+ -1 moreThe quote was for $2500-3000. Average price for Middletown is about $900 on Home Advisor. Three Agents from Two Real Estate companies, Re/Max and William Raveis advised that average prices in their experiences were $825 and $1000, respectively. I came away from our correspondence feeling simply dismissed, and unwanted as a customer. I tried to get them to take a second look, and provide a more reasonable quote, really begging them to take me on as a customer, but they didn't budge. Biggest question in my head: I have half a dozen friends and family who have had surveys on their property. None of them paid more than $1500. The reason I was given for the high quote was that surveys can be complicated and difficult to get started. But if my lot, a near-perfect rectangle with a clean dimension of 90' x 100' is complicated, WHAT does qualify for simple?
Description of Work: I needed a boundary survey for a .23 acre, 90' x 100' rectangle lot with established rear lot border (Cemetery present) and established front lot border (city road, no sidewalk).

+ -1 moreI requested a proposal on the staking-out of my residential property. This firm was responsive, provided the estimate in a reasonable time frame, and did the appropriate follow-up. The quoted price was a little high, and in the end I didn't hire them because somebody else was kind of a superstar, and gave me a lower quote to boot. If you're in the market for a surveyor, however, these guys are definitely worth the phone call - they were responsive and professional in all things.
Description of Work: No services were performed; I requested a proposal from this firm and then went with somebody else.

+ -1 moreAs homeowners inexperienced in surveying services, we were lucky. Godfrey-Hoffman Associates, LLC, came highly recommended by people we trust. All we wanted was a fence. Soon we realized we would be dissatisfied installing a fence without knowing where the property lines were located. Godfrey-Hoffman responded immediately to our call and took good care of us. They were generous with their time, explaining their procedure and answering all our questions. We were impressed by the thoroughness and precision of their work. They were professional and friendly. We couldn’t be more satisfied. If in the future we have any questions, we won’t hesitate to call them. Surveying can be an expensive service. For us, it was worth every single penny.
Description of Work: Preparation of a Class "A-2" Boundary Stakeout included land record research, field location of all existing survey markers in the area, installation of iron pins and wooden stakes along property lines, and a stake-out sketch showing the location of all markers staked out by Godfrey-Hoffman Associates.
