Renewit Window and Glass Repair

Our church was built in 1958 and has a main window looking out over the property. The window is 25 feet tall and 15 wide. It has 42 panes that were various shapes including rectangles, trapezoids, and triangles. The glass was single ply, mounted in a redwood frame. Over the years some of the panes had cracked, some caulking loosened and the overall appearance and thermal efficiency had degraded. For the last several years we had made attempts to find contractors to replace the glass with double pane windows, but the size and height of the window, plus the need to custom make 42 panes of double pane low E glass in the various shapes and in precision sizing made it next to impossible to find someone to take on the job. Renewit, was the exception. Vincent and Jessie brought in scaffolding to reach the highest panes, took detailed measurements, had 42 new double panes manufactured to spec, and working from a lift, replaced and resealed the entire window. To finish the job, they re-stained the redwood frame work inside and out. Restoring our beautiful window to like new condition. This was a complex job for any contractor to take on. One that most refused to bid on. Not only was the project handled professionally, Vincent and Jessie are great to work with. Without reservation, I would recommend them for any window job no matter how small or how big.

After 10 months, I still have a window glass that almost works as a freezer! The window glass was replaced in January 2023 after the previous one cracked. However, the glass started to have severe condensation right away. Jesse came back twice or 3 times to check what was wrong and insisted nothing was wrong with the new glass. He reinstalled the glass and tried other things. But no improvement at all. Then Vince refused to send Jesse out again. Fast forward to the end of October, the glass started to have condensation again when it was in the mid 30 degrees outside. Jesse came out again but still insisted nothing could be wrong with the glass. He was guessing whether the condensation was caused by the vent in the ceiling, or the desk in front of the window, or something else. None of the explanations made sense to me, except a defective replacement glass. Finally, we agreed to switch the new glass to another window to test it out. The new glass had condensation again in the other window that same night. Obviously, the glass Vince ordered was defective at the very beginning. Vince agreed to order another glass but asked me to PAY AGAIN, for the labor, saying the glass has a 10yr warranty but there is no warranty on the labor. This is obviously wrong, as he gave me a bad glass to start with, and this has cost me a lot of time and frustration. What is worse is that he suggested going to court if I am not happy. I will just do that, if BBB cannot help get this corrected.

Vince came checked the window to be repaired, found the part and ordered it, then set up an installation time for that Tuesday and had his helper come to repair the window as promised. I appreciated Vince's forthrightness about the job - replacing all the window panes in the house and replacing the putty - a nasty, awful job no one really wants to do. I had already replaced one pane and re-puttied it, and I knew I didn't want to do anymore! The price seemed fair, and Jesse got the work done in two weeks. They also made screens for six windows in a studio that never had them. Vince talked me out of replacing my attic windows and just re-puttying them, which saved me quite a bit of time and money. I'm grateful for the good work and getting it done quickly.

Easy pricing (quote fixed cost per window/screen) and then Jessie was out at my earliest convenience to do the job. Jessie was easy to work with and did a great job / was a one man show. Measured, cut screens on property and installed. Front to back easiest experience with home repair could have hoped for. Highly recommend.

I just used Renewit to install new vinyl windows to replace old wooden ones. Vince was great to work with, and the job was done well and faster than expected.

Vince was knowledgeable and helped me understand my options for window screens. He worked out supply issues that we're all facing with the pandemic and received the parts so he could get the job done. His installation guys were great and the work was excellent. Importantly they noticed that quite a few of my sashes had been unhooked from their counterweights, which could have caused them to come crashing down. They checked and reset most of them.
