YardApes

I almost never write reviews, but this time I have to. Our house is in a nice location, but we never did anything to make the entrance beautiful. This year we decided to landscape. I asked my neighbors whom they would suggest, and 2 or 3 of them said they had been pleased with Yardapes. I wasn’t sure I wanted to call. I envisioned a bunch of guys with their knuckles dragging on the ground coming down my driveway. Well, I am very glad I overcame that fear. A brilliant landscape designer, Jon, showed up, looked around and started thinking. It was a little like watching an artist painting a picture. Within the week, he sent me sketches of a design with pictures of the most beautiful plants and shrubs. The price was fair, and I gave the go ahead. I have been thrilled that the end result was way better than the sketches or the pictures. The job took several days and the people who came to do the work were excellent and very knowledgeable. I cannot make a higher recommendation. This was a very positive experience.

I found Yard Apes because I wanted to have my brothers yard cleaned up for a party. They came for a one time service and did an amazing job. They did more than they originally discussed and ended up charging me a little less than the estimate! Greg was a wonderful contact. I would use Yard Apes again without hesitation.

All work top notch. The recommendations associated with walkway materials and flowers and bushes to put in the new flower beds were excellent!

Everyone was very polite, I'll give them that. I had to wait for 2+ weeks before the could fit me it. When they showed up, the workers were also polite though had limited English. They tilled and seeded many areas, including quite a few I didn't ask for because they were in deep shade or along the curb where there is also no shade, and where the soil is all sand from snowstorm deposit. On inspection, we could see they used the barest handfuls of seed in some places, skipped others that they had tilled, and tilled some areas but not areas right next to it where there was less grass than where they tilled. It was pretty much a mystery as to how they made their decisions. Still, we watered incessantly for two weeks, finally giving up on all but the large completely bare area, where grass was actually coming in in patches. I paid the bill but told the office staff that I wasn't happy. Eventually Greg came back, looked around, and sent the guys back to touch up. Same. Results. Nothing. I even bought some seed and went over the former shed area to fill in the patchiness, also scraping up the straw and finding spots where the grass was trying manfully to grow under an inch of compacted straw. And none of the other spots that they and quot;touched upand quot; have so much as single new blade of grass, one week later during perfect grass-growing weather and daily watering. At this point we have spent 2 weeks waiting, and a month watering, AND holding off for all 6 weeks on putting down a pre-emergent that we need at this time of year. Result? The weeds are REALLY happy and our lawn will look terrible when we put it on the market. I'm not a lawn pro and I've usually had better or at least the same results. I'd say about 90% of my money was completely wasted.

Yard Apes were very good. They showed up, did a good job but they were kind of expensive. I think they're reliable.

Yard Apes did a very good job. They spent hours edging, trimming and cutting back perennials. Previous to their work we had only weeds and almost no grass. We are almost without weeds and the lawn is looking grassy and green. We played a bit of phone tag with the guy who communicates with us but when we did connect he was helpful and appeared to know his field.

We are very happy with Yard Apes thus far. We have had an initial consultation with Gregg who then set us up with a landscape architect named Scott. We were very pleased with both of these individuals. Scott spent approximately 3.5 hours discussing our gardens, offering advise, then drew up a garden plan for future plantings. Work has not begun on our property as of today's date, and we will update the review after we complete the work.

The price is very reasonable for what they do. They do excellent work. We will continue to use them in the future.

IT WAS POSITIVE. THE WORK WAS HIGH QUALITY AND THEIR RESPONSIVENESS WAS GOOD. I ENJOY THE EMPLOYEES. THEIR PROFESSIONALISM IS HIGH QUALITY. THEY ARE TOP NOTCH. THEY TAKE THEIR JOB SERIOUSLY.
