After talking to a few plumbers, we decided to go with Mike as we read the reviews in Angie's. Mike was prompt in coming to give us a free estimates ($600) and setting up appts. Although it started off with a simple plumbing disconnect/reconnect job, it quickly morphed into more than that. The good thing was that Mike never said no to anything. And we loved his confidence all along. The only thing we were nervous was if we would end up paying a lot more that $600. Our biggest addition to original scope was the moving of gas line. Originally I thought I might not have to but eventually we had to. That added up the additional $225. But then he ended up putting new garbage disposal and a few other parts around the faucets. We were pleasantly surprised that we did not charge us for that. And the best thing was how is managed to have our kitchen sink ready in 2 hrs the final day. That was challenging as he ran into multiple issues around parts and has his support crews rush with replacement parts. He openly declared that his goal was to have my wife cook that day no matter what he had to go through. This was the day he was supposed to shop for his own daughter's Bday party. We loved his dedication. The whole project was completed in 3 appts based on our schedule of how we were assembling our kitchen cabinets. He worked around our schedule to make sure everything came together appropriately. Basically Mike is our guy for sure and we look forward to using him for our bathroom renovation project very soon.

Steve, the plumber assigned to the job, was prompt and very professional. I figured the diverter would be a simple problem, but that the washer exhaust water issue would be a big one. We have an old house, and putting in a newer deeper sink would have involved replacing all the pipes around the sink and washing machine, which would have cost well over $1,000. Steve suggested the idea of having the exhaust hose from the washer go directly to the drain pipes below the sink, which I something I thought about, but wasn't sure it could work. He finished both jobs in about three hours -- replacing the sink alone would have taken four to five hours. The cost of $800 for everything was much better than the $1,200 or so I started with, although I thought the initial cost for simply fixing the bathtub was steep, given that it involved simply replacing a plastic piece, which I can probably do the next time it wears out.

I have used their services twice and I was extremely happy when they did some work for me the first time. I wasn't that happy with them the second time which was in the summer. They replaced a toilet the first time and the plumber came out immediately. He really wanted to please me. It was a situation where the toilet had clogged. So, I went ahead and bought a toilet in case they needed to change it. I didn't want to spend too much on repairing the old one. The price charged was very reasonable and the plumber was very quick too. I think he was the owner and he was great as well. I then called them back about 6 to 7 months later, as I had a leak downstairs in the basement from that toilet. There was a younger guy that came out and he said that it was the lead pipe that was causing the problem. He said that he would have to cut the lead pipe at 2 places to fix the problem and that would cost around $1600. I thought it wasn't a fair price considering the work that had to be done. I didn't need a second quote for the same work. So, my husband thought of getting a second opinion and that's when I called another plumbing company. They came out and found out that there was a problem with the seal that Advance Plumbing had put down while installing the toilet. That was causing a leak and not the lead pipe and it was only $180 to repair it. So, I was really freaked out as the other plumber had told me that it would cost a lot. I don't know if the problem was just with the guy that they sent. It might not have occurred to him that it could be a problem with only the seal. He must have thought that there must be some problem with the plumbing, as we have an old house. It could have been an error, but if I have any issues now, then I would call the second company who came out to fix the leak and not Advance Plumbing. However, they seemed like trustworthy people and I don't think that the other guy was trying to cheat me. They were responsive both the times when they came out as well.

Mike showed up on time, removed the toilet,and installed a new wax ring correctly, fixed the leak and cleanly re-installed the toilet.. A week later and still no drips. success! Mike was competent, and clearly explained goals and was patient with not well thought out questions. He also took the time to answer other unrelated plumbing questions. He was able to successfully field and quickly resolve cell phone calls, not get distracted, sidetracked. Excellent work, would highly recommend. update 9/1/2014: a week later there were no leak, but 2 years later the leak was back. because this leak was slow I was able to cope with it a couple years. This year it got much worse and a bucket was no longer acceptable. Hired another plumber I found on Angie's List who did what I had hoped Mike would do in 2009. He immediately suggested and installed a flange long enough to reach past the opening that I years ago filled with wax and Mike did the same. this repair was done last spring, April, and the leak has not restarted. as a result of the need to revisit this issue I have downgraded my original rating.

They were really good across the board. They were prompt, responsive, courteous and professional. They were as minimally invasive as possible to find the leak, which I appreciated. I think plumbing can be over priced, but I would still rate it with an "A".

I have had a good experience with Advance Plumbing & Heating Inc. They were courteous and they did not try to up sell me on any work that would be better done in the spring months. They recommended some inexpensive fixes, without being pressed to do so. They thoroughly explained the situation, both to my wife and myself, without any evidence of gender bias.

They were very responsive and knowledgeable. The plumber was very nice and you felt comfortable with him in the house and could respect his opinion. Very pleasant experience. We had a second emergency 3 weeks later. I called and needed someone to come ASAP. He was booked but called a friend and within a half hour of the first call someone was at the house. Service is very important to them.

They were very reliable about coming out to fix the leak. They had everything with them that was needed. They are pleasant and knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone.
