The in-store staff led by Jennifer is very good. Jennifer is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She helped us decide what pool equipment to purchase, told us about the warranties and set up installation for us. She's smart and clearly knows her stuff. We've had water tested at the store and they tell you what chemicals are needed and in what sequence to add them to the pool. For pool supplies, I'd go back. Early in the season, it's best to go earlier in the day as they are very thorough with the water tests and help you find the right chemicals so it can be time consuming if a lot of people are in the store.

I had an appointment time 12 - 5pm. They showed up at 8:30 pm after 4+ phone calls to the national number. I could not cancel as then I would have had to reschedule and I had already waited over 3 weeks. They removed and cleaned the pool cover (hope they did a good job since it is brand new (last fall) and it was dark by the time they showed up. They did mechanical work to prepare the pump, filter and heater for swim season. From the description on the website, it looks as if they help you get your pool in order. However, I had only seen the in-store signs and no one told me when I called to make the appointment that I needed to go into the store and buy the opening kit. But that didn't matter since by the time they finished the initial work at 10 pm they weren't about to offer up any information that might mean they had to stay any longer. The guys didn't even ask if I had any chemicals and they don't test the pool or clean it. it took over a week of vacuuming, brushing and going into Leslie's everyday with a water test before the pool water was ready for anything other than the frogs which were very happy that this large pond appeared. Here's what the website says: " Our friendly and knowledgeable technicians would be happy to come out to your house and help you get your pool in top shape and ready for swimmers. Every pool has specific needs, so count on Leslie?s to give your pool the individualized care to help it stay clean and clear all season long." It should read let our overworked tired, hungry technicians take off your pool cover, fire up your equipment and send you to our store so you can buy the chemicals and other things you'll need before you'll be able to swim in 10 days.

Description of Work: Leslie's is a national company that provides pool opening and closing service as well as maintenance and repair services. Three days ago they closed my pool here in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. There were two pleasant young men who seemed knowledgable. The first problem occurred when they broke a fitting off my chlorinator. They said they'd fix it next Spring when they come to open the pool. They will not be invited back. When I just took a stroll in my back yard, I could hear the circulator pump running. They never unplugged it! Nor did they remove the trip switches from the timer. So for three days my pump has been running with no water in it! I won't know until the Spring whether or not the pump has been damaged. Additionally, they had blocked open the gate to my back yard and left it that way. I have notified Leslie's Service Department that my credit card company has been requested to charge back the amount that I had originally authorized for what turned out to be non-service, and that if I discover in the Spring that my circulator pump has been damaged by running without water they will have the choice of repairing/replacing it or appearing in small claims court. Use them at your own risk.

The people in this store are exceptional. They are always kind, tolerant, informative, and friendly. As new pool owners, we completely loved how they guided us along, never sold us anything we couldn't use, and when we were stuck, helped us out with as much info as they could. Their service people are great for jobs like pool closings.
