The service itself was very good. We are not real happy with the doors, we are thinking of calling them back in. The windows were good, but the doors haven't held up as well as we expect, but this is an older house, so there is some settling. We just got caught up with them as we were walking out, and it was the easiest way to go, that is why we used them. The windows were Anderson windows, and they did a good job, we had a problem with one of them, and they came back and did it right away.
Description of Work: We had new windows installed through Home Depot. They did about a dozen windows. They had also installed doors for us in the past.

Awful- Home Depot sent out a very nice man to measure and photograph the space for wall to wall carpeting and padding. He actually took photographs and mapped out the space on a tablet device. This was very impressive. There should have been no misconceptions or surprises as to the space and the furniture to be moved. The installation crew arrived within the window they mentioned. Once they got there they began to complain about the furniture to be moved that they should have known about. We were told they would do all of that. They installed the carpet in three bedrooms, a dressing room and a hallway. They asked my wife to sign a form that they were neat and clean and timely. The only problem is that they made her sign it before the job was done and we had really seen what was installed. The space was unusual but they had all that information prior to accepting and pricing the job!!! They were there for a long time with a decent sized crew. Long story short, the carpet looks good but the corners that were cut were awful. Closets do not have any padding and we discovered when they left that they somehow cut wires so now one bedroom is without lights and there is no telephone service in the master bedroom (I did find the sliced wire).. My wife called the installers (based in New Jersey) and basically was told too bad.....Home Depot Salesperson in Norwalk said the same thing pretty much. So now I need to find an electrician to fix what these installers did. Guess next time we use a reputable carpet store!! My wife was pleased with the Salesperson's professionalism right up till the sale was closed.

Of all contractors upgrading my home in the past two years--new bathroom, new oil-fired boiler and oil tank, new landscaping, new automatic generator, exterior painting--Home Depot was by far the most professional. They advised me in detail in advance on choices to be made, delivered on all plans, and adapted economically to unexpected conditions (hidden rotted roof boards and leaky flashings). I propose them for your Happiness Page.
Description of Work: For $17,000 (about half the quote of a highly recommended local roofing company) Home Depot put a new roof (29 squares, 30-lb underlayment) and new gutter/downspout system (293 feet) on my 50-year-old 3-bedroom colonial. They removed both layers of my old roof, replaced two rotted 4x8 plywood sheathing panels, and installed features we never had: 30-inch eave ice shields, 8-inch perimeter drip edges, and a soffit-and-peak-vent system. Two warranties: 20 years materials and labor on manufacturing or installation flaws, backed by the world’s largest asphalt shingle maker, GAF; and 30 years on durability up to 110-mile-per-hour windstorms, backed by Home Depot. Both warranty documents specify their transfer to the new owner if I should sell my home. Home Depot informed me that a $1,500 federal income tax credit was invited by my new Energy Star asphalt shingles.
