We are A small full service lawn and landscape company. Owner is on 99% of all jobs. We have no desire to get bigger. We stay small to give you personalized service. Sadly any reviews posted by non members do not count. If you want to see our work look at outback steakhouse on the berlin tpke. We did all the landscaping over last year, removed islands, planted trees, mulched beds, removed mess around building put in new stone, fertilized the lawn, got a sprinkler system installed and have gotten massive compliments on the job. Not only did we do all that but since i have taken control,of the grounds the place looks amazing as per the entire staff and regional manager. The managing partner put a rave review on Angies list...however since she is not a member her A rating does not count and mysteriously the non member reviews have vanished from the site.

The job went wrong from the start.I had Little Rock in the front garden bed.I wanted the rock in the front taken out and mulch put down.He took the stone out and guess where he put the stone,in the back yard not on my property,he put the stone in the back yard on my neighbor’s yard.The contract never stated that.Then he said in the contract to put weed Block down and put red mulch down.I am picking weeds out of the 2 rock gardens daily .He never put that down.I would never hire him ever.He did a half *** job and he charged me 1329.00 and change.He is a Bum the best word that descibe’s Tom. Please who ever reads this please do not hire this half *** landscape company.He is a thief!!!
Description of Work: Wanted 2 rock gardens done in the front yard of my condo. I would never hire again!

he is mad as he tried to pull a scam and i took him to court. we wrote up a contract April 21, he signed it April 28. his wife called and requested red mulch first week of may. May 9 we planted a dogwood tree. came back May 10 th and his wife said we had bad reviews on our websie and she wanted to give a good review. they wanted to save money and said to just put stone in back as he may want it for something else later. we are talking 3 wheelbarrow loads not more. we dug out along driveway a foot wide, put down plastic and used some of the stone to widen driveway as his wife had problems driving on the driveway and was always driving on edge of lawn. the contract specified the type and size of shrubs to be planted. i bought the shrubs, first quality not home depot crap, from Prides corner in Cromwell. the shrubs were planted and bed mulched with the red mulch as she wanted. we planted 2 phlox in a bed by front of house. reset, not completely redo but quick reset of existing Belgian block around front bed. small job, took 3 hours. wife came home a bit after 10 Am we had just left and was yelling at answering service this was not what she wanted. she wanted more flowers. i said we did what the contract specified and asked if they did not want what they got why they signed contract. they said they did not know what the shrubs were. i tried telling them the limelight hydrangea tree will have massive flowers on it. did not want to hear it and only wanted to pay $500 , then he," wanting to be a good guy" decided to pay $800 but that was it. then he said we did not touch the blocks when innfact inhas straightened them out. then said if we come back and straightend out the blocks he would pay. sent a guy over, touched up the blocks heceas happy and sent a ck in full....then put stop payment on check. sued, he did not respond to court, then sent notice in hecagreed he owed abd sent a check minus court fees. send notice he still owed court fees and got a check with a note on back of envelope " God watches over people like you" in todays age if you do not understand what some shrub will look like then you can easily look it up. then he said i would not return calls about shrub questions yet i have a printout from answering service that wife left a message returning my call. i have evey email and phone message from him . anyone wants to see a scammer in action look at these people. when i wrote the contract everything was written out in detail, name of shrub , size of shrub and placement of shrub. all done as specified and he said he did not care what the contract said as he was the customer and that was what counted. contracts are written so both parties agree on a job. no changes can be made because after job is done you change your mind. maybe they should atop trying to scam people!

Now 3 years since i did this lawn installation. I do not do his fertilization or provide him with any services at all. We are in a severe drought situation and he does not take any care of the lawn. I have not heard from him in 3 years. Not sure what his problem is and am sick of him berating me here. As i said before i installed his lawn, told him not to walk on it, he ignored me. I went back multiple times to touch up where he walked as he kept complaining that the lawn was not growing. The lawn looked just like it should have. It was seeded not sod and it takes more than a week for seed to even germinate. We even went back after it started growing and put down starter fertilizer. He did not follow my instructions and just kept telling me i was a bum. I reiteriated the instructions to water it and not walk on it. He ignored me. I gave up. This is customer from H***. Do not do business with him, He will make things up and blame you. Be warned if you do business with him you will regret it like i do. Wish i never met or worked for him.

