Beware of this company. While the work is good so far as we can tell, dealing with sales rep Patrick Kennedy is like dealing with a slippery eel -- and it will cost you. At the first meeting he delivered his sales pitch and came off as an experienced professional. Once the work started he became a different person. He lies, denies and blames everyone else for whatever problem arises. The work on our house was supposed to have been done over two days. We were advised to vacate the house while it was going on and for the nights following because of the smell. We ended up booking a hotel. The second day we were away we got a phone call from our contractor saying that no insulation work had been done during the two days we had been away. We were supposed to be dealing directly with Pat Kennedy but he never called us to let us know of any problems. When we finally talked to him we found that they were delayed by other work and a truck breakdown. We were then promised that the entire job would be completed by the end of the third day. Contrary to everything we were previously told, Pat said that we wouldn't have to vacate that day because the smell wouldn't be so bad. (Why was it not going to smell this time when twice the work was being done in a shorter period?) When we returned home after two wasted nights in a hotel, the insulation crew was indeed working . After spending two hours in the house, the smell was giving us headaches, which meant a third night in a hotel. We talked to Pat Kennedy about reimbursement for the two unecessary nights of hotels. Pat had already told our contractor that he would foot the hotel expense for two nights. When Pat came over to settle the bill, it was a different story. He said that if he took off for the hotel rooms, his bosses would make him pay for it. After a lot of back and forth and Pat's expert playing of the pity card, we reluctantly and unhappily agreed to be reimbursed for only one night of the three. We felt screwed. This is not a company that can be trusted. Go somewhere else.
Description of Work: We had closed cell insulation blown into the ceiling and walls of our attic and the ceiling of the garage under our kitchen and living room.

Not great work. But more importantly, we got a call from their lawyer saying they had not been paid by our contractor. We said we HAD paid our contractor and he even told them that and then tried to work out a payment plan to them. Instead, they immediately filed a lein on our house! AVOID this company at all costs!!! We now must hire an attorney to remove the lein for something we paid for & their lawyer was told we paid for. They will go after the homeowner -- even if they know it isn't right...probably because they know the homeowner (especially one from Greenwich) is presumed to have deeper pockets & they think we will will just (double) pay to avoid the arrgravation, hiring an attorney, etc. AGAIN, avoid this company - they are now owned by a nationwide group that has horrible, low-end lawyers who operate like bill collectors - very threatening & not ethical.
Description of Work: Installed gutters and other work, such as insulation.

Fairfield Insulation did a horrible job. They had to come 3 times to complete the closed cell foam insulation application. They missed spots, did not apply a consistent 3 inch layer, and were very messy. However, after much effort on our end, they did finally complete that component. Since they took significantly longer to apply the foam insulation, the window available for applying fire proofing had really passed, as there is a well documented temperate requirement for curing the fire proof coating. Instead of waiting, they mixed in a 'curing agent' and applied the fire proof coating, when the high temperature was around 40 degrees F. They assured us this was ok. After the drying time had elapsed we moved vehicles back into the garage. Approximately 2 weeks later, temperatures rose above freezing and the fire proof coating dripped onto the floor and our vehicles. Today, several months after application, it is still wet (when not frozen) and dripping. The company has made no effort to deal with the impact of their unprofessional application of the product but claims they will return when temperatures are appropriate to re-apply the product. However, at this point we are not able to use are garage and are incurring loss. Basically Fairfield Insulation seems to use untrained, unqualified, temporary workers for their projects. The workers had little understanding of the products and applications and did a very poor, messy installation.
Description of Work: Fairfield Insualtion was engaged to spray 3 inches of closed cell foam insulation on our building's garage ceiling. They were also to apply a fire proof coating to the surface of the insulation.
