Extremely disappointed. Horrible management and customer service. Cancelled our opening at the last minute and when we called to complain the manager was extremely rude. Do yourself a favor and find a different pool company.

Cleaned pool twice but invoice shows they wanted to charge us for 4 visits. The first cleaning went very well and we were very pleased. However they did show up without the proper chemicals. From then on, they showed up outside of our arranged appointment times and days, despite our initial discussion with them that we keep pool gates locked for safety reasons, mostly neighborhood kids and small children next door. They disregarded our safety concerns. Broke our filter basked and did not inform us, we had to find out on our own. They replaced it with a smaller basket that did not fit the pool. Changed out our filters for older ones, and took ours. We asked them to measure for a pool cover and they never mentioned a cost to measure, but tried to charge us $400 for the measuring ( other contractors charged us $0 and one charged us only $50) so their cost to measure was widely outside market. Their cost for the cover was also double what we ended up paying for same quality cover ( that company did not charge to measure and spent longer on site measuring properly). Not responsive to our emails to address the incorrect billing. Needless to say we went with another for our pool servicing and pool cover. To date, they refuse to adjust our invoice to show properly. Beware! Update: It is sad that many pool companies work in concert to defraud companies. When I switched from one irreputable pool company to another, I didn't realize they would collaborate to continue to take advantage of me further. Perry Pool refuses to explain why they charged me $400 for the cost of a pool cover measure, which I obtained from another pool company at 1/3rd of the final cost with no charge for measuring. Perry Pools also refused to explain why they wanted my neighbor's children at risk by leaving my pool fence unlocked just for their own convenience, instead of showing up in the time windows I expected them when we are home. ( Most insurance companies won't insure your home if you leave your pool fence unlocked, an unlocked gate to a child is the same as no gate at all when they see a pool children just want to swim and often with negative consequences but this pool company doesn't care). Finally, to date, they haven't taken any legal action against me because they don't have a leg to stand on. They are also sitting with a check which I generousely wrote them over 6 months ago, but haven't deposited it because they want to defraud me out of $600 + in additional monies they owed me, by terrorizing me. Oh, and the other company, I'll write a review about them as well - thank you for reminding me how bad they were. And thank you, Angies list for providing a forum for exposing bad companies who may have been able to be in business for 44 years, taking advantage of customers for many years, before there was social media and Angies list, we had no recourse. Happy ending, we now have a wonderful pool company working with us. Why would we join Angies list if we weren't looking for good people to work with, sometimes it just takes a while to find them. ( We are members of Angies list, Perry Pools is not, and their only defense is to disrespect the customer. )

Perry Pools and Spas has been Owner operated for 44 years. We provide professional, licensed and insured work to discerning clients in Fairfield County. We have customers who have been with us for 4 decades, we service some of the children of our customers, now they are all grown up. We did not stay in business for 44 years by creating a poor customer experience. It is a shame that today people who don't want to pay their bills, just resort to using Social Media to trash a business and scare the business into dropping the pursuit of payment. I am not going to get into every detail between myself and the customer, but let me at least provide two of many inaccurate parts of [Member's name removed] recollection of events. She writes "Cleaned pool twice but invoice shows they wanted to charge us for 4 visits". FACT: My men showed up to clean the pool 4 times, once we were locked out and could not get in. The invoice I have in my system, and she received, shows she was charged for 3 visits, I did not charge her for the fourth visit, so I am not quite sure why she wrote in her review "4 visits". She adds "However they did show up without the proper chemicals". FACT the customer asked if we could use her chemicals to keep HER costs down, although not standard practice, I agreed. Futhermore, all my service trucks carry a two day supply of all necessary chemicals, whatever was needed could have been sold to her, but those were not her instructions. I could go on, but instead let me explain how I came to work for the customer. Customer contacted me late in the season to start cleaning her pool, soon after starting work for the customer I received a call from another pool company, her prior pool company. Customer had apparantly told them she was switching to my company. It's a small industry and we know one another. Without revealing specifics, the phone call was a warning about Customer and the money she still owed them for services rendered for the first part of the 2012 season. I was advised to be very careful about extending too much credit to her. I guess I should have listened to the warning, She took advantage of two pool companies in one season. I will not comment further on this issue and have consulted my attorney on this matter, I reserve the right to take all the appropriate steps to collect on this debt. Chris Mayle V.P.