He was a bum. He deserves to be known as a bum. He was suppose to come out and correct the job and he never did. I could see if he came out and said look we can't do anything for it because it needs this or it needs that but he didn't do that. He said he would but he never did.

first off he wanted the job for less than cost, not possible, then he wanted more and more for free. we did everything, sprayed lawn to kill it 2x over. then brought in new soil and cover areas to be done, york raked it, hand raked it and hydroseeded it. when we left it was perfect. then he kept walking on it after i told him not to .not only did i go back, multiple times and touch up the job, he called wanting stuff done over and over and over. i have no problem touching stuff up but this guy did nothing but whine. by the way this was done 2 years ago. i kissed his *** and kept trying to tell him not to walk on it but no matter what i said he did what he wanted. you get to a point where after going back to the point of ridiculousness becomes too much. we even went back FREE and fertilized it a few weeks after it was done. i tell people we cannot guarantee how the lawn will grow because we cannot know how they will take care of it. if 2 years later there is a problem then how it it my fault ! how did he take care of it ? we have been having very hot and very dry conditions this summer and this lawn gets a lot of sun and needs a large quantity of water and regular fertilizer. without that you get a dead lawn.

NO ONE made any agreement to do the work here but I don't believe there was any intent to do anything wrong. I'm going to chalk this up to missed communications. Tom seems like an honest guy and offered to come out and address the couple of things I wasn't happy with but I would rather not go there. Minor stuff. In general the job they did wasn't bad. So I'm declining on having those things addressed. Again the biggest problem I had with the whole thing was no one agreed to any contract or to actually perform the work. Tom doesn't see it that way. He believe we had an agreement. I don't think we did so apparently there was a failure to communicate. Pretty unusual for me I am normally VERY careful when contracting for any type of service. A word to the wise here. No matter who the contractor is BE SURE, especially if you are only getting a quote BE SURE they understand that you will contact them BEFORE they perform the work. And request a contract. No contract - no work. I really don't mind paying someone for their work but a short formal contract seems like a really neccessary component. Then EVERYone agrees what the work is and when. Frankly I would encourage Tom to draft up a very simple contract and use it with each of his customers. Seems like a reasonable way to do business and avoid mistakes like this one. I am going to raise the grade on this review because I am willing to give Tom the benefit of the doubt and just chalk it up to a communication failure. Tom seems like a hard working honest guy so I really don't think he did this intentionally I think it just wasn't clear. So. I'll accept some responsibility but I won't let something like that happen again. Get a contract no matter how trivial the job is.

Wow that's news to us. His wife stopped us on the road driving past her home and asked for a quote. We provided her with one and she went and talked to her husband then came back and said that's great when can you come do it. Told her in the next week and she said great. We came by the next week, and spent half an hour picking up sticks and small branches putting them, as agreed by his wife, by the curb for free town pickup to save them money. We then blew out all the shrubs along the foundation and around the house to get everything out onto the lawn for pickup. The lawn is in extremely poor condition, very little quality lawn and mostly weeds. Using the jrco tine rake on mower I went over the lawn 3x in 3 directions. Each pass loosens up more debris than the last pass and I filled the three bags on the mower 4x, each time each approx the same as a 50 gallon trash barrel . Along the left side of the property is woods and a shed. We blew yew wood line back as far as we could then. Proceeded to blow off and vacuum the lawn again. Upon finishing I rang the bell and asked the wife to come take a look around. She did and indicated it looked great and handed me a check. We did approx 130 spring cleanups this season and have gotten positive feedback from all. This complaint comes as a surprise to me as after reviewing the job the woman said it looked great. They never contacted me or gave me any reason to indicate they were anything but happy with the job. If they had said anything I would have instantly taken care of any issues. Again I cannot possibly understand what the issue was as when we left the lawn was literally spotless, no leaves, no sticks, no branches and all grass and leaves vacuumed up and wood edges blown back into woods.

THE JOB THAT THEY DID WAS ALRIGHT. THEY DID WHAT I EXPECTED OUT OF THEM. SO IT WAS FINE. THEY WERE VERY PUNCTUAL AND THEY RESPONDED QUICKLY WHEN I CALLED THEM.
