Description of Work: First Step has done my regular landscaping and fertilizing. My lawn is looking good. They also have done some masonry work.

Description of Work: I used First Step Landscaping to do spring and fall cleanup. They mow weekly and do all of the edging and weeding of all of the flowerbeds. It is pretty much total lawn care except for fertilization.

Description of Work: I chose First Step based on other reviews on Angie's List. I have been very pleased with the work provided by the company. I purchased a foreclosure house and the final project was to reclaim the yard. My original lawn service only works in Greenwich and Stamford so I called Luis. He met me when arranged, I walked him through what I wanted. His crew was busy with other spring clean ups but told me the work would be done in a week. The next time I arrived at the house the 5 foot weeds and grass were gone and looked like a home again, bushes had been trimmed and falls leaves gone. I was very impressed and decided to continue with First Step for weekly lawn service. Following Sandy I had a tree come down in the driveway. I called Luis and left a message about what I wanted done, because of my travel schedule I never had time to follow up but when I returned there was a letter from Luis with the cost and the work to be done. It was great he took it upon himself to come and look rather than me having to make an appointment.

Description of Work: First Step Landscaping did two things for us: (1) fixed a drainage issue on a patio/entryway which had caused pooling and ice in the winter; and (2) 3 season lawn care including bringing our totally weed-filled, patchy lawn back from the dead to a lush, beautiful lawn. We have been very happy with them. They are very professional and do exactly what they say they will. Easy to communicate and discuss options and different approaches. The drainage issue was resolved exactly as we discussed with a drainage trench system installed. We will use them again.

Description of Work: Spring cleanup of a vacant home I am trying to sell followed by monthly mowing.

Description of Work: Hired First Step to clean a large yard that had not been cleaned or mowed in over a year. The home had been empty and unused and yard needed leaves to be cleared from lawn, walkways and drive. There were several small trees that had fallen and needed to be removed and the lawn needed to be cut. First Step also cut out dead bushes and trimmed those which were overgrown.

Description of Work: This was one of the companies I contacted to receive an estimate for installing sod on in my 250 sq ft backyard, and to create a perimeter along my fence of soil for planting vegetables and flowers.

Description of Work: First Step did the spring cleanup today and after this winter, they had their work cut out for them. They cut back all the ornamental grasses, rose bushes etc, raked all the beds, cleaned off the terraces and driveway. They even put the blacktop curbing back in place that the plows had broken up and left on our front lawn.

Description of Work: The $50 is for each time that he mows the lawn. He also sprays fertilizer and the weed control. That is a separate charge. He will also plant bushes or move things if I want him to. If he does something like that, he will of course charge more. If he puts plants in, he guarantees them for a year. The $50 charge is actually just for the mowing.
