Not only were the workers (with the exception of one worker) rude, they were incompetent. A job that should have taken five hours took 12 hours. The worst experience with a company I have ever had in my life!

When no one answers the voice mail or email and just ignores business that isn't a good sign.

When the move started I thought I was going to be happy with these guys. They called to let me know they might be late. In fact they ended arriving right on time. All three guys were Very friendly and personable. They were good about working around my two small children and were good about asking questions on how to pack/position items. I did most of the wrapping. I did however leave the living room furniture for them to cover and wrap. I move a regret. They did a terrible job wrapping my couch, they left leather exposed and actually left the sofa legs on. I explained that the wrapping was not sufficient and that they should take the legs off. Although they said they would fix it. When I got to the storage facility the bottom part of my couch and sofa chair were exposed. The storage facility is about 2 miles from where I lived and it took me 10 minutes to arrive. They took about 30 minutes (even though we left at the same time) and then they got lost in the storage facility and were roaming around on foot when I found them. It really seemd like they were dragging their feet because the move was not taking as long as expected. They got a little too comfortable and one of them was even on the phone with his girlfriend while moving the boxes from the front of the facility to the storage pod. As for the charges the hourly rate seems reasonable, however, they add a Travel charge ($150) and charge extra for a flat screen $75. When they finished they pointed out that they finished an hour earlier than the estimate. I think they thought that proved they did a great job.... For this price I think I can do better somewhere else, so I will not be using them again.

thanks for the original review and your concerns regarding your move in August of 2013. After discussing that move with you, you did in fact move with us again on January 8th, 2014! We appreciated the opportunity to work with you again and you shared with us that move was excellent. At that time you stated you were going to resind the original review, and we hope the Angie's List system allows you to do that. I'm glad we exceeded your expectation on the second move and look forward to serving you again!

The crew of 4 showed up around 10:30 and proceeded to work like .demons. they workly quickly, and with care, and took time with awkward pieces to make sure they were moved without damage. Once we got to the new location around 1:30, we stopped for a lunch break (I had ordered pizza and sandwiches to be delivered) and then got back to unloading the truck. My son was in the thick of it helping them unload, and with everything, they were done by 4pm. It was a great experience during a time of extreme stress and I would definitely recommend, and will use again, but personally hope I don't have to hire them again for a good long while.

Fred Shaw is the operations manager. They failed to move everything including kitchen cabinets, full rooms full of items, and pictures and rugs, they had to go back the next day to get the rest of my belongings, when they did they tried to charge me extra even though I had already paid for the full job. When they went back they did not pack the items they just threw them in boxes. The customer service is terrible and I have also reported to the BBB.

We are sorry we did not mearure up to expectations back in 2007. We since have won awards with the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, such as small business of the year in 2009. Reviewing the notes of your move the packing supplies and extra move time that were not charged were forgiven to help offset any of your frustations. We would be happy to provide you with a complimentary service if you call the office. Thank you.

They are really great when one wants to move. They were very efficient and very hard working and I have nothing I can complaint about. The price depends on how many furniture I have, and how long it took them to move from the old place to the new one. They charged us for an hour for three people and one if the guy was huge and he could even move a dumpster by himself, and he was so good that he was also gentle with the furniture. It was amazing how efficient they moved all furniture's like couch and very thoroughly. We did not see any damage and they were also so polite. Everything was so efficient including payment. They are cheaper than any other company.

I would never use this company again. They came unprepared to move a refrigerator which was fully stated in my move. They scratched antique furniture. Had to tell them to wrap certain furniture (the antiques esp.). They forgot a closet - lucky I had to go back for "broom cleaning." Attitude stunk. Granted it was very hot that day but they were provided with water and lunch. When they presented me with the bill, I was shocked but paid. When I called to complain, turns out they charged me DOUBLE. However, they were quick in having someone come out and help the damaged pieces.

We're sorry you didn't have a good experience with our company. We're glad that we could resolve the damages quickly for you. We are always striving to better our service. We have put in place better operational procedures since 2009, that has helped catch any potential issues early on during move day.

