Everything went well. Mike was even patient when we changed a few items a few times. He worked with us the entire time. We felt confident in their ability to meet our expectations and they did. Our experience with Rhino Back Roofing almost seemed too good to be true. That feeling prevailed from the point when Mike arrived (right on time) for our estimate to the final walk-around inspection with the project manager, Josh, to assure that we were completely satisfied with our new roof installation. Mike spent far more time with us during the estimate than any other contractor. After doing a thorough inspection and measurement of our roof edges, roof surfaces, perimeter trim, and fascia boards he sat down with us and went through what materials would be used and why and walked us through the old roof removal, repair measures, and new roof installation. He answered our questions in a professional and knowledgeable manner then stepped out to his car to work up our estimate. Several minutes later he knocked on the door and handed us a printed and very detailed estimate that was competitive with other estimates we had received. Everything happened when and how it was promised. The installation crew was amazing. They were efficient and hard working. The on-site carpenter replaced all the rotted fascia, soffits, and trim while the crew installed the full perimeter drip edge and underlayment materials exactly as specified. The roof area around the chimney was waterproofed, the chimney was re-leaded and then the new roof shingles were installed. During the entire process, the crew was all business; each member seemed to know exactly where he needed to be and what to do, so things moved very quickly. Clean up was thorough. The driveway and lawn were swept and raked until there was no debris visible. Finally, a magnetic roller was run up and down the driveway and all around the house multiple times to pick up any roofing nails that might be left on the ground. We are very pleased with our new roof! Having watched the entire installation process, we can say that everything we asked for was done perfectly and every part of the roof system was installed with meticulous care. When we encountered an unanticipated situation, they worked with us to find an economical and effective solution. I felt like part of the process from start to finish. Considering installation of heating cables on the second story of my 25 year old roof to prevent future ice dam build up. First needed an assessment of condition of roof and adequacy of insulation to determine if there was anything further that needed to be done. I really appreciated Mike's expert opinion and his honest, professional input and will definitely consider him when the time comes for a new roof.

The tiles we picked out look great on the house: Sedona Canyon. Its hard to tell from looking at a small sample. My wife and I shopped this job the best we could. We requested quotes from four companies for our roof replacement, skylight replacement and chimney repair of which two of the companies were referred by neighbors. Two of the four were not able to quote the chimney repair but the quotes were itemized so we were able to compare apples to apples. The difference between the highest and the lowest was $1,500 on the roof replacement. The shingles offered were Corning and Timberline. We read every review we could find on both and found that Corning had a slight edge because it has a nailing strip. This wasn't a make or break difference. We had four quotes from well-reviewed and experienced roofing contractors so we based our decision on who we thought would be the most likely to do the best job, expert and clear communication on remedy for existing roof leak and ice damming, the most likely to return to fix a problem, price and value. Rhino-Back Roofing was the clear choice. The job took three days, the roof looks great, the skylights fit perfect and the chimney looks awesome. The service was professional and the cleanup was good.

Rhino-Back did an excellent job, on time and on budget. They completed the work in one day and did a thorough job of post installation cleanup, even coming back after the job to clean up screened in porch that had roof removal debris in hard to reach places. Rhino Back Roofing was professional from day one. We had several contractors come to our home to inspect our roof and give us estimates for a new roof. Mike did a very complete inspection - far more than the other representatives from other companies. When he was done, he provided us with a very clear estimate for his services. He helped us to understand the entire process and what to expect every step of the way. Despite the difficult spring weather, he was excellent about communicating with us about when he would come to complete the project. When he and his crew arrived, we were very impressed with their quality of work, attention to detail, and seamless teamwork to complete the roof in less than a full day. The crew members were incredible! We have lots of delicate landscaping around our home and we were very concerned about the damage that might occur. When they were done cleaning up, we were astonished to see that nothing was damaged. Removing two layers of shingles and plywood is certainly messy, but their clean up far exceeded my expectations. Mike even came by after the dumpster was removed and did a final clean up and inspection. We have yet to find a nail or shingle around our house. The quality of the roofing materials and the roof guarantee was far better than others offered; yet Mike's prices were the same as the others. His communication and follow-through also far exceeded my expectations. The final cost was actually a little less than his estimate and we could not be happier with the new roof.

Mike (owner), Josh (supervisor), and Jessica (office) did an amazing job of marketing and follow through. The whole operation took 3 days, day 1 dumpster & materials arrived, day 2 old roof gone/new roof on, day 3 dumpster gone. Josh did an excellent job of supervision and final touch ups and clean up. The crew did an excellent job. A very professional job by everybody from Rhino Back Roofing. I would recommend them to anybody.

