I bought a chimney cleaning on special through Angie's List for $99, and it went quite smoothly. Admittedly, the chimney wasn't particularly dirty, so it wasn't a messy job, but they showed up at the appointed time, cleaned up after themselves and were very professional and courteous. And no less importantly, they didn't try to "sell" me anything extra. They did point out a few slightly chipped bricks in the fireplace that could stand to be "pointed," but they didn't push it, I didn't pursue it, and that was it. All in all no complaints, and I would use them again.

Here we are weeks later and NEVER heard from the company....Makes us wonder how the level of service would be if questions cannot be answered before the purchase..

Did the Angie's deal for $99.99 and paid for it. Contacted company and it took 3 weeks to get an appointment. Called prior to let me know they were on the way. Technician was friendly and did the job. Kind of suprised by them not going on the roof to do the cleaning. In 30 years this is the first company that would not go up on the roof and do the cleaning. I think it is good when they go up there and check the cap and clean going down into the house. Technician told me they dont do them that way now. He spent almost 20 minutes and finished up and then left. Seems like a pretty bare bones job but you get what you pay for.

I'm no expert on chimneys as I have never needed this service prior to moving into my new home so I don't have much to compare this service too. Additionally I don't know how to inspect the quality of the work. The technician was pleasant enough, and said that for my chimney he could clean it from inside the house by running a brush up the chimney which is new to me since I remember being a kid and seeing guys up on the roof cleaning chimneys but again I'm not the expert and I imagine new equipment and techniques have been developed to allow this. They did not clean out the ash trap in the basement (I believe this is an extra service and not hard for me to do anyway so no big deal), it took a little bit of time to schedule (2 weeks) but that was my fault based on my schedule and still quite reasonable. One thing, when the technitian was leaving he noticed that my front door stone landing was falling apart with the mortar between the blue stone cracking. He offered that the company could do that sort of repair work so I said I woudl be interested in a quote though I had planned on repairing the landing in the spring. I never did hear back about having soemone check out that work but perhaps because I indicated I was planning on doing the work in the spring. ANyway no issues with this company based on my basic experience with them.

Company said I didn't need the deal.

He was very prompt. He was very nice and appeared knowledgable however, I was concerned that he did not climb on the roof to look at the chimney. Given the short time he took to do the inspection I feel like some portion of the $99 should be applied to the work. I am unsure if I will be using him in the future, I will be seeking other estimates.

We scheduled it for two weeks out and he never showed. She was able to get a hold of him a couple of days later and he said "he didn't feel like coming out." So the company was going to try to reschedule- but it was going to be for November 21st. We can't wait that long for the work so we went with someone else.

They work out great for me. In and out in a little over 20 minutes. They cleaned as they when and left no soot to create a mess later. Good Company and I would recommend to family and friends.

Had some initial confusion over the details of the first appointment I set up, but the office staff was responsive and I was able to get it rescheduled easily enough. The guys who showed up to do the sweep were friendly and efficient and the whole process didn't take very long at all. Very pleasant experience overall.

They were on time, having additionally called 20 minutes before arriving. They did not have to clean the furnace flue as that was clean and would be an unnecessary expense; they noticed some small cracks in the chimney crown and said it could be done at a later date but to not neglect it. Fair, honest and reasonable.

Went very wll. Here on time. called ahead. Quick work. Would use again.

Good phone communication with secretary. I actually purchased before I went away on vacation a few weeks ago--- then scheduled after I returned. Very prompt. He told me my chimney cement cap was cracked on top and needed to be fixed (which I had a new one put on 1.5 years ago-by another company). MTM took pictures with my camera and gave them to me so I could use them when contacting the company that repaired the cap. He also told me what they used vs what they should have used. Kept area clean and cleaned up after himself. Very quick---so quick in fact... I feel bad I did not even catch his name.

They were very good and the service is excellent. They looked at our chimney and said that it just needed a cover and we didn't end up doing that. I used their company because they're on Angie's List and they have good reviews.

Disconnected wood stove and cleaned stainless steel flue. Did not offer to disclose the condition of the flue regarding level of soot/creosote. Emphasis was on seeking additional work and regular chimney cleaning. The actual cleaning seemed to be acceptable. As a general comment for all chimney service providers, I would like to literally see the condition of the flue before and after via mirror and illuminated flue.

Great communication from the get go. Dan was prompt, efficient, and a pleasure to deal with. I am very pleased with his service and will call him again.

Dan arrived promptly and we walked through our house and basement. He immediately picked up on safety and performance issues concerning our oil furnace. The chimney ducts have had problems (bad draw, leaking soot), but they are also not up to code for fire safety. Dan does not do this kind of work, but he was very informative about our problems and suggested several companies that would help us with this problem. Likewise, he spotted problems with our clothes drier vent. His main job (that we paid for!) was to clean our fireplace and its chimney, which he did quickly and with little mess. All in all, a great experience.

I found the company through Angie's List, contacted Dan by email, and briefly discussed the job by phone. He called to confirm the day before, arrived on time, and was neat, professional , and service was as described. He pointed out some things can could be done (chimney cap, cover for ashes vent) if we wanted to, but was not pushy.

very well...I believe prices are higher this year [2008]..because everything seems to be edging up a little.....the 4 Angie's list vendors I have used this year have been good experiences.

Great. Would highly recommend. They throw in a free-of-charge inspection of the foundation to make sure that your house is up to code on fire codes and give suggestions on how to bring the house up to code (which was great in my case with a 100 year old house). Clean, fast, reliable.

I WAS PLEASED THAT THEY CAME TO MY HOUSE ON TIME AND DID HIGH-QUALITY WORK. I WAS NOT TOO HAPPY THAT THE EMPLOYEE THEY SENT WAS A LITTLE LESS POLITE THAN I EXPECTED. OTHER THAN THAT, THE EXPERIENCE WAS POSITIVE.

I WAS REALLY SATISFIED WITH THEIR WORK. THEY ARE ALWAYS ON TIME AND I WILL CONTINUE TO HIRE THEM IN THE FUTURE. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB OF CLEANING UP AFTER THEMSELVES.