We're not novices to moving... we've moved between apartments and homes and have even made 2 international moves. This was by far the best move we've ever made. Two Men applied enough man-power to get the job done, they kept us informed every step of the way, followed through on a couple special requests (had to stop off to pick up a new piece of furniture from a store). Even tho we did our own packing, they took extra care in wrapping furniture, lamps, and pictures. Through our past moves we've experienced sullen movers who used our bathroom repeatedly for the after effects of a night of binge drinking, disappeared, and others who just didn't care. These guys worked non-stop and got the job done. They were the most polite and professional crew! We are extremely pleased with their service and would use them again and would absolutely recommend them.

Also if you need to move a piano, you probably want to search a more experienced company. The move has to be done in 2 different time. One for the household items. The 2nd time for the piano due to inability of hte first crew to handle it. Initially the representative estimated 4-6 hours of time for the whole move including the piano. It ends up over 7 hours. Also one of the 3 crew team sent has some injury on his foot. When I saw he was slightly limping, I asked if he should be resting. He told me he just hurt his Achilles and should be OK. But It obviously slowed him down. I told the representative on the phone that I will need to move an upright piano to the second floor of my new condo. I repeatedly expressed my concern and I was especially concerned that the staircase turn is tight, though I measured it and it was just enough. He was very sure that they can do it. It turned out that the crew has no clue how to move a piano. They stand there, pondered for more than 15min how to even move the piano out of my apartment. There is no stairs and only a door step. Also he quoted me $75 and it turned out in the end the price for moving a full size upright is $150. When they try to move the piano in my new condo upstairs, it became obvious that the crew cannot do it. After I complained, another representative, Mark, took the task to arrange another crew to move the piano later. And that was done a week later. The move was difficult as expected. And caused some damage to the staircase walls and the trim. But Mark arranged for repair immediately. I will say that Mark is very professional, courteous, and prompt in making the arrangement and carried it out. I was very satisfied with him.
Description of Work: Moved from a 2 bedroom condo to 3 bedroom condo. The 2 bedroom has 2 stories. the 3 bedroom has 3 stories. Also moved a Yamaha U2 upright piano from 1st floor of the original condo to the 2nd floor of the new condo.

I needed to vacate the apartment that my late parents lived in for 60 years. I called the company and was given a quote. They sent 3 men and a truck. They were scheduled to arrive at 10am in Manhattan. On the day they got lost but called me fairly soon after 10am to report where they were and ask for directions. They arrived shortly after that. They were friendly and courteous and worked very fast even though I was paying by the hour. They also were very accommodating and patient when we asked them to make 3 additional stops in Manhattan before they delivered the bulk of the stuff to our house in Connecticut. They had to load the truck based on the order of stops - we were donating some things to a homeless shelter, putting several items in a storage facility and delivering some things to my brother's apartment in Manhattan. And we were a bit disorganized as to what was going where. They also had to negotiate narrow Manhattan streets to get to these places. When we arrived back in Connecticut they insisted on making sure the floor was wiped dry of melted snow even though I said it was not necessary. I was also pleased that the bill was very close to what I was hoping for.

We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with our company. After going back to your file and reviewing the services we provided we get a clear understanding as of why you had a 3 day service. You had a FULL move, FULL pack, and FULL unpack. Although we are a company that is known to go above and beyond for all of our customers it is impossible for us to perform a 3 day service in just 2 days. Also it is our understanding by the notes in our system that we were in contact with you about your damages and that you were to send us a quote for the repairs. Please feel free to give us a call to discuss further at 203-831-9300 ask for Yara Almodovar.

