Shaw Remodeling

Job went very well. Very pleasant and professional consultant listened well to what we wanted. Was flexible in using a combination of customer-supplied materials and Shaw-supplied materials. Workers were very pleasant, professional and skilled. Job was completed on time and at the contracted price. Very happy with results. No follow-on issues a year later. My only complaint was that the price seemed a little high, but the quality was also high.

On 11/19/2015, the day of our scheduled appt, the time came and went without anyone showing up. We called the office repeatedly and finally someone answered and they said the gentleman was already on his way. He showed up in the amount of time it would take to get from their office in Niantic to our home which proves we were completely forgotten about. He said he thought our appt was at a different time. The gentleman came into our home and listened to our ideas about our plan. On 12/9/15, 3 weeks later, we called with no answer and finally emailed to ask where our quote was. We were told the framer was still coming up with figures and we should know by the end of the week. Well that came and went, and now that it has been over a month, and we will just assume that they aren't interested. Other companies we got quotes from did not take more than a couple weeks to get us a number. This was a total waste of our time and completely unprofessional.

The guy took an estimate. I gave him my email address. He must have lost it. So he got some other email address. That is one of my emails. But, they sent the estimate to the wrong email. Once we cleaned that up, they sent me an agreement which I signed and returned. They were supposed to start on a certain day. They never showed up. They sent a note saying, "We'll need to postpone." And then they fell dark. Essentially, from the time I got an email saying, "We need to postpone" they've not returned multiple phone calls, voicemails. No one picks up the phone in the office anymore. Emails were not responded to. So basically, they kind of left me hanging. Now, it's cold and snow is about to fly and the job is not done. They're highly rated on Angie's List. No money exchanged hands.

Spoke with representative who scheduled an appointment. Estimator did no show or call. Lack of curtesy or respect for clients time.

Work was excellent. Crew knew their stuff, were neat and tidy, job was finished as promised and flowerbeds were even re-mulched (unexpected)! This was the second time we've used Shaw Remodeling (AKA "Handyman Services"). Our favorite thing about them is their responsiveness - they call back on jobs too small for other contractors, but can handle bigger jobs as well. We plan to use them again in the near future to do some electrical, sheetrocking, and painting work in support of our new bed (custom designed for a specific space). We will need to move outlets, and install wall lamps for this, and Shaw will be our first choice.

They showed up on time. They completed the work as expected. The end result was excellent.
