From the first time I left a message, the timely return of his call back, updating me on his arrival time and his courteous, professional manner, I couldn't have asked for a better "handyman". He would find a problem, inform me about it then resolve it. This is the first time I have used "Angie's List" and I couldn't be happier with the results. I would highly recommend Justin Pompa "A Just Improvement" for projects in the home.

Description of Work: Fixed a bunch problems: rubbing door, worn out vanity, touch up painting. Everything came out great.

Description of Work: He put in railroad ties for my mom to use as stairs in the back yard. I asked him to contact me if there were any additional costs, but my mom had to pay out of pocket, as he did not let me know. The completed stairs were sunken in the middle, due to old concrete that he built around. My mom had to hire someone else to finish the job. She's 82 and should not have had the hassle.

Description of Work: He did some painting, some electrical, and some repair. For the deal we purchased, he did well - timely, efficient, professional, easy to work with, accomplished what we needed.

Description of Work: Justin skim coated the bathroom walls, so that they would be smooth for my husband & I to paint. We purchased the 8 hour handyman special for $199.99 thru Angie's List. Justin told us (before he began) that it should take him two 4 hour days to complete the project. Prior to starting the project, he offered to come over one night & remove our bathroom toilet (that our bathroom contractor/remodeler, not Justin) had not yet removed, so that he could skim coat behind the toilet. He did not tell us upfront that this would be included in the hours/price that we purchased from Angie's list. He made it sound like he'd be in the area & was just doing this to be nice, especially since he doesn't live very far from us. Justin did a good job with skim coating the walls. We had one or two small things we were going to ask him when he finished skim coating the bathroom walls, because it did not take him the full 8 hours to skim coat. When he was thru with the skim coating, he said he'd finished the walls & was leaving. We then commented that we had one or two small things we'd like him to do for us, since he didn't take/use up the 8 hours that we'd purchased. We had kept track of the hours, and Justin had only worked for a total of 6 hours at the skim coating of the bathroom walls. When my husband mentioned that to him, Justin became irate & angry, and he told us that he had removed the toilet (which we feel he had volunteered to do before the project started), and also that he had to leave and come back each of the two days & that he normally doesn't have to do that, so that's where (what he felt was) extra. We didn't ask him to leave & then come back each day. He would leave at lunchtime (so we figured he was going out for lunch), and then come back an hour or two later. We don't feel that he should have included the time that he was gone as counting towards usage of our 8 hours. We've used other contractors/remodelers, and none of them have ever charged us for their lunch hour or time that they've taken if they've had to leave our house & then come back later the same day. About 10 minutes after Justin left (after completing the skim coating), he called me to apologize for his rude and irate behavior (and for storming off) towards my husband. I told him it was okay & not to worry about it. However, we will not use this company again, even though the workmanship was good. When we pay for 8 hours of work, we expect to get 8 hours of work, not 6 hours.

Description of Work: Installed molding/trim above cabinets and installed kick plates

Description of Work: put in closet doors, door to computer room, secured other doors, installed vent covers for forced air heating system. I provided the doors that were installed and the vent covers.

Description of Work: Fixed bathroom light/fan, dryer vent to outside, replaced toilet seats, fixed recessed light, replaced and fixed basement ceiling tiles, inspected window encasement that might need replacement.

Description of Work: Justin did several household repairs, including installing a dorian backsplash; installing an outdoor porch light; repairing a hole the wall; repairing water damaged wall and ceiling. The approximate cost includes the $199 deal + the cost of materials.

Description of Work: They took down some old hallway doors and put up new ones. Also installed a new bathroom fan, and found some problems in the attic which they were able to repair promptly.

Description of Work: Painted a room / spread mulch / removed a large mirror / repaired a wall / fixed a pocket door.

Description of Work: Goupon special Justin worked out all the details with us. We had work done in the cellar. When he left, I could not tell he had been here, it was left so clean.