We expected them at 8AM, they came @ 9:30AM, we could not reach anyone at the office, we anguished 1 1/2 hrs. We hired Two Men and a Truck to load 5 rooms of furniture into a Penske 26 foot truck we rented to drive cross country for our move. Chris, the man I talked to on the telephone spent a lot of time educating me and being very specific about what their service would be, what we would need in terms of boxes and moving blankets. Their original estimate was $1,400. and the final bill ended up being only $1,000. for 4 men @$185.00 an hour, so the price was more than satisfactory. The men were professional and worked hard. I know there is a balance they have to strike between working very fast and taking care with the furniture. Most of our furniture was heavy oak, rock maple or walnut, and it was not in perfect condition to begin with, sporting minor scratches at the bases from our dogs, nor was it clean nor were most drawers emptied, which is the ideal. Of the 21 large and heavy pieces of furniture, all but two had new, significant scratches upon our arrival at our destination; this was from, from the furniture not being wrapped with the blankets and then taped with the shrink wrap, and the other furniture loaded on top did the etching as we drove the truck 2700 miles. Only one corner cabinet with a glass front was wrapped in blankets and then shrink taped, the others had blankets draped on top and sides. Luckily, an application of "Watco Danish Oil Dark Walnut" helped to hide the raw wood scratches. One lamp got knocked over in the house and broken, no big deal. Also, there were big scratches in the floor in the hallway and the doorway to the master bedroom where the furniture was pulled across it, not carried, not put on a caster or even a rug. I'll let the next owner of the house deal with that problem. For my part, I should have taken another two days and been ready for the movers, as it was, I was still emptying drawers when they arrived and everything was chaotic and not well organized. To their credit, the movers just kept working, and carrying furniture around piles of stuff. However, the truck was packed fully, to within inches from the back, we had too much stuff to fit in the truck and ended up renting a storage room for the overflow. The movers were very good squeezing every last thing they possibly could into the truck for us, and no worries about the load shifting it was in there so tightly. One minor gripe was a "$45.00 fuel surcharge" which was not in the original estimate. Two Men and a Truck charges by the hour, door to door, and my estimator, Chris, said the movers would come from Danbury, CT (12 miles) to my home in Ridgefield CT. The movers told me they came from Stamford, CT (20+ miles). Either way, I would NOT have used $45.00 in fuel to drive that fully loaded, 26 foot truck from Stamford to Ridgefield and back. All in all, these men got the job done and came in under the estimate.

Based on Angie's List reviews and their #1 JD Power ranking, Two Men and a Truck was the only company we wanted to work with. Their estimator was prompt and professional, but seriously under-estimated the move. He thought we'd need only 1 truck and 3 guys, and that our "worst case scenario" cost would be $2500, but we needed 6 guys and 2 trucks (which we filled completely). The movers were courteous and fast, and a couple of them in particular seemed like really great guys. There were a few damages, which they were prompt in addressing.

The crew was very helpful and understanding. It was a little confusing because I had to decide what went where as we went along. They had a great understanding of space and were able to recommend which pieces would fit in various locations. The apartment building had only one rather small elevator which necessitated many trips but they worked continuously without complaint.

They arrived exactly on time, were polite, professional, and good-humored for the entire time, even with chaos swirling around them. They took my cell phone number and called -- as agreed -- when they were near the destination. Unloading went quickly, and they were careful about placement of furniture. It was a move where nothing went wrong except one small broken piece on a drawer handle which they fixed for me immediately. They put together everything that needed to be assembled exactly right--and they kept an eye out for the cats to be sure they didn't escape the house during the move.

I bought some furniture while I was overseas, the shipping company cleared customs and transported to me but they do not deliver into the house, so I had to ask Two Men and A Truck to move for me. They gave me a minimum of two hours at $105/hour plus a fuel surcharge of $20. The hour starts/ends from/return to their hub; they estimated 15 minutes each way, I thought it was reasonable. I told them the number of pieces of furniture to be moved and set up the appointment. They arrived within the time frame, moved them as I instructed and with great care. They also helped me to unwrap them. The job was done in about an hour. They did their job with great courtesy and respect. The said to me after paying the bill: "Thank you for using Two Men and A Truck." I tipped $20 each.
Description of Work: Moving furniture from garage into the house and move a large fish tank into the garage.
