they installed the flooring. I couldn't get them to pick it up until two weeks later. I would tell others not to use this company.

One carpet came in as expected. No complaints. But what really separated this company is what happened on the second carpet. There was something not right about the second carpet. Something about how it had been manufactured caused it to not look quite right and to feel oily. The company quickly sent a representative who said that he thought something was not right, but was not sure what. The next day the president of the company came to inspect for himself. No question. He agreed the carpet was not right. Full refund. We could take the money and go to another store or we would order another carpet from him. No pressure, just a sincere apology for the inconvenience.Happy to order another carpet from them - and Recommend them without hesitation.

Although Dalene's price was mid-range, the salesman came highly recommended from the 3 other estimates I received. On the first day, the installer saw the floor I had chose was wrong because it would leave a gap under the molding. It was returned to the store and sight unseen, trusting the salesman's judgment, something they had in stock in the warehouse. It was perfect. The installer was meticulous, courteous, and professional. It took him and an occasional extra man 5 days, one of which included a snowstorm (he still showed up). I was very pleased and happy with the result until the salesman called to say I owed a restocking fee (I refused to pay because that was the salesman's measuring and estimate that was off) and a charge for a cleaning kit that was originally free on my contract! It seems as if he was trying to get just a little more money from me. Other than that, I would recommend Dalene.

Salesmanknowledgeable and responsive.He did his job very well: I spent more money than I intended to, but that's my problem. Dalene's primary customers - I have since learned - are construction companies. The quality of the product is excellent, but it also costs more. This is my only complaint, and I had the right to walk away if I chose. The installation crew were highly professional: arrived on time, were courteous, easy to work with - especially during the 27-inch snowfall of 1/12 which extended their install time one day - and they carefully but swiftly put down my new flooring and baseboards. I am very impressed with the principal installer, Kendall, and highly recommend Dalene's chiefly because of him. He is also very knowledgeable about the product, pointing out some features I hadn't learned from the salesperson.

The experience was very good. I liked his honesty and how he explained everything thoroughly. I felt that he wasn't going to leave until I understood what he was going to do and what he would do if something went wrong. They haven't done anything so I would consider them average because anybody could be a good salesman. I signed on with them this morning to do the work.

Of the dozen or so professionals I've contracted with over the past few years, Jack's (Jacek) tile work is the job that has left me most satisfied. Having lived with the bathroom for a year now, I still can't find a flaw with the install amywhere - nothing less than perfection in the grout lines and spacing, levelness, solidness or clean flexible sealant in the corners. Brenda was terrific in helping with the selection, design and layout. I worked with the South Windsor office. The next time I have tile work, there is no doubt that I will go to Dalene and ask that Jack be scheduled for the job. I spent a lot of my own time on the plumbing and prepping the subfloor and wall structure before I needed to turn the job over to an experienced tiler. Compared to my other investment in the bathroom project - which was all for materials - paying for the tile install labor, the bulk of the project cost, was a terrific investment.

Dalene's office staff was very pleasant to deal with. They had exactly the product I wanted at a good competitive price, and the lead time was not long and worked very well with our schedule. I felt the crew rushed the installation somewhat. We had just purchased the house and we did not move in for an extra week so the floors could be done. They had an entire week for the job but did it in about a day and a half. Normally I'd say that's a big plus -- quick work -- but the guys were hustling so hard (we felt they must be trying to cram in as many jobs as possible) that the house was pretty messy afterward. I felt that for $11,000, the least they could have done was Swiffer the sawdust off the floors and doors and remember to take down their plastic sheeting. The floors looked great, but there were quite a lot of edges that were sticking up, a situation we spent literally the next four weeks trying to get the company to address. We got the telephone runaround from two or three different individuals. By then, of course, we'd had to move in, which we worried would complicate things should they have to replace particular boards. Finally two people came out to check the edges. They reassured us that it was normal for new boards and that as the floors settled (and humidity changed), they would flatten out. Their explanation made sense, and I'm not a flooring expert, but I will be interested to see if this does actually happen. I would recommend this company's products, but we were so frustrated by trying to get someone to address our concerns that I myself would probably not use them again. When spending this amount of money -- and we're not loaded by any means, so it was a very big purchase for us -- one should receive a higher level of customer service.

Great company to work with. They are real pro's, have a great selection, are competitive and they know their business -- flooring! So much better than an experience I had a couple of years ago on a carpet install by a big box store!
