Pet Playgrounds - West Haven

Pet Playgrounds installed a 6 foot fence in our backyard to create a safe play area for our dogs. The work was done quickly, the price was reasonable, and the fence has held up well to all kinds of weather. It is by far the best fence we have ever had, and I feel better knowing that when the dogs go outside, they are safe and secure.

Was very excited about animal fencing. No response from messaging and no answer for phone.

It's three weeks after receiving the fence and they haven't yet scheduled installation.

Harder than billed but ultimately my husband did by himself. Tried to get them to help us find a contractor to no end.

Had to call to get a response on delivery of fencing after 3 weeks. Fencing arrived, but missing critical components. Later found same components much cheaper at Trident Corp. Never heard back from Pet Playgrounds when I called/emailed about an additional fence.

Went well. Slight hiccup with supplies, but Rafael came back the next day to finish. He was great.

On time, very quickly done with very little hassle. No uncharges from the quoted price.

I am having handymen put fence up on April 13th. Half the price of their installation. Will see what kind of quality the fence and function is.

It has been really good. They provided instructions for how it works. They extended it from the back yard to the front yard. They were very thorough for all of it. The only eye sore is when they left, they planted a really big, ugly pet fence flag in the yard. It was a little much. They were on time. I know they were here early in the morning and they left in the afternoon. It took them 4-5 hours. They had set everything up and put flags for where the wires were going to be under the ground, so we knew where the dog could and couldn't go. They cleaned up after themselves after they were finished with the job.

They were terrific. The install was a bit more complicated then they originally expected. Had to come back a 2nd day with 2 people. They did not charge me an extra penny! I have two little escape artists and this fence really works. I have it a few months now and trust it more every day. These guys also love dogs, and were playing with my guys thru the entire install. They also set the fence up so one of the corners could come down easily because we knew we were going to have a rather large dead tree taken down, and the fence was going to be in the way. We got the fence down and they came to put it back up the next day. Only charged me $100! They are great to work with. I also priced out my yard with chain link fencing. it would have been almost twice the cost. One more thing, one night a large animal (we think a deer), tied to get through the fence. Fence buckled a bit, a couple of the ground spikes popped, but it held back an animal of a few hundred pounds. It fixed up easily too.

Installation was pretty quick and the guys were very professional.

I have hard to train dogs and Maggie did a great job with them. Now if she can just get me trained :-).

Victor and two courteous crew members arrived a little early to help us decide where to install the fence in the yard. Victor had re-assured me during our telephone conversation that they would be able to recommend something. Instead of the back yard, Victor strongly recommended the side yard off the patio where the garden was, so that our dog would be where the family spends time. As a dog owner, Victor had a lot of insight to share. He also told us how to introduce the fenced area to our dog in a positive way. It has worked out just like he predicted and we are enjoying the fencing very much. During the warm mornings, I bring breakfast outside while the dog scampers around with a ball or pokes around the garden, eating end-of-season strawberries and the occasional tomato. The quality of the installation has been admired by several contractors and neighbors. The wide gates swing open in both directions, so that will be handy for getting through with the snowblower in the winter time. The other day, I found my 50 lb dog using the side of the fence as a back scratcher. Looking more closely, I realized that the dog must have been rubbing his side and back along the fence in the past because the fence was a little stretched, but otherwise fine. I am discouraging the dog from rubbing against it anymore, but was glad to see that it has held.

Arrived with missing supplies. VERY difficult installation. 4 full days. Lawn mower clips fence on ground and can't trim grass that grows between fences. Cost too much in my opinion for product and amount of work to install. Pro: Victor (and support team) is very supportive. Sent new products and gave me small refund in a timely manner. Con: price, installation, bottom of fence ruined by mower, grass grows through fence and can't trim.

