Denscot Pool & Spa

Went to the store in early June and was told by Scott, I believe the owner that they would come the following week and give an estimate. I was asking for a pool opening and a repair to the liner around the skimmer. After emailing and phoning, leaving messages heard nothing. About a month later, I decided to try to do the work myself. I then received a message from Scott that he found this piece of paper on his desk saying he was to do work, but had no idea what the work was. I called again, leaving a message. Weeks went by and I called another company. I then received another call out of the blue from Denscott saying they had a message that I had called and AGAIN they wondered what needed to be done. I reiterated what I had told them many times previously. By this time I had done the repair work and wanted someone to complete the opening of the pool. I was told they would be out the following week. Of course, they never called and I have never heard from them since.

Disastrous in all departments. Two years after we fired them, they tried to send a collection agency after us for a contract that did not exist and services that were not performed. Avoid.

good when they show up

We paid about $8500 for the spa, about 2 years later they refused to service it. When we got an estimate on the pool, they took too long to complete the job. The original reason they came was because the pool was losing water, they suggested it needed re gunited. We also agreed to have the decking replaced. They put in coping that was cracked but was cleverly disguised by them. Their workers left the gates open, letting my dogs out. They tracked wet concrete across the new decking, they poured leftover concrete under my shrubbery. When the pool was done is was still leaking(the original problem). They said it was the drain and they plugged the pool drain. Totally unprofessional and sloppy, workers not supervised.

In 2005 we purchased a house with a pool. We knew the pool was in need of repair. Scott Pools in Woodbury was recommended to us by the realtor and they referred us to Denscot. We assumed they were a branch. Scott Meeker said the work would be done before the swimming season of 2006 began. They started after July 4th and emptied the pool. A major storm the next day raised the water table and lifted the pool out of the ground. Scott suggested refilling the pool with the pond's water to see if it would sink again. It didn't. We were then given the choice of trashing the pool and installing a new one or cutting off the highest side by a foot to make it seem level. We chose the latter. Because of the change in the topography, the pool continued to leak. Denscot sent a diver who said he filled the cracks. The pool continued to leak. Each week the maintenance guy said he couldn't clean the pool because the water level was too low. At the end of the summer Denscot sent us a bill for $300 more than contracted because of all the extra work. We threatened to sue him. He said he'd like to keep our business. We laughed.

Every time that they come out they are very detailed and answer all of our questions. They are able to show us the up keep for the summer. They are on time, friendly, and very professional. Their rates are reasonable as well. I would recommend them to other people because they are thorough and they do a great job.
