Candide's crew cuts our lawn with golf-course precision. It's 2 acres with a lot of edges, a barn, stone walls, fences, porches, a pool and a driveway with Belgian block, plus a hill fronting the property where it has to be cut on an angle for 200 feet. They do not miss one blade of grass, though I don't know how they do it. Lots of meticulous attention with weed whackers occurs. We needed the loose surface around our pool redone from scratch. They did a fabulous job, with a strong foundation so it would never crack or lose being level. That was a couple of years ago and it looks like it was done yesterday. Prices are fair and the work is tops. You can't do better. I have seen water gardens they install, and they are gorgeous, but we do not have one.

Started with a larger project, project overall was ok; price was somewhat high. After, I contracted with Candide to cut grass for the season; at the beginning of the season, a small patch of grass was missed, I pointed it out for next cut and I mowed it myself. Candide asked me to take a photo of the small patch and I sent it to him. A few days later Candide sent an email stating that he was not going to cut the grass any longer because my “expectations” were too high. I tried to contact him after to discuss what his problem was but he no longer answered his phone and I was told by a relative that he had personal problems to deal with and could no longer service the property. I told her that I could understand that sometimes things happen but that it was not good business form to drop customers, making multiple excuses while leaving customers without service. Although Candide is personally likable, I found his service unreliable.

Excellent. Work was professional and better than I had hoped for. It was planned as a one day project but as the first day ended Candide wasn't happy with the way it looked. It was supposed to rain the next day or two, so he left his equipment and returned after the area had dried. Spent another half day and the area looks amazing.

Candide was responsive and kept me up to date on when the job was likely to start. When another job ran over and he had to delay it by a day, he let me know, brought more guys and got it done in a day. Very happy with the work performed.

Candide and his staff are amazing. They have the ability to create natural and unique art in and with the environment while preserving nature, yet meeting the needs of their clients and meeting the regulations of the State and Town. I highly recommend them to any individual property owner, business owner, or municipality. They will work with you at any level, are responsive, reasonable, on schedule, and on budget.

They came promptly for the estimate, submitted the estimate within a few days and started the work within a week. The work on the wall was done in a day, and the sidewalk was removed in a few hours. They cleaned the area to our satisfaction.

Responsiveness was excellent. People always showed up on time and stayed in touch either via e-mail or phone during the estimating process The attention to detail is good - communication was good to ensure no misunderstanding. From what I could see, the quality of the work would have been high. Final proposal pricing was higher than expected. Maybe it's because I am new to CT and don't realize the cost of these project in the area. In the Midwest, I could have a similar project done at less than 1/3 of what this estimate came in. I also have experience doing this type of work myself (stone work and retaining walls) - just don't have the time to devote to the size of the project envisioned. However, seeing the pricing has caused me to re-evaluate my options and I found the project could still be done with different materials, a little less scope, and doing it myself for much less (1/4 of the quoted amount). It comes down to how much one wants to spend on the work. Candide seems like a wonderful company to work with. Just did not work out for me on this project.

Candide, was easy to deal with. Quick to respond to emails. We met to discuss the project. I had a quote within a day or 2. Candide clearly understood what was required, he gave me confidence that he would handle everything which he duly did. Excellent job, completed swiftly with minimum hassle. Thanks Candide!

Reviewed a one acre property that I just moved to, gave great advice and were very responsive to my needs as well as pointing out garden pros and cons. Started with a weekly team as well as a spring maintenance team almost immediately. I highly recommend Candide and Elizabeth.

I wos so pleased the the professionalism and quality of the workmanship performed. I was working to a time critical project. Candide and his crew showed up with a full crew of people, took great care to be mindful of disruptions to my yard and my neighbor's yard. The crew has worked with other subcontractors in a highly professional and helpful manner. I couldn't be more pleased with their work.

All went well during and after completion. There was one follow up visit for a minor problem .

Candide arrived on time and was very personable. He provided a proposal quickly and it was thorough and reasonable. If we were paying for the repair we might have chosen him to do the work but his was not the lowest quote by a small margin and the company that did the damage (and was paying for the repair) selected another bidder.

Candide and Elizabeth did a great job with our front and back yards. We were in need of landscaping and many of our bushes and shrubs needed trimming and cleaning up. Their crew cleaned up our front and back yards and planted nice shrubs/flowers around our tree in our front yard, along side our house, along our fence and deck in the back yards (we asked for perennials since they are less maintenance and come back every year). They took some of our existing shrubs/plants and replanted them in other areas and their ideas were great. They also cut down a big branch of a tree that had cut through the metal fence in our back yard and treated a tree in our backyard that had a disease (and so far, the tree looks much better). Overall, the job looks great and we are very happy. The crew did all of this work in less than 1 day. We asked for color and since the job was done in fall, we haven't seen the color yet, but we're looking forward to the spring! We will probably use Candide for spring cleaning so that we can best see the work they did in the fall.

I picked a very basic flagstone patio and was very happy with it.

They were very professional and very knowledgeable. They were attentive to the details. They also did a good job with the cleanup. They were pleasant to work with. We had seen some of the other work that they had done. They were also recommended by others. We went with them because the quality of their work was excellent. We were very pleased. We would highly recommend them.

The price of the material was probably too much but the end product looks really good. It was a little difficult getting an appointment at first, but someone came out and proposed the cheapest possible method of doing things. They finished the work in one single day because they had four people. I left a lot of messages and they would call back, but it was usually two days later.

Perfect. I called him to estimate grounds maintenance, he priced it fairly and executed on time. Handles anything we call him for.

They are really, really good. I've used them in the past and he was away when I needed some work done this year. They are a little expensive. He does really good work but he charges a little more for the tree work. You pay a little more for the quality of the work. They had the same price for the lawn cutting.

I pay yearly and he is not cheap. He is a very good person. Sometimes, I feel like he gives wrong advice. He has a lot of other people working for him because he does a lot of other stuff. That is where he gets expensive. We had used his fence guy before we knew him and he was a lot more expensive. We always have to remind him. We have been using him since last year.

I requested a price quote on a new driveway/steps to front door (landscape) over a month ago. I haven't heard from Candide since the day we met (beginning April) to discuss what I wanted/needed and he gave me his suggestions. What a waste of my time! Perhaps the job was too small? perhaps he got busy? regardless, it would have been nice to have heard something........anything. Definitely an "F" for this company. As I said......it would have been nice to have heard something.....anything! Why would I make that statement if I had heard back from Candide?! Regardless, HE is the professional, and if it takes weeks and weeks for a reply, why did he not say that when we met? I would have known what to expect. Unprofessional.

We were very happy with Candide Landscaping's service, estimates and the quality of their work. We would definitely hire them again and hope to hire them to landscape our yard in the near future.
