 + -1 moreIt went wonderfully. They were quick. Rather inexpensive on the list of five companies I interviewed and got estimates from. They were second least expensive and I trusted them the most. Water has been great and the service great. All equipment was i stalled on time and very politely and efficiently. All my questions are answered with intelligence and experience. I would highly recommend these folks.
Description of Work: We had a serious problem with another well water company we found to be unethical. We wanted to fix an untreated iron issue and whatever else we found. We did not trust what we were told by the prior company. We needed someone we could trust and have confidence in. We were entirely new to using well water and knew nothing.

Professional Water Systems were suggested to us by another water company that did not specialize in what we needed done, I felt confident in there ability based on this . At one point my wife and I could not be there, the technician made a video showing were the tanks would go in our very tight utility closet and sent it to us. . They were great.

 + -1 moreThey went out of their way to get the job done under warranty on the Monday following a weekend. I was able to keep the leak under control that weekend, and it was summer, so not much of an inconvenience. Also, their trip charge for this work, not covered by Amtrol, was very reasonable.
Description of Work: Had to have a water tank they installed two years ago replaced, as it had started leaking. Although Amtrol is supposed to be the leader in well water tanks, was surprised this unit failed so soon but fortunately, it was still under warranty.

 + -1 moreI had purchased a water softener and a water filter and needed them installed. Through a recommendation, I contacted Professional Water Systems. I spoke to Andrew and he advised that the cost would be between $350 and $400. I readily agreed. The technician arrived promptly at the appointed time and proceeded to do an excellent and thorough installation. It took approximately 3 hrs. When done he presented me with a bill for $450 and advised that it was higher than the estimate because he had to replace the pressure gauge on the holding tank attached to the well pump. After I paid him I asked for a copy of the bill, but the technician advised me that the billing system did not allow for copies and that one would be emailed to me. After a couple of weeks without getting a copy of the bill, I received an invoice from Professional Water Systems for and additional $214. When I called Andrew to ask why, he told me that thr technician only charged for 1 hour instead of 3. When I asked why it was so much higher than the estimate, he said he quoted without seeing the job. Seems to me that a company that has been in business since 1980 would have a better estimate as to how much a fairly simple installation would cost.

 + -1 moreThey inspected our well, grey water line, water softner, tested for hardness, bacteria etc... and put together a comprehensive proposal that we can choose to move forward with a bit at a time.. and frankly told us we didn't need any of it really... but if we wanted softer water and be certain our drinking water is awesome we could do x, y.. zed.
Description of Work: After experiencing scare sales tactics from T-Webber and price gauging proposals... and service we called for a second opinion.. Thank God we did! Paul and Andrew are not only professional, skilled and extremely savvy.. with one meeting they saved us over 10,000 in estimated costs from T-Webber.. we obviously will never use T-Webber again and we will always use Paul and Andrew!

 + -1 moreProfessional Water Systems was a great contrast to our previous service provider, The Water Source -- both cheaper and better quality. They are not well known in the Hudson Valley since they are based in Connecticut but you'll be happy you found them.

 + -1 morePaul came out to give us a bid on a new water softener system since ours wasn't working and another company said it needed to be replaced and that it wasn't that good of a system to begin with. He tested our water to determine its hardness, etc. and then checked the system. His evaluation was that the system was just fine and all it needed was servicing. If during the course of the servicing it was determined that the interior of the tank was corrupted, then the cost of the servicing would go towards a new system. He gave me a quote for the new system and wrote down all of the details that he had discussed with me. His service guy came out about five days later [there was a weekend in between] and did all of the above. The cost of the servicing was quoted around $150, but since the timer needed to be replaced as well, the final cost was $311. Certainly a lot better than the cost of a new system. Both Paul and the service guy were very pleasant, professional, and prompt. The system is working nicely now.

 + -1 moreThey replied to my phone call imediately, set up an appointment, arrived at the designated time with a crew of workermen. All were pleasant and neatly attired. Three men went to the water heater in the basement and changed the anode rod in the heater as well as draining and cleaning it. The Fourth crew member went to the garage to service the water softener. It seems the salt needs a substance referred to as "rust" -- he administered it. He also changed the all-house water filter. My washing machine no longer turns white glasses brown and my silver blue, green, etc. What a fantastic happening!!! They even talked to my dog! Very professional call.
Description of Work: Corrected an ogoing problem (over two years). Had many people in, but no one knew what was wrong or how to solve. Paul was here a very short time and explained the problem to me. It was fixed in short order and the problem no longer exists.

Description of Work: Received a quote from PWS. Used another provider for very similar equipment at a lower price. PWS was polite and responsive. They came to my home to analyze my needs and delivered a quote in short order. As soon as I indicated I had another provider offering comparable equipment at a lower price, they came back with a lower capacity unit and a lower price. However, at that point their bid was for a lower capacity unit - but still at a somewhat higher price. Probably a very good outfit - but pricey.

 + -1 moreGreat experience. The engineer was very knowledgeable and without prompting explained every step and result of the water test. He also gave me a good overview of the components and functions of the well system I have (not installed by this company). He replaced the water filter (carried this as stock which is another plus) and explained how I could do this myself easily every 3 months if required. Engineer create a great first impression for this contractor and I would both recommend and use them again without any hesitation.

 + -1 moreFantastic service! I called yesterday because we'd been having an odor and staining due to iron in our water. They not only scheduled to come out the next afternoon, the technician called in the morning to say he was running early (!) and arrived by 11:00. My husband and I are new to having a well and the technician thoroughly explained the details of how it worked so I feel like I understand the system. He was clear on what we need to do to maintain it, thought of some ways for us to save money and let us know what we should do immediately vs. putting off. He never tried to "up-sell" me. In fact, he left some cleaners and testers behind that we weren't charged for. I really appreciate that they were thorough and up front and gave me detailed information on what they were using and what they recommended. For example, they recommended a better type of filter than what the previous owner had used. I assumed they were trying to sell them to me. No - he left me the label so I could buy them myself, giving me ideas of how to get them as inexpensively as possible. In addition the technician was exceedingly respectful and polite throughout the service call. All in all, a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone!
Description of Work: Service of water system: replace filter and O ring, shock system with chlorine, replace screens and venturi, tested for PH, iron and how soft the water was.

Description of Work: I asked them to come look at why I had no water coming into the house thinking it was a water pump. The guy shows up quickly (within 4 hours) but has no tools or any equipment.on him or in his car. He is at my house for less then 15 minutes. I lend him a flashlight to look at the radon system but he doesn't recognize the brand. He states I need a a new radon system and he said he will send a proposal but it will cost about $7,000. I call the next company in the phone book and they arrive within 2 hours (with tools and their own flashlight). Within 2 hours they replace a pump on and $378 bucks later everything is running fine. 2 weeks later I receive a proposal from PROFESSIONAL WATER SYSTEMS which is over $7,000. I disregard it. They call and ask if I an going with their new system. I mention I got it fixed for well below their price. 1 YEAR LATER, i start to receive bills for a service call for an hour worth of work. I call them and go through the whole story yet they say it was a "service call" even though the guy had NO TOOLS. I have even spoken to the owner who is a complete jerk (the company is owned by 2 brothers I believe.) So now it is 2 years later, they keep sending me an invoice 1x a month and I have called their Rt 7 office at least 5 times thinking there has to be someone there who has a brain. Since then I have bought a new radon system that cost me more then $9,000 but more than happy to give another company the business. DON'T USE THESE GUYS. Trust me....
