After one day delay due to rain the crew showed up on time all 4 days and worked in opressive heat practically non-stop. The existing shingles were removed as well as a section of barely-slanted torched roofing over the bathroom and back mudroom. Existing 55+ yr old tongue and groove was removed on the main section of the house. Since the existing roof on the house did not involve inspectors when it was originally replaced in 1997 (before I owned it) needless to say the structure was NOT to code and basically and quot;thrownand quot; up by amatures. None of the rafters were 16 on center and the center beam was 3/4 inch plywood. Eric and his crew reinforced it all, raised and leveled the ceiling in the bathroom and intigrated the new roof over that area with the existing rooflines so the drainage and esthetics are perfect. I joked with the guys that if we were to have a major hurricane the only thing that might be left of this little house would be this section of the roof that's how solid they reconstructed this section of the roof. Since there were 3 different rooflnes to incorporate I decided to hire an engineer to draw up plans (ProCad Drafting Services, LLC) which I'm glad I did. Together they worked to give me a roof I knew would pass inspection and could feel comforatable with. When the rest of the roof is ready to be redone I definitely will call Eric.

Recently contracted with Ericsen Contracting LLC Roofing and Home Improvement for an estimate to rip/replace roof shingles on my home. We set up a meet at the site for initial size up and inspection. He arrived at the selected time and completed his inspection. The task was to include drip edge all around, water and ice all the way to the ridge vent opening (existing) and architectural shingles of my choice. His professionalism was evident as he was able to size up the job with a most reasonable quote. Additionally, his business card was attached, with a copy of current CT Dept of Consumer Protection Home Improvement Contractor Certificate complete with his registration (HIC) number, and a list of twelve references. A tentative date was set if I selected his services. The weather man would alter our initial requested and subsequent alternative dates.He was on time and on the date we settled upon, and stripping began. Tarps were deployed to catch all waste products and a large dumpster spotted in the driveway, with wheels resting on thick, wide planks to save the driveway surface from damage. The roof was stripped of shingles and the water and ice was applied with shingles following immediately after. By the end of day one the front half was complete up to the ridge vent. A large tarp was secured to the entire roof as rain was expected that evening. By close of work on the second day, work was complete on the back side to within two or three courses short of the ridge vent. Vent stack was properly dressed, the kitchen exhaust had been properly covered and weaving shingles with the lead flashing on the brick chimney was being completed. On morning of day three the final courses were applied, the ridge vent system attached and capped, final yard inspection and cleanup were completed by noon. Textbook from start to finish. He made a final telephone call as he was leaving--the dumpster was removed two hours later. Professionalism was demonstrated every step of the way.

He provided an approximate date following an assessment. He arrived as promised and completed the work in a timely fashion. He is a pleasant and respectful contractor this is rare!

Eric contracted me. He was prompt. He kept me informed of his schedule. He encountered a delay, and he was nice enough to give me a call to let me know he was delayed. He told me exactly what he was doing, and when he was doing it. I absolutely loved that. The price is pretty much what we expected. He was very professional. I know that I am going to give them a call when I side my house. These guys did their work, did it quickly, and did it well. I have no complaints, whatsoever.

Eric came to estimate the job the day after our initial call and spent a good hour checking out the job and writing his estimate. His was the second best bid but we chose Ericsen because he was much more thorough in his initial perusal of our property. He made suggestions, left samples and was not the least but pushy when he presented his estimate. After obtaining two more estimates, both almost double Ericsen't estimate, we called Eric to begin the job. They started on time and completed the work within the estimated time. Every day our yard was cleaned of debris, the crew was friendly and best of all our roof looks beautiful;. Don't worry about them leaving the job half finished; they complete one job before starting another and do not remove shingles if rain is in the forecast. Overall, a wonderful experience. We will call Ericsen again if a need arises.

See above. Nothing more i can add except that I am very satisfied with the work, the workers and the owner regarding their being on the job when promised, quality workmanship, good manners and behavior and finishing job in a timely manner at a fair price.

We were originally scheduled for 3/26/12 but Eric moved our schedule forward taking advantage of the fine weather. After delivery of the dumpster on Monday (3/12/12), it took them three days to finish the job. First day - The crew finished the back of the house which included some minor rot repairs. Second day - The crew finished the front of house with installation of the vent cap and of two much needed vents ducts. Third day - The site was clean and the dumpster taken away and the roof looks great... I would highly recommend this company...They were professional, personable and did an excellent job...