The whole experience was great! We were very concerned about having an outdoor area for our Siberian Husky puppy, as the breed are known escape artists. We researched traditional stockade fences for our yard, but the cost was insane($5500-6000) and our yard is unique in that we have tiers with retaining walls, so the fenced area would have been detached from the house. Victor came out and due to the nature of his product, he was able to come up with solutions for the tiered areas (8 ft fences in spots the puppy could potentially jump) and showed us how we could attach the fencing to the house, so our puppy would never feel isolated in the yard. All of the other reviewers are correct about the "invisibility" of the fence. It's unobtrusive and the puppy has yet to even test it. Victor was very responsive and professional. His crew worked quickly and did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend Pet Playgrounds.

This fence review is much overdue, but the benefit of that is we can attest to the performance through all four seasons and the majority of our dog's puppy-hood. We have several mostly wooded acres and wanted a large pen for our puppy. Viktor was timely in coming out to walk the area and provide an accurate estimate. We requested that existing trees be used wherever possible in lieu of fence posts for a more invisible look. When Viktor's guys arrived to do the work, they were professional, courteous and expedient. They followed our direction exactly on the area of the pen and used all of the trees we'd identified - they only had to use one post. Had some follow up concerns about a dead tree the fence crossed over and they were out promptly to resolve the issue. The fence blends in beautifully with our woods and our dog, a very feisty welsh terrier, has never once even tried to escape. Sometimes he just stares at the gate mechanism with a forlorn look, but he knows it is paw-proof! The materials are holding up beautifully after a year-plus. The portion of the fence that is staked to the ground is very secure and our dog has never tried to dig it up as it also blends in so well with the ground cover. The gate has held up wonderfully despite a rough winter and literally being up against mountains of snow. We live in an area with coyotes and are so glad we chose this type of fence instead of electric. Our dog is kept safe in his pen and we never worry. We still remark that this fence was one of the best investments we made in our property, we feel it has paid for itself several times over in peace of mind and enjoyment for our dog. Cannot recommend this type of fence enough as well as the service and follow up provided.

We tried to use an Invisible Fence to keep our two-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer and three-year-old Pit Mix in our yard. It didn't work--not even a little bit. When we told Pet Playgrounds this, they were more than accommodating--especially when we stressed that the Pointer is a TSA Explosive K9 and we CAN'T have him getting loose. Victor and his employees (and his adorable 10-year-old Golden) showed up at our house early to install our fence. So far, the dogs have LOVED LOVED LOVED having their own personal dog park in our backyard. The MAX Strength was definitely the way to go as both of our dogs are chewers and Houdinis. They can't break through the fence. They can't chew through it. They can't jump it. They're totally safe and confined to the backyard. It's fantastic. I'd highly recommend Pet Playgrounds to anyone interested in keeping their dogs in their yard. It's way less expensive than a traditional fence and it's far more reliable than an electric fence.

I have been meaning to do this review for a while since they did such a great job but got really busy. Victor was very responsive, friendly and informative when we spoke on the phone. He and his guys showed up when promised. My husband walked the area we wanted fenced with Victor and they got right to work. They used some trees as posts and some actual posts. A few hours later we had a great dog fence and the dogs who hadn't been loose since we moved were SO happy! It turned out really well, you can barely see it which is nice. It's very sturdy, we have three dogs (one very large one) and have had no issues with escaping or anything. If you are looking to simply fence an area for your pets this is the way to go! It was less than half the price of a wood or vinyl fence and I actually like it better because it blends into the yard. I am confident that if we were to have any issues in the future they would definitely come back out and take care of them, you can tell Victor wants his customers to be happy. I would definitely recommend the fencing to anyone.

It was fabulous! I have two dogs who I can now let out into the yard and they can play and I don't have to worry. My fence starts at the edge of the house and goes up a short incline, is clipped between a series of trees, has to go over a few low rocks, around more corners, and back onto the opposite side of the house. There are 5' fence gates on each side that connects to the side of the house. I contacted Victor Boemmels with some concerns, and he took them seriously, visited on site, helped finalize the shape of the fence, and oversaw the installation. It was quick! Later I put in a pet door and now the dogs can go in and out on their own! It is plenty tall enough, Victor helped make sure that happened. Only a few squirrels have leapt into the yard and onto the ground - to the delight of the dogs - and the fence keeps the other critters away. In the installation process they bend the lower edge of the fence back toward the inside of the fenced yard and pin it down, so while it turns out my dogs are diggers and I have holes all over the yard, they don't dig at the edges. I love not having to worry about letting them outside and love not worrying that they will get too excited and break through an invisible fence.

