lawn mower repair
+ -1 moreI have an older Sears Craftman riding mower and I get it serviced every year early Spring at Big John’s. The older riding mowers are all metal and durable, so I prefer to take care of it and hang on to it. Alan at Big John’s has been fabulous at doing standard care and any other things that may occur. He is honest, cares about cost, and does an excellent job. I highly recommend his shop.
Description of Work: Annual service and occasional other repairs.

Description of Work: they were to provide regular maintenance. total COST WAS TO BE 125.00 Blades were not sharp but they did find something else wrong with the mower. Never called me to let me know just said they did the work and billed me when they dropped off the mower. Total BS. I have not used them since.

Description of Work: Repaired mower-unit, replaced old drive-belt and sharpened 3 mower blades. |It took 10 weeks to get the mower-unit back. The sharpening alone cost $70.00 |(but a purchased a brand new set of 3 blades for elsewhere for $54.00

+ -1 moreMy overall story is posted above. He took care of our problems.
Description of Work: he's nice enough to speak with. He was pretty responsive and Identified the problem. It was taken and returned when he said it would be. The only problem was the battery was killed by the short that he was hired to repair....When our lawnmower was returned to us, we could not start it the next day...we called and he explained we needed to buy a new battery....It woulds have been nice if he called us to ask us if we wanted to buy a new battery from him, rather than dump the problem back on us.....To be fair to Big John's, we were very upset by the other company who sold us the mower to begin with, so not much made us happy....We spent more at Big John's than we thought but he gave us new blades, etc....will likely call him again. The phones are tricky...worst time to try and get him on the phone is morning.

lawn mower repair, sharpening
+ 0 moreHad parts in stock, but was backed up so he couldn't pick up the tractor in right away, and I didn't have my pickup truck to drop it off, so I removed the deck and dropped it off. He had it repaired and ready for me the same day, and at a very reasonable cost. He also checked the blades to make sure they were sharp and that the deck was clean underneath.
Description of Work: Replaced pulley and shaft on lawn tractor deck.

If it's broke,we fix it. We have a fast turnaround time on most repairs. We offer a pickup and delivery service for tractors and large items. Drop off for these are by appointment only due to limited space. We offer a large stock of both NEW and USED repair parts for sale. We sell used tractors and push mowers when available.
We DO NOT repair weed trimmers, however if you're handy we do sell new and used repair parts for some brands. We DO NOT repair electric motors. We DO NOT repair pumps. We DO NOT do any type of automotive repairs. If it's not powered by a small gasoline engine we DO NOT repair it.
