Frank and I played a bit of phone during the week but he always called back and when we finally spoke Thursday morning he was willing to come out the very next day, Friday morning, to look at the situation. He arrived promptly at 8:30 as he said he would and was done by 9am as he had expected. He inspected the basement, looking at past damage and checking for any new/current activity. He walked around the house to inspect past treatments and was able to find drill holes from one of the past treatments. He then grabbed his poker for a more thorough inspection of beams in the basement. Frank was extraordinarily knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing as well as the different treatment systems and the scientific research supporting the liquid/drill system and the drawbacks of the bait system. As he did not find any current activity and was able to locate the drill sites, he concluded that we do not need treatment at the moment but did give a few suggestions for the future. He also quoted the price to be about $600-$700 for the liquid/drill system around our house (which I thought was very well priced) if we were to need it at some point, though he was confident that termites should not return. Although Frank could have taken advantage of us as we made it clear that we did not understand how termite treatments work (it's our first home-owning experience), he gave us a lot of information and was honest with us. In the end he did not charge us for anything and will not be doing any work for us because it is not necessary, but I highly recommend him!
