Disappointing . . . I recently used Mennillo Plumbing to run a water line for my refrigerator. While cutting the sheetrock to run the line, they cut a major electrical line. Their response to me was to find an electrician to fix it. I called and spoke to Bill the owner in an attempt to have him address the problem by either sending an electrician or adjusting what they charged me so I could find my own electrician to fix. He said it's not their problem. It must be great to make a mistake, cause damage and just say not my problem. I have cut sheet rock many times and never had an issue with electrical wires. A decent plumber should be able to handle this without cutting wires. The cost to fix the electrical line was almost as much as the plumbing charge. In addition, even though I told them what the plumbing job was in advance, the plumber didn't have the basic parts when he arrived to complete the job. Then they had the audacity to charge me for the plumber's time to run to Home Depot and purchase the parts. Extremely disappointing and not fair. . .

price before having them do the work and I was quoite surprised to get a bill for $595.00I was referred to Bill Mennillo by a work colleague who used them and was very satisfied. I didn't not meet Bill, but Sean came to do my work. I had leaky faucets in both my kitchen and bathroom and when Sean first came, he checked them out and said that the faucets needed replacing. He was very believable and credible, so my wife and I went out and bought two new faucets. Sean came back to install them and he spent a lot of time here, making sure everything was working and that there were no leaks anywhere. He was very conscientious and was very neat. He got rid of all my garbage and his work has turned out to be fine. So far! My only issue with Mennillo is that they seem to be high priced. I never discussed price with them beforehand (my fault!) and was quite surprised to get a bill for $595 for the work. Granted he was here for 3 hours and did need to go to a supply company for some different size rings and washer. I have nothing to compare this price to so I don't know if it's reasonable or not; just seemed rather high to me. I would highly recommend Mennillo Plumbing. The work is of high quality. I would just recommend discussing price beforehand. I will use them again and I will be sure to discuss price.

I got the name of this plumber off of the E.O. Smith website after I discovered a leak on my hot water heater. I called up and Bill took the time to explain why he recommended a replacement hot water heater given the age and model of my particular water heater. I told him that the work had to be done that weekend as I needed to leave town on a business trip and didn't want to leave my wife and child without hot water. He was very understanding and accommodating. The work was done efficiently by Bill and his helper. I would definitely hire him again.

DID NOT FIX PROBLEM AND WAS UNRESPONSIVE WHEN CALLED AFTER HE COMPLETED HIS WORK. IN FACT, HE SAID THE PIPE MUST BE BROKEN --- NOT HIS PROBLEM. AS IT TURNED OUT, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. ANOTHER VENDOR SNAKED AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE SINCE BEEN TOLD THAT THE $526 MENNILLO CHARGED WAS EXCESSIVE FOR WHAT HE DID (ASSUMING IT HAD WORKED). WE HAD HIRED HIM BECAUSE HE HAD GOOD REVIEWS ON ANGIE'S LIST, BUT HE DID NOT DO AND GOOD JOB AND HE DID NOT CARE THAT IT HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY DONE.

Bill came out to our warehouse and was finally able to fix a leaking pipe that numerous other plumbers have attempted to fix in the past. He was super professional, solved the problem, and was finally able to explain why the problem was happening. Highly recommended and will definitely use again!

I found Mennillo Mechanical listed on the AO Smith website, as our ~16 year old water heater (came with the house) was not heating the water. Called Bill Mennillo and consulted on repair or replacement. He recommended replacement, as the price of a new thermostat and/or probe would be a good fraction of the price of a new heater, and the he would not trust the condition of the tank. Consulted over the phone on possible replacements, including high efficiency and tankless on-demand models. Scheduled an in-home consultation to check available space and options. During home visit, Bill recommended against a tankless model, as it would have been expensive to drill through the old house foundation, and our low usage (2 people, small house) would likely not be worth the significant added cost of an on-demand or hybrid unit. Available space in the basement was too short for a high efficiency "fully-condensing" unit, which he would have otherwise recommended. I chose to go with the standard 6 year AO Smith conventional "shorty" model, on the recommendation that it would last as long as the 10 year model if properly maintained. Workers arrived on time for the install, were professional with their work, and answered numerous questions during the process. They explained how to perform a yearly tank flush to prevent sediment build up, which would otherwise reduce tank lifetime. They also explained the safety features of the new hot water heater, including how to start pilot light, set thermostat, and keep air inlets at base from becoming clogged. I requested that ball vales be installed to replace the old gate valves to make for a faster and easier emergency shut off. Bill noted several "features" of our plumbing and heating system that should probably be replaced at some point, including a bad gate valve at the main water inlet, and several parts of our old furnace that should be fixed or replaced. He said that nothing needed to be fixed immediately, and recommended using the heater for the winter and having the repairs done and/or replacing the entire boiler next year. I had called a few other places on Angie's List before chosing to go with Mennillo Plumbing, but none of them were as helpful during telephone conversations, and only one had enough knowledge of high efficiency models to make any recommendation. Though Mennillo's price was at the high end of the estimates I received, I am happy with the work performed. The new water heater works well, and the sweated joins on the copper pipes look more professional than the ones that were previously in place.
Description of Work: Consulted on options for new hot water heater, including in-home consultation. Removed old water heater and installed new AO Smith heater, replacing shut-offs with new ball valves. Gave guidelines on maintaining new hot water heater. Consulted on future furnace repairs.
