Description of Work: Complete master bath remodel from sub floor and plumbing up to rewiring ceiling lights. Ricks crew very professional... On time and never left a mess. Great job all around. Was the only contractor that gave us multiple possible remodels and price was equal to or better than all others we went to. Also thanks to Plymouth Glass for a great job on the custom shower glass.

Description of Work: We had walls replastered and painted due to water damage. Rick has done excellent work. He takes his time to do the job right.

Description of Work: Removed two different sized Windows on one wall and replaced with one large window centered on the wall. Replaced outside clapboard and trim with new material. Sanded and primed dry wall inside. Excellent job. On time, clean and very professional. Would recommend to others.

Description of Work: not sure of the date. Called for an estimate to replace patio slider and front storm door and replace shutters on house. He came to my home right on time and we walked through what I needed to have done. Never heard from him again.

Description of Work: Repaired and painted severe cracks in drywall ceiling in hallway and living room area in 40-year old home.

Description of Work: We had structural issues that needed to be repaired in our crawlspace. I have had other contractors come out over the years for estimates and they either didn't follow up or suggested wrong or incomplete solutions. When Rick came out for the estimate he said he would help me out with this. He came for a second estimate to confirm all that needed to be done. What Rick did for us far exceeded our expectations. Rick replaced the main carrier beam and support beams. He doubled up floor joists, installed new support columns, replacing temporary ones. He replace a sill, a header, and built us new stairs. There were additional things that Rick did for us also but I think you get the idea, the list is too long to list.

Description of Work: Installed pull-down ladder for attic access and also installed plywood floor in attic.

Description of Work: Rick rebuilt our entire front porch under the existing roof. He completely demolished the old porch (it had begun to rot) and put in new up to code footings and installed pressure treated underpinnings and created a completely maintenance free porch for us using TREX decking. We went from our old solid porch walls to beautiful railings that perfectly match our home's style. He installed maintenance free beadboard ceiling panels and covered the ugly board under the overhang with vinyl to make it look brand new. Rick showed us samples he though would fit and he was right on! Rick's work was impeccable and he cleaned up beautifully.

Description of Work: Rick replaced and repaired some sill plate damage we had from prior terminte infestation in our basement. In order to do this, he had to jack up portions of our house to get to the sills--he was very careful in his approach. He also re-framed and re-built a wall in our garage which had severe water damage, and also added a gutter to help drain water away from the garage.

Description of Work: We had our front entry door repaired. Removed left and right side pilasters and kick plate. Cut out damaged door frame areas. Patched cut- out frame areas. Sanded, primed and painted patched areas. Installed new pilasters and sealed seams. Removed all debris from our front door area.

Description of Work: Thoroughly evaluated needed repairs in detail. Reinforced and re-supported a large, enclosed porch. Replaced doors. Replaced rotted window sill and other outside wood. 1. Dug and installed footings under enclosed porch. The original footings, from a different contractor, were undersized, rotting and too shallow . 2. Installed proper joist supports for porch. Original beams were undersized and sagging. 3. Re-decked porch with composite decking material. 4. Replaced sides on porch, rehung door and installed new screening throughout porch. 5. Replaced failing door to house with new door and new screen door. 6. Replaced rotted window sill 7. Replaced deteriorated facial boards around the house.

Description of Work: The front door and foyer floor were rotting and sagging. creating energy efficiency issues and safety issues in our 1923 built home. Rick had done some work previously and we were exceptionally pleased with his performance and quality of results. The ceiling had a hole in it from a prior plumbing repair. As work progressed, we discovered rot in the outside walls of the foyer as well. Rick was able to preserve much of the original, hand crafted moulding, both interior and exterior, while replacing sub-flooring, walls, exterior, interior, insulating [where no insulation had been], replacing custom cut shingles on the exterior, installing slate floor to match existing hallway slate floor, removed foyer door and finished interior wood with threshold to deal with slight difference in height from foyer to hallway, and FLAWLESSLY painted exterior and interior such that it inspired, nay, required!, that we paint the hallway to uphold the promise offered by the front of our home! But the most beautiful, awe inspiring welcome to our home is the Tiffany style, Craftsman door and sidelights that Rick found for us and installed as part of this project. Everyone who sees this entrance comments on its beauty and perfect 'fit'. Rick takes extra time and care to not just get a job done well, but he takes the time to really listen to his clients to match their style, interests and needs with what best suits their hom. He offered us his thoughts while planning, and advice concerning best practices for energy conservation, etc.

Description of Work: My mother's house had water damage to plaster ceilings and walls. Rick repaired the damage, patched the plaster, and painted the ceiling, walls and trim.

Description of Work: Unbeknownst to us, a wooden gutter had cracked and leaked causing rot on the wood behind the gutter and in the wood shingles surfacing the wall outside our family room. There was some evidence of possible damage to the wainscoting and plaster walls on the interior wall of our 1923 built home. Rick apprised us of possible differences in cost depending on what might be revealed when the outer wall was removed. The original window had been replaced with a vinyl coated replacement window, reducing some expense. Rick removed all damaged material, preserved the window, custom cut all wood parts, installed inner insulation, outside surface, Tyvek seal, reinstalled window, custom cut each "crazy angled" wood shingle [YES!] to match original siding, and painted to finish so it looked like new! He even offered to replace the downspout on the third floor gutter since he was going to buy materials anyway. How thoughtful was that!

Description of Work: Rick replastered ceilings damaged during the winter. He also created access doors into attic space for storage.