We have lab rescues who are a little more than a year old. They are high energy and very fast!! Unfortunately, they learned to first dig under and then jump over our standard fence, even when we were standing next to them in the yard. After one too many afternoons of chasing them through the woods behind our house, we called Pet Playgrounds. They responded immediately, and had an estimate in our hands in a matter of days. They came out to the house a week later to install our fence, even though it was the crazy week between Christmas and New Years. The fence was up in a day, and it looks great. Our dogs were very disappointed by their inability to engage in any more games of neighborhood tag. Once the crew arrived, they determined that we didn't actually need all of the materials that they had included in the original estimate and managed to reduce the price of the fence by $200. As new homeowners we appreciated the integrity in this offer, as we wouldn't have asked to pay less than we agreed to. Fantastic business practices, extremely responsive and a great product. We would recommend this company to anyone with a rambunctious pet!

It went great. My friend Pam had asked if I knew anyone who installed fencing. I recommended we look on Angie's List for reputable companies. When we saw that Pet Playgrounds had 15 positive reviews and had an A rating, Pam decided to give them a call. She recently purchased a home (Dec 2014) in a neighborhood that doesn't care for Pit Bulls. Pam has a female Pit Bull. She didn't want trouble with her neighbors so decided to fence the area in. She needed to do this quickly as she was moving in shortly. Victor at Pet Playgrounds called her back in a timely fashion. They had a phone conversation about the dimensions and she received an estimate in less than a week. Within 2 weeks, the fence was installed and due to the fact that it was a little smaller than anticipated, Victor took $100 off the price. It looks great! She is very satisfied and would highly recommend Pet Playgrounds to all her friends.

It is a pleasure when contractor shows up on time and performs their work in an efficient and professional manner. Such is the case with Victor and his staff. They showed up as scheduled and after a brief consultation, began installing their fencing. Victor worked closely with us in our heavily landscaped yard to maximize the open space and to minimize the impact the fence would have on our street view. We ended up with a bigger enclosure than we originally planned; however, visually there was no difference. The fencing utilizes our house as an end point for the fencing and encloses nearly our entire side yard. We wanted to give our cats the opportunity to climb some trees so the fence took an irregular path to accommodate the trees. Victor told us he does not do many cat enclosures. His design and knowledge were very helpful. This enclosure was installed due to the increasing amount of coyotes and other predator animals becoming more prevalent after nearly 40 years of allowing our cats to enjoy outdoor freedom. (Special thanks to the State of Connecticut for reintroducing Fishers to our habitat!) We lost 2 cats last year for the first time, and grew increasingly concerned for our current pair. The fence is an ideal solution for people who want to enjoy dogs or cats outdoors. There is some tweaking necessary to the enclosed area as our cats learned to climb trees above the fence and jump to freedom. Installing fencing on the pathway branches seems to solve the problem. The fencing is nearly invisible on the branches. There were a few escapes when the fence was first installed. However, as we have installed material barriers under the gates and raised the fence in places that the cats could jump over it from a tree, the escapes are non existent currently. We added a computer controlled pet door in one of our basement windows and the cats can come and go as they please, on a schedule we can vary. (Cats/dogs need to be microchipped for this.) Pet Playgroundz did an excellent job. They were very responsive and professional. They arrived on time to install the fence and had the whole yard fenced in in less than a day. The fence itself is very sturdy, while also being unobtrusive to the eye, particularly from a distance. The price for installation was also very reasonable. We have a large pit bull mix and the fence is more than strong enough to contain her.

Two people came out it took about a day. They left the area clean. They had a good price, they were pleasant and reponsive. I would tell my friends that they would get a good product for the price.
