Ted did this job affordably when nobody else would! My own roofer turned me down. The repair was 35' up, but he attached steps in just the right places and made it look easy.

Ted Zakhar the owner was great. He came right away and gave me a very professional and competitive estimate. The work was completer two days later, the roof looks great, was on budget, and the crew cleaned up perfectly. When I am ready to replace the rest of the roof, Zakhar roofing will get the call.

I used Zakhar on two separate occasion for siding and roofing repairs. "Zack" was very professional and fair. the work was quoted and perform to the original price with no surprises. Zakhar Roofing & Siding performed a minor roof repair. It didn't last - a few years later the roof began leaking in the same spot. Zakhar Roofing was unresponsive and unwilling to re-look at the roof.

After negotiating a very good price, Ted and his crew came out within days and replaced the roof. They did an excellent job on the roof, the skylights and made sure that everything was very clean when they left. The project went as planned and on budget. The crew was very professional and did a great job of cleaning up the site after the project. I have referred Zakhar to my brother to do his roof and would not hesitate to call Ted for any future projects. Overall, a great experience.

From the getgo, Ted was patient and listened to what we wanted done and gave us a lot of options. He came out twice to inspect the existing roof, dropped off samples and sent a quote in a timely matter that outlined all of our options. Given the age of the roof, there was a lot of rotted wood that Ted's team took care off. They came in and in a day and a half removed the old roof and replaced it with a new one. There was a lot of materials to be dumped but by the time the team left the yard was clean. Ted told me they would come "another day" to do the gutters so I figured it'd be weeks before we had gutters. They were up two days later. All in all, I was very impressed with the team's professionalism and timeliness. Would highliy recommend.

I shopped for a roofer for about a year. I had worn shingles, ice dams, and a poor edge on a flat roof so I did plenty of reading up on what was needed and how to hire roofers. I found that roofing jobs are risky in terms of quality and pricing. If you want to skip to my review of Zakhar roofing, just skip to # 4 below. I dealt with: 1. a company that used good processes and products but charged an outrageous amount and used very high pressure sales tactics. I suspect some of the salesmen have never actually worked on roofs. They didn't do rubber roofs anymore due to liability so they would only quote roll roofing for that section of my roof. 2. a company with a long reputation that used good practices. They agreed to a detailed estimate and they did too have rigorous practices, other than the fact that they would only replace the flat rubber roof with a rolled roof as well. The price was a little on the high end but seemed reasonable. I waited but in the mean time I did mention my experience with them to a friend who ended up using them. My friend didn't like the way the job ended up. Some problems were found and the salesman/quoter was a little carefree with adding on additional work. Along the way, they incorrectly insisted that building codes required replacement with a more expensive wood and an owner manager had to get involved. There ended up being a leak around the chimney in the end - but that is not that uncommon. For what it's worth: the salesman/quoter is no longer with the company. My friend said in the end he wouldn't recommend them so I continued to shop around. 3. a contractor with a low price quote that left out some key details and then said he did plan to do these items when I asked him about them. It seemed a little too coincidental that he had already planned to do just what I asked, so I was wary. Besides this claim seeming fishy, an internet search showed a lost/settled lawsuit and a company name change so I stayed away. 4. After a winter of shoveling my eaves to prevent ice dams, and a minor leak, I went back to searching for a contractor and came across Zahkar Roofing & Siding on the GAF website and Angie's List. I met with the owner, Ted Zakhar, who is actually a pleasure to deal with. Their practices and materials are sound and the company has been doing this for 3-4 decades. Not only do they still do rubber roofs, but Ted actually said my roof didn't need replacement right away and suggested a fix for my drip edge problem. The pricing was very fair. I wouldn't call it rock bottom, but I wasn't looking for rock bottom work - I wanted reliable, good work so i signed the contract. They came when they said they would, left one of our doors accessible at all times for us, were done within two days and cleaned up well. There were _no_ additional charges. When I finally checked out the roof in detail myself, I did have a minor concern. Ted didn't share the same concern but did notice a torn tile and had someone come back to replace that. My concern was about the ends of the ridge vents. I had expectations on how they would look based on my old roof but they did them differently so I wanted to make sure it was still done appropriately. I understood Ted's explanation that the ends are sound and I did look up installation instructions so now this is just an aesthetics issue. I don't expect them to change it (without a charge) and it's not important enough to me to pay for a change. I just mention it to give you the benefit of knowing that if you want your ridge vent shingles to go all the way to the eaves, discuss it ahead of time. If I move into a new house and need roof work, I hope Zakhar Roofing is available. I would definitely recommend the company based on my experience with them.

Ted showed up when I asked for a quote, then emailed us a very complete quote in a very timely manner. SUpplied pages of references including addresses and colors and names of exact roofing product used so we could ride around and decide on the color having seen the product installed on a house. Crew arrived when promised, they curtained the house for roof removal, carted everything away in a timely manner and put the new window in and installed roof quickly. Gutter installation followed in a few days. I noticed a piece of wood hanging at a strange angle a few weeks later. I called the office and someone came by and fixed it quickly. I would recommend without reservation.

His estimate was the most reasonable of the three t hat I obtained. He showed up on time for his appointments. and the work was done quickly and professionally.

They were very good. I got them through Angie's List. I highly recommend them. The guy was highly professional, knowledgeable, respectful and prompt. The first time he came to talk to us, he talked to my son-in-law and my daughter. He was very informative. They showed him around where the problem was and we had no problem with him. At the point of assessment, he was very professional. I would give him the highest grade because he was very great. The price was good and it was fair. They were the top.

They did great job. They showed up every day and were very nice. They did a great job. I loved their service and was very happy with their work.

complete roof tear off, replacement of plywood and Gaf lifetime archatecural shingles. copper flashing around chiminy, sealing around wood stove pipe. Complete removal of debris and clean up. Work finished in two days. Leak around stovepipe developed at first rain and I email Ted at 11pm on Friday night and got return email by 7am Sat morning saying someone would be by on Sat to fix. Problem fixed by 10am. No further problems to date. | |Ted was a pleasure to work with. I felt he was honest, reliable, and took pride in the work his company performed more than the money it brought in. Debbie, in the office was awsome. She always made you feel like whatever you asked was very important to the company and worked to get an answer as quickly as possible. I would definitely use again and recommend.

No issues and service was as expected. I would certainly call Ted whenever i need anything his company does.

Workers were right on time, went right to work, all day, they were very professional kept area clean all day. Did a wonderful job.

I contacted Zakhar's Roofing and Siding on the suggestion of a friend. I called their office and a phone call was promptly returned with a time for Ted (the Owner) to come out and look at my siding issue. Not only did Ted show up at the precise time he said he would, he was waiting for me 5 minutes prior to our scheduled meet time. He was extremely professional and reviewed my complete home issues with me in a timely manner. As I own a townhouse in a home owner's association, I assured him I would present his contact information at one of our meetings to discuss future repair work. He was one true professional and as I have seen some of his prior roofing and siding workmanship, I would definitly recommend Zakhar's Roofing and Siding without a doubt.