From the initial meeting to educate me on roof shingle replacement to the follow up before starting the job, Mike the owner is the consummate professional. Mike walked me through every detail and didn't assume I knew or didn't know anything about my roof. Once his crew showed up, they worked tirelessly throughout the day to complete the job. I have a 2500 sg ft colonial home, so it was realistic to think that if could take two days. Josh the foreman was checking in with me throughout the day, which was a Saturday by the way, to make sure I was happy with everything. Josh showed up the day before to walk me through the process and showed up the Monday after to make sure I was happy with everything. I strongly recommend using these guys, I have had my roof priced from other contractors in the area and in some cases the cost was double.

What makes for a great roofer? Good price, of course. But the work has to be quality and the materials top notch. They should arrive when they say they will, perform the work in a timely fashion, and clean up the area, leaving it in the condition they found it. If you agree that this describes a great roofer, then you've found who you are looking for in Rhino-Back Roofing in Avon, CT. They arrived punctually at 7 a.m. with an 8-man crew; had both layers of the old roof off by noon, and by dinner their meticulous clean-up left my property neater than they found it! Plus, they were courteous, attentive to detail, and followed up to make sure nothing had been forgotten. I would unhesitatingly call them again, and am happy to recommend them here.

Mike's team of roofers were very good. They came, removed the old shingles and put the new one on in a day and left my property spotless. I had been having an issue with leaking around the chimney and they took the time after removing the shingles to let me inspect the plywood to understand what was causing the issue (step flashing and disintegrated ice and water shield after 20 years). I had been set to go with another roofer when Mike happened to contact me and ask me if I was interested in getting a quote for a new roof. His price was in line with other estimates, but I really liked working with Mike because he answered all my questions and didn't mind that I asked lots of question. And if he didn't have an answer, he got back to me with an answer. He and Josh were also very good at keeping me posted in terms of start date, delivery of dumpster, etc and they were easy to get a hold of. I would highly recommend Rhino-Back Roofing.

Excellent! Mike (owner) and his crew (led by on site foreman, Caesar) reported to the job at the appointed time. They answered all my pre work questions and concerns and began work. They proceeded to strip the previous roof and replace the existing skylight in less than a day. I am so impressed with their workmanship and the results. Mike was back several times during the day to check on progress and address any possible complications. Stripping the original materials and dropping them in a designated area resulted in a spotless cleanup of a messy job. They were done in a day and when they left you could not tell that they were there, as my deck (drop area) was spotless. Their work has enhanced the value of my property at a very fair price.

The total roofing experience with Rhino-Back roofing was exceptional. All aspects of the job, from the beginning first home visit from Mike Trouern-Trend to evaluate the project, to the promptness of communication relating to the quoting of the project as well as the final installation were seamless. Progress reports on start dates, and timing came regularly from Mike, and Rhino-Back was able to come earlier than expected and completed the job in just a day and a half. The crew that did the actual installation was professional, courteous, and prompt. When they left the job after the first day, the yard was clear of debris and the unused materials were neatly stacked in the driveway. After completion of the job extra care was taken to look for stray scraps of shingles or nails that might had fallen through the tarps. Excellent overall experience

They were great. Came on time, finished quickly - earlier than expected. Very professional. Great owners and staff. Easy to contact. They called and kept us informed on every step of the project. A storm was coming in and they stayed late to make sure the project was finished so we would not have problems with leaks. They made sure to cleanup and the workmanship is wonderful. We have dealt with many contractors (fired a few) through the years and Rhino -Back roofing is the best. We would recommend them 100% percent. Great quality, workmanship and they made sure that we were happy.

Rhino-Back Roofing was fantastic from start to finish. They spent a lot of time evaluating the job, answering questions, explaining the process and the products they would use. They provided a very detailed estimate. They were able to schedule the job very quickly since it was estimated at a 1/2-day project. They gave us feedback on everything we would need to do to prep for the project - acquiring a dumpster, clearing some trees - and then gave us updates as materials were delivered, followed by check-ins to ensure the materials were correct. The crew is fantastic - very respectful and friendly. They work quickly and efficiently - clearly have been a team for a while. They needed to do some extra repair work once the old roof was removed, and quickly got the materials they needed and made the repairs. Due to that, they thought they might need extra time, but they were still able to finish by the end of the day. Their clean-up was phenomenal - they checked all around the premises for pieces of roofing, nails, etc. They came by to do a walk-around to check on the work. The quality of the roofing materials is fantastic - wish that our whole house had these products! They stayed in touch regarding the warranty papers and even sent a beautiful thank you gift. Michael advised us what was going to happen and when. He team arrived when they said they would. They worked quickly and efficiently. The work was done when Michael told us they'd be done and the even CLEANED UP after themselves. My wife was enthusiastic about that last part. So much that she noted that she wised I'd clean up after myself the way Rhino Back Roofing does. And best of all, our roof looks AMAZING. I've got three compliments from friends since the work was done and they all wanted to know who did the work!
