Quick estimate response. Delays after delay when it came to completing licensing and credit paperwork for HUD/FHA. Now the closing is at risk because he waited days to tell me he could not complete what I requested.
Description of Work: Glenn has been very responsive to quickly getting me an estimate for lead abatement. However, when the tires hit the road and I needed additional information from him with respect to a HUD/FHA closing, he did not come through. In fact, he kept promising to look at the paperwork and then get back to me. I called him and emailed him for at least 3 days and he continued to stall. He let me know today he is unable to do the necessary paperwork because he is going on vacation and is too busy. My closing was supposed to happen in two days but the paperwork from Glenn was the hold up. Now I can't close and don't have a place for my daughter and I to go. If he had just been honest from the beginning, I would have used someone else who could complete the paperwork in a timely manner. He stalled and it now is placing my closing at risk.

My husband and I were under contract to purchase a home, and the inspector had some concerns about potential asbestos containing materials that may have been improperly removed. (Pipes in the basement had residue of a potential ACM that a professional firm would not have missed.) We had Murdock come to take a look and give us an estimate for a proper remediation. When I called, everyone I spoke to was very helpful, they explained in detail the testing options and abatement process, and and they were able to get someone out to take a look within a day or two. They gave us some great information, including how to check records at the State Dept of Public Health (note that if we had found records, that would have meant we did not need their services). The gentleman who came out arrived exactly on time, was very professional and efficient, and gave us a verbal estimate. A written quote for services was emailed to me within a day or two of the visit. We did not end up purchasing this home as we discovered several other problems in addition to the asbestos, but my experience with Murdock was great and I would definitely call them again if I needed asbestos abatement services.
Description of Work: Gave an estimate for asbestos remediation.

Glenn Murdock, the owner, showed up promptly to examine my basement and prepare an estimate. He was very knowledgeable about the law and the health risks. The work took five days. His men showed up on time each day, put in a full eight hours, and were very responsive to any questions and concerns I had. Before starting, they had to build a containment chamber in my basement with negative air flow, so no asbestos fibers whooshed up into the main house or out the bulkhead door. After they finished, a technician from ChemScope in North Haven came to take air samples and confirm that we had no ambient asbestos fibers. The workers then took me on a walk-through, and I could see the pipes and cement floor were now immaculate. I thought I was done, but now the story gets interesting. A week later my husband and I demo'ed the wood paneling in the basement (to Dri-Lok the masonry) and found -- more asbestos! Within three days Glenn sent two of his men over to remove the additional fifteen feet or so of pipe wrap. Once again, great response and great result. Overall, the only negative about these folks is, they're pricey. My initial contract was for $4725, half to be paid after the containment chamber was built, the other half following the air samples and walk-through. It cost an additional $500 to remove the additional stuff we found because it wasn't covered in the initial contract. No one who does this work is cheap, however, and Murdock got great results. The work started and ended exactly on time, my second problem was resolved fast, and my basement is now clean, clean, clean. I'd hire them again, although I hope I don't have to.
Description of Work: Removed 65 linear feet of asbestos pipe wrap, 400 square feet of asbestos floor tile (plus the mastic that glued it to the floor), and two partially used boxes of asbestos floor tile from my basement.
