I would not recommend this company. They came out on a Tuesday to our rental property to look at a baseboard heater that wasn't working. First issue was they told my tenant what the deal was instead of me, the landlord and the person who will be paying. Never contacted me, I had to hear through my tenant what the issue was. 2nd, they said there was low voltage to the thermostat and would have to check all the other thermostat wiring to see what the issue was. Supposedly there were to contact me with an estimate. I waited a day and contacted them (took 2-3 tries). The guy said they were busy and would give an estimate in a couple days. Never heard of an estimate taking that long. I told them my tenant has young kids and it was going to get colder so if they could give me an estimate quicker that would be appreciated. He said he would talk to his boss and let me know. We are currently on day 5 and have not heard from them just for an estimate (forget when the work can get done). If they are that busy I would have rather they tell me they couldn't get it done quick and I would have looked elsewhere. I ended up finding an electrician who went out 2 hours after I called him and fixed the problem in 10 minutes. It was just a bad breaker which you would think would be a simple problem yet Sked was there for much longer and were talking about pulling wires from other thermostats. Avoid them.

On the day before Halloween we had a terrific wind storm. An 8 inch thick branch on the property fell and ripped all the wires off the house in the middle of the night. I called Sked Electric at 6:15 AM - their message said they opened at 8. They called back at 6:20 AM. They were at my house at 6:45 AM, diagnosed the problems and returned to the office for parts. By 9 AM they had replaced all the wiring and installed a new battery for the generator. Hard to imagine better service. I had not used them before but hiring them was a total no-brainer.

Up front, we were told that there was some extra work that would be needed to put boxes behind each light because of code changes since the house was built. Frankly, we thought that this would be something that added to the cost by a lot because of the labor. The electrician who came was extremely time efficient and this wasn't a big deal. He did, however, have to postpone six of the lights because when he went to install them, he found that they had been illegally installed all those years ago. We scheduled a return visit and Sked provided the missing parts. Those lights were installed, some non-working outlets fixed and a pair of outdoor lamps that had NEVER been connected to the indoor switch were tied in. Again, the electricians were good at their jobs, neat and time efficient.

Communictations were excellent throughout the entire process. The work performed was quality and job was cleaned very well.

Very professional and willing to help. Took a full day with two workers. Cleaned up as they went.

He was wonderful and did a great job. They actually returned my call and gave us an estimate, came when they said and did the work. They were prompt, reasonable, came when they said and fixed the work that needed to be fixed.

Ken and his crew have done many jobs for us and we've always been satisfied with his work. Always reasonably priced, many times under budget and professional. In this case they had to drill a hole into the fireplace to install the outlet for our gas fireplace insert in our second home. They had to run a wire from the circuit breaker to the opposite side of the house and install a ground too. My husband drilled the holes through the basement joists to save them time and us money, it worked out perfectly, they were in around 8am and done just a couple of hours later. Very satisfied. Work we've had done in addition to the fireplace in the past include: Installing thermostat for under floor heat and new GFCI outlet in bathroom Wired and Installed over range microwave Added outlet in hallway.

Ken and his team did a great job. Met our scheduling deadlines, made cost effective recommendations to address existing conditions, and very innovation solutions to meet our needs.

For well over a decade I've been living with two hanging lamps that came with the Condo and were at best utilitarian, at worst boring and tacky. Having found a great bargain on two more suitable fixtures I had Ken of Sked Electric come in October, 2013, to evaluate what he could do and how quickly he could accomplish the job. We live in a brick piano factory built in 1881 and in 1985 converted to condos; our townhouse unit is at the top, on the 4th and 5th floors, with quite high ceilings - 14 foot ceilngs. Ken arrived on 24 October promptly, with an assistant, Brian, and a twelve foot ladder that he carried up three flights by himself, and the two finished the job in an hour's time! They were friendly, very professional and could not have been more efficient i and helpful, even replacing a faulty dimmer. I would recommend Sked Electric without qualms, and intend to call them again when my husband and I decide to install a ceiling fan - that twelve foot ladder would definitely be required! It went very well. He educated us regarding the generator and how much of the house we could run with our generator. Reviewed how to turn the generator on in the event of an outrage. Him and his team were punctual, courteous and professional. They did a great job and I'd hire them again.

He had realistic & beautiful lighting in our kitchen at a reasonable price & is so pleasant to work with! Have had work done by Ken Sked over the years and have always been satisfied and pleased with the quality of the work done. Always comes in under budget on every project we've ever had him quote. (note: can't remember the exact amount charged for the services as my records are not where I am writing this review) Ken's crew was always on time, professional and completed the job with a minimum amount of disruption. I highly recommend Ken and he is now my go to guy whenever I need any electrical work done.

When I showed Ken what I needed done, he listened, proposed a solution, gave a quote, and performed the work well.

He said that he would get back to me with an estimate. I have never heard anything from them. I think this is extremely rude.

It went great. I contacted three different companies, waited and was unsuccessful. I went on Angie’s list. Sked popped up first. I called them on Thursday. They were out here on Saturday and gave me an estimate on Sunday. The only wait is the transfer switch, which is recommended getting through Home Depot which was cheaper than what he could get it for. That finally came two weeks ago and they scheduled to come tomorrow. I would use them in the future.

Ken Sked (owner) arrived exactly on time for our oppointment and went over everything in detail. He was very professional and explained what the quote would entail. This was my first experience with an electrician, so I didn't know what to expect, but the experience was very plesant. We met on a Friday and he told me to expect a quote over the weekend. However, I waited over a week for the quote and didn't get a response right away from my inquiry regarding the quote. When I did receive the quote, it was not very detailed. I was expecting a line by line itemized quote, detailing labor costs, "travel" costs (which I don't agree with,) eletrical wire, etc. Instead, all I got was a flat quote with side notes. Because of this I don't know how much per hour he was going to charge labor, nor how much he was going to charge for "travel." I also was not prepared for the high cost of the installation. Including the parts (which I was mostly supplying) and labor/travel, the total was just slightly under the total cost of the generator itself! For a not-so-complicated install, I was expecting maybe $200 max, but was quoted over double that. Again, I've never used an electrician before, so maybe my expectations for cost are too low; and because my quote was not detailed, I have nothing to compare to. Needless to say, I went in a different direction. I giving Sked Eletric a favorable rating for professionalism, punctuality, and responsiveness.

Ken was very nice, very confident and professional. Everything went well. I have not gotten the bill yet, but I have no doubt he will stay on quote. I had Ken Sked come by to help me with an emergency with my septic system pump control box. He s not an expert in this area, but he was able to figure out basically what was wrong and pointed me in the right direction. I had a pump specialist out, and he confirmed Ken's analysis. Ken charged me the minimum fee for his time. I also hired him to add some lights to the house, and add some new switches and outlets. He had a crew of two men out to work on the service. They were on time and were done in about 2 hours, and everything worked great! Tim and Brian were both very nice and professional. I would recommend this company highly. I recently received the bill and am happy to say that It was lower than the original quote. Wow that never happens.

Their service seemed to be fine and we were going to use them but something came up and we did not do the project. I will use this company in the future.

The electrician showed up exactly on time with company owner, who walked electrician through the work to be done. The owner also made sure that I was satisfied with what we had agreed upon estimate/contract. The electrician completed the work in about 3 hours. He was impeccably clean and when he completed the work he called me to insure that I was happy with the results. His work was very professional indeed. I am very happy with this company and I intent to use them on major other electrical work at my house.
