Kevin Palmer responded promptly to our request for a quotation to prep and paint the exterior of our home and attached decks. The entire crew was extremely courteous and professional. They applied a number of samples to the house to ensure that we would be happy with the colors. Each day they cleaned up the work areas. As sections were completed they ask us to look at the area asking for our approval. The day they complete their work we were advised to contact them if we have any questions or concerns. I would not hesitate recommending Kevin Palmer. My wife is already asking me to have them back to paint the interior of our home.

The whole experience was excellent. Mr. Palmer was prompt in coming out to provide an estimate and to explain options and alternatives. Once an agreement was reached, a formal contract was quickly emailed which also called for a reasonable deposit. He was readily available by phone and email to arrange details of paint and timing. He and his brother, Rusty, were also very good about dealing with small changes that we decided on as the work progressed. The work itself was performed promptly. We were always informed as to when they would do the work, and they always showed up on time. The painters were all very polite and responsive. Finally, we thought the quality of the work was outstanding.

Kevin provided a detailed estimate and made recommendations for achieving the best results, which included using a white stain rather than paint. The estimate was second lowest, but we felt more confident with Kevin. They proved to be worthy of that confidence in every respect. The crew was very courteous, respectful and worked around our needs. We were notified when they were beginning and ending the day's work so there were no surprises. There was a crew of three to five typically and the work was completed in five working days. The quality of work was outstanding and the window sashes were well painted without getting paint on the glass. We definitely would recommend them for a quality paint job.

His crew arrived on schedule, thoroughly prepared all surfaces, and then transformed the appearance of the house, making it more handsome than it had been since it was constructed in 1822. I called Kevin to ask for a quote and got his voice mail. He called back within the hour and came over that day to look at the job. He gave me an estimate and said if I wanted to go ahead with it he would provide a written proposal. I called a couple of days later and gave the go ahead and he emailed me a written proposal with a schedule for spraying the roof. The work started on Thursday, the day promised, and his worker came over and sprayed the roof to kill the moss. Kevin came by to review the work after it was done and said they would complete the job the following Tuesday. On Tuesday the same worker came out and power washed the dead moss from the roof. The roof looks new and I'm very satisfied with the job.

I am a retired college professor who researched and published articles and books on organizations. I also am a 70 year-old homeowner who needs to think prudently about the cost as well as quality of any work done on our home. Kevin Palmer and his men earned the highest rank in both categories. Kevin himself is a total professional. He also is a decent human being. His men reflect both of these qualities. As a professional, Kevin devoted more time to carefully estimating the work to be done prior to submitting his estimate than anyone else in the five decades I have owned a home. His men took genuine care and pride in their (and I mean it) work. They spent more time, with real “elbow grease,” scraping, sanding and preparing our house for painting (and its many windows for caulking) than any painters I ever have employed. In comparison, the last crew of just a few years ago merely “dusted” in preparation before they began painting. And a lasting paint job is all about preparation. Kevin’s men, or at least the one’s I met -- Charley, Ron, Walter, and Randy -- are professionals themselves with decades of work experience as individuals and together. Like Kevin, they too are good and decent men. I know, for being retired, I had a bit more time to get to know them. They all have character, and don’t just care about their work – they genuinely enjoy working with each other, as I did having them around. It could be that a psychologist would call them individually and as a crew, “congruent.” In the area of costs, Kevin’s men powerwashed the paint on our house, used only the highest quality paint, and even took down an old TV antenna on our roof – and the price I paid still was competitive with other estimates. Organizationally, I’ve never seen a more dedicated or professional group of craftsmen do a better job together than these good men. Kevin deserves honest credit for selecting and maintaining this crew, as these men do for making it up. I never have been more satisfied with any work done on our home. Kevin and his men earned every word in this piece.

It was excellent. Kevin and his crew had done work for some of our friends and family in the past. When we called for an estimate, he promptly got back to us and met with us for a lengthy consultation. His estimate was about in the middle of the other estimates we received, but the quality of his work stood out above the rest. His professionalism was unmatched. Ultimately we decided to wait through the winter and agreed to have the work performed in the spring. Kevin honored his old proposal even though the cost of materials had gone up. The actual painting work was done by Kevin’s crew, which has been with him for over 10 years or more. Everyone on the crew was professional, respectful and sensitive to the fact that we had a newborn infant in the house. They never woke her up from a nap.

They did an excellent job and they had a very good price for the job. They came to the job on time and worked till it was completely done. They cleaned up well after the job was done.
