A-1 SEAMLESS GUTTERS

This was an extremely professional group. I was given an estimate, and work schedule, and information on different options for the leaf guards. I would use them again and would recommend them.

The other reason Shawn gave Ron for not returning my calls was he said ...and quot;he was moving his office,and quot; At that point it was over 30 days since I called. One year later Shawn has never called, never shown back up when it was raining, or even pull the gutter-guards and give me my money back. I am now working with someone else to try and fix Shawn's mess! Update (11/11/13) This morning I called the A-1 Seamless Gutter Niantic, CT phone number expecting to get the same tired recording with no response. Much to my surprise a real person by the name of Melissa answered the phone and is EXTREMELY CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED. She listened to my angry explanation of the gutter-guards keeping both leaves and water out of my gutters, and how upset I was with the owner, Shawn, never bothering to solve the problem - see my earlier scathing review on Angie's List regarding A-1 and Shawn. I either wanted someone to come out and remove my gutter-guards and return all of my money, or I was going to have someone remove them and I was going to take the gutter guards and and quot;RETURNand quot; them to A-1 myself! Melissa was so sweat and understanding she got me calmed down and started going through scenarios on how to solve my problem. We agreed to have my original gutter crew, led by the very knowledgeable/personable Jim Moore. Jim and his guys were in my driveway by 1:30 pm today, and it took Jim about all of two minutes to figure out my 6and quot; gutter edge had to be and quot;crimpedand quot; in with a claw hammer. The gutter-guard then had to be and quot;pushed back and up a bit.and quot; This solved the problem with the water overshooting my gutter-guard/gutter problem. Jim and the guys then spent a couple of hours going through each and every one of my gutters to and quot;crimp and push back and up.and quot; He then performed extensive testing by using water from my hose. My problem was specific to the lip design on the 6and quot; gutter, and it's incompatibility to the gutter guard - UNLESS IT IS CRIMPED BY A KNOWLEDGEABLE INSTALLER. The gutter-guard must then be appropriately pushed up and back proportionately. Jim Moore has approximately 13 years of training and installing these products. My suggestion is if you are having any kind of a gutter or gutter-guard problem - ask for Jim Moore to troubleshoot and don't settle for anyone else. The owner, Shawn, does not have the intricate knowledge and skill to be able to help solve the problem. Now, in all fairness - Shawn did a wonderful thing for himself and his customers when he hired Melissa. That girl is a God send for sure! She is terrific!!! THIS SUGGESTION IS FOR SHAWN: Jim Moore is one in a million! He is very bright, analytical, knowledgeable of your product and it's unique installation needs. It comes through loud and clear how much he cares about the customers and getting each job done exactly right for the very best outcome. Jim is your business TROUBLESHOOTER and should be professionally paid, and be responsible for interacting with each customer that has a concern! Thank you Melissa, Jim and team for caring and solving my problem!!

In preparing for this job I called 4 contractors. Two of the contractors arranged to evaluate the job when I was not there and 2 arranged for me to meet them on site. All of the contractors answered questions I had about their approach but A-1 met me on site and seemed to have the best grasp of issues I raised. There was going to be a 2 week delay and then I was on vacation so the job didn't start until a month later. While the price was not the cheapest I feel that I got the best bang for my buck Two people came when they were scheduled and efficiently removed the wood gutters and then 4 more came by to work on installing the gutters. They did an excellent job, completing the work in 7 hours, doing a great job of cleaning up and gave me a helpful hint to cap the downspouts where it enters the under ground drain system. I am happy to recommend them and would use them again.

He was here right away and he did a good job. He was a nice guy. I didn't check a lot of others regarding the price. I would definitely use them again.

This was a repeat visit for these guys. Two years ago, we had them replace the gutters on an out-building, and drain it to one point so we could save the rainwater to a series of rain barrels. They did an excellent job, and the gutter toppers have kept all the detritus out, so that the water is exceptionally clean. When it came time to do the house, they were the natural choice. Shawn (the owner?) wrote up the order while we were not here, and did a perfectly satisfactory job, except that Shawn remembered my penchant for saving rainwater, and drained one entire side of the house to the single barrel at an uphill corner of the house. This design thoughtfully removed/omitted the downhill downspout in the process . This is OK, except that half a house's worth of rain will fill one rain barrel quite quickly, leaving the overflow to go downhill on the surface. In a hard rain, this amount of water is considerable. We needed to have the second downspout added back. So we called and they're coming out to re-hang the gutter and add the second downspout. Shawn was quite accommodating about it all, once we explained why we needed the second downspout. So we have the owner who is wonderful and accommodating, and who earns an A+ rating. His hired folks, not so much, and an overall rating must include them. The day they were here clearly was the day after the night before, and motivation was hard to find. Still, they did a good enough job. So: Design: A, Owner: A+, Execution: B+, Field Staff: C.
