Clear Cut Tree - SavATree

I think overall, the process went very poorly.

Easy process from start to finish. Making appointment was pleasant and easy. SavATree did the work as promised, with no stress on my part. I wasn't home when it was done, but it was done well.

SavATree contacted me shortly after purchase of Big Deal to schedule and appointment to inspect my property. I met with Michael, a certified arborist, who looked at my lawn for the aeration service. While here, he also looked at the trees and shrubs in my yard and made several observations and suggestions. His comments were all accurate and appreciated. He did suggest some additional tree work that should be performed (quite correctly), but did not assault me with a hard sell. He was a very nice guy and he knew what he was talking about. On the agreed day, crew arrived to aerate my lawn. I think it was 5 guys with 3 machines. I could be wrong, because by the time I realized that they were aerating my lawn they were putting the machines back on the truck and the foreman was coming up my front steps to tell me that they were finished. After they had gone, I took a walk around the whole yard, front and back. They did the whole thing. No corners cut. They did a really nice job. I will hire them again.

I have not used them yet on this deal but in the past their work has been good It just takes a very long time until they can fit you in their schedule. I suppose because they are good they are in high demand That is what I first thought, but they have been totally unresponsive, so I do not think it is because they are good that they do not respond. I think it is because they do not return calls or emails, It is too frustrating to get an appointment with them. I had to use another tree service company to perform the work.

Because the lawn aerator I can rent is getting heavier every year and more difficult to remove from the SUV, I decided to use this company for that service. They were prompt, the boss came out for an inspection tour as well as telling me about the tree work that needed to be done, and when the workers came out to do the aeration a week or so later, everything seemed to go smoothly. I hope to get them back for the tree work before spring.

I purchased a coupon through Angie's List and was supposed to contact company. I forgot and received an estimate in my door one day. SavATree came out and looked at my property and offered suggestions on how to improve my lawn and areas to concentrate on. I thought this was great! I had not contacted them yet. I received an email the next day to schedule my appointment. We set everything up and on the day of service I had an emergency and was unable to be home. SavATree rescheduled my appointment and the employee contacted me just prior to arriving. He was professional and courteous and very thorough. I would definitely recommend SavATree to family and friends. I will use their services again!

Went fine. They just showed up without calling to determine the scale of the job. I received an email that they were coming, but they didn't. Got another one saying they were coming again, weather permitting, but that was the day of a storm. Got one more saying they were coming again. They came, did the job fine, and we received an emailed invoice. No real issues, appeared professional and workman-like. I would have preferred them letting me know they were coming to look at the job.

They said they’d need to come out and inspect the lawn. Then they said they would have to charge me a lot more to do the work so I said forget it – it felt like a bait and switch.

They were very responsive and willing to meet my dates for when I needed the job completed. Overall the service met all expectations and didn't have any problems.

College grad doing summer work with little experience. Aeration done inconsistently on the long end, without going horizontally on the short end...ie. side to side. Poor coverage. Generally like Sav.ATree but disappointed on this occasion. You get what you pay for rings true.

It turned out well, we were satisfied with their service.

They arrived as scheduled and completed the work as specified.

Awful experience. After purchasing the coupon - $ 140 for $ 300 work. It took several months before we could arrange a face to fact to discuss work. I simply wanted to have the shrubs trimmed in the front yard. The quote was excessive and the representative explained that the workers had to be compensated from the time they left the office - and this was built into the estimate. The fact that I lived in Easton and they had to Drive from Norwalk used about $ 187 of the cost. Ridiculous. I had used Sav a tree for over 5 years to provide lawn treatment and other special projects. I was very disappointed in their unwillingness to provide us the $ 300 worth of shrub triming for the $ 140. So outraged at the outcome, I asked for a refund and cancelled our annual lawn maintenance agreement.

The Representative was very responsive and helpful, but after further analysis the total lawn care service from this company was going to be more expensive then another competitor. I decided not move forward on this Big Deal.

It went well. They did what they said they would do, did it when they said they would do it and did it for the price agreed with no add-ons or up-sell.

They cut back some dead limbs on some of our larger trees. I was pleased with the service and would recommend them.

I would use them again to do the aeration.

Roger was extremely knowledgable. He lstened carefully to my concerns and then suggested what he could do to address my issues. he wrote up the estimate on the spot and we agreed on a date for the work to be done. They actually arrived a few days early to complete part of the work, and finshed by the agreed date. To say we were pleased with the results would be an understatement. The Japanese Maple that is the centerpiece of our yard has never looked better. And the Norway Spruce looks equally amazing. When looking out our back windows or sitting on our deck we no longer feel like we live in a tree house. We would absolutely hire Roger again.

We were able to schedule the arborist's initial visit fairly quickly. Tom was nice, extremely professional and knowledgable of the product and even gave us advice on the condition of our trees. We played phone tag when it came to scheduling the actual application, but it wasn't anything to complain about. The technician came out, the treatment only took 15 mins to apply, and he did a thorough job. We are extremely pleased with the product and the company. Hopefully the deal will be offered again next year!

Bernardo and his crew did a terrific job. Trees hadn't been taken care of in some time and were in bad need of pruning. Everything looks fantastic now -- he has a very good aesthetic sense in addition to knowing what to do to keep things healthy. They worked quickly and cleaned everything up afterwards. We had estimates that were lower, but we also had one that was quite a lot higher. I think their price was extremely fair for the quality of work they performed. We are also having them fertilize shrubs, trees, and lawn and treat for pests in the spring, will review that work separately.

Overall the project went very well. I thought the original quote was a bit pricey and when I tried to negotiate the person I spoke with said that the price was fair for the service required. I was in a bit of a time crunch and didn't have a lot of other options so I decided to hire this company. Either way they did a great job and I was happy with the work. They came when they said they would and cleaned up afterwards. I would definitely use this service again but if you are looking for an inexpensive solution this is not it. This company definitely has very knowledgable employees who were able to give me good advice about managing the health of the trees on my property.

Tried to sell me more services than I wanted. Definitely very into what is best for the plants. Price was considerably higher than plain tree services.

They sent a representative out who walked over on the property with me. He suggested some of the pruning. He knew that even if one of the trees was technically on city property and the branches were overhanging on to my property, I had the right to actually trim it. He suggested spinning some others that were growing into what he called my centerpiece tree. He gave me some good advice on what to do. He said it would take a couple of weeks, but it didn't take that long. The only thing that surprised me was that they didn't notify me when they were coming. They just came out and did it. It was sooner than I expected. They did a good job. It was fine. Their price seemed reasonable to me, but I didn't do any comparison shopping.

We had 2 huge trees down across our lawn and driveway after the hurricane. We had managed to clear the driveway with a chain saw, but we needed the trees cut up and moved. Ron (from Sav-a-tree in Danbury) came and gave us an estimate for that work and some other tree work we needed done. They cut the trunks into lengths for splitting (for firewood), and chipped the branches for mulch. They will be coming back later to do the other tree work, because they have a reduced price for work done in the off season (November and later). The only problem was that I had said the work was not urgent, and they didn't come to do the work for awhile, but when I called and left a message they came the next day.

Sav-a-Tree quote was just a little higher than the company I eventually used but not by much. In fact, these 2 quotes were well under the others I received that I thought I should write a review. The arborist was professional, informative and provided me with a list of simple tasks that I could do on my own trees. If I couldn't schedule my first choice (who I had used before) I would have used Sav-a-tree.