Eric Petersen ( the owner) showed up on time, with a small crew (2-3 persons), worked efficiently and professionally and finished in 3 days. He did a high quality job.

I used Angie's List to look for a company to do our roof. I got 4 quotes (including Eric's) and Eric was by far the lowest price. Normally I would be wondering whether the quality of work would be as good as the ones that were much higher (the highest quote was $18,000! Eric quoted me $6,500), but he had great reviews here on Angie's list so I felt confident the work would be done well. He came out promptly to give an estimate and I waited about a month to contact him back to confirm I wanted him to do the work so I could get the money together and get a few quotes in the meantime. He put me on his schedule and to my luck had a cancellation so was able to get my roof done earlier than planned. Eric was great about calling/emailing me before and during the project to give me updates. He was there when he said he'd be and they worked until dark each night. The job fell over the weekend and they cleaned everything up nicely and tarped off the roof and everything else since it was calling for snow over the weekend. There was one little piece of drip edge that seemed to have torn on a corner and he fixed it without question when I pointed it out. He had no problem putting a piece of trim over a part of the house where the siding didn't meet up flush with the new roof (old house with 3 layers of shingles) and was fair with the price of that extra job. The roof turned out beautifully and he explained that in the summer the shingles that looked a little and quot;bumpyand quot; would lay flat after they heat up (my husband knew that but I didn't know that, I'm a roofing newbie). I can't imagine what in the world we would have gotten with the $18,000 company we didn't get with Eric. They completed the job quickly (they only do one job at a time and stay until it's done), cleaned up thoroughly and the roof looks fantastic. And at a good price! The description of what would be done was pretty much the same for all 4 companies we got quotes from. Eric pulled the permit and brought his own dumpster. There wasn't anything I had to worry about or and quot;doand quot; during the process. I highly recommend Ericsen Contracting! You won't have to worry about whether they'll show up or do a good job, I promise!

Ericsen Roofing provided the best estimate for cost and time of work. Ericsen was on time each day and worked diligently at removing the two older roofs and quickly at installing the new one. His crew was professional and polite throughout the job. They were also careful not to damage the plants around the house and cleaned up the area afterwards; not leaving any nails or scrap shingles behind. They were able to finish the job quickly without any delay. We appreciated that Mr. Petersen was present throughout the job to answer questions and to supervise. There was a leak after the work was completed that was discovered during a heavy downpour. We contacted Mr. Petersen and he came himself immediately to take care of leak. No problems with the roof since then. We highly recommend Ericsen Roofing to all.

He came on time and he seemed to be thorough. I didn't go on the roof with him but he seemed to know the problem right away and he was professional. He didn't say I needed an entire roof repaired. He knew it was the flange on the vent pipe that was causing the leak. I think he was honest and fixed the problem. He was very responsive and came right away. He came when he said he was going to come to fix it. He was very good and professional. He was going to be an hour late so he called me a head of time and told me he was going to be a little bit late which was good.

They did a very good job. They were very thorough.

The crew arrived around 8:am Fri and finished the job around 5:pm Mon Add about 2 hours on Tuesday for cleanup and they were done. I would give them a highly reccomend if you ned a new roof.

We were very pleased with Eriksen Contracting. We solicted 3 price quotes for the project and Ericsen came in 40% below the competetion. I would have been suspicious of and quot;low-ballingand quot; an estimate, but I had talked to two adjacent neighbors who had had Ericsen replace their roof systems in the past 5 years and they were very pleased with the quality of the work. The work crew arrived punctually, were polite and professional, and the job was accomplished in the indicated 5-day time period with no cost over-runs and no surprises. I can give Ericsen an unqualified recommendation for roofing work in the Mystic, CT area. It went very well. I didn't know he was done until my wife told me. The best way.

Their price included clean-up, which they did immaculately. They had a dumpster for the debris. Everything they did was good. They were prompt, courteous, efficient, polite, enthusiastic, and very clean. They were extremely prompt. They did a follow-up call after the estimate. They kept me in the loop about when they were getting there. They were delayed a day or two by weather and expansion on the previous job. Eric let me know when they would be there to start the job, and he let me know when they were done. It took them three days, from start to finish.

They worked very well, picking up all their mess at the end of every day. Eric was very willing to work with us and how we wanted to deal with some of the issues you run into when you take on a project like this. He took extra steps that kept that professional look. He went out of his way to accommodate our requests, and I am almost jealous he has those guys working for him, I wish I could find workers like that.

The work went well. They were good at the work and careful. They gave a thorough estimate. The weather interfered and made them get here a little late, but that wasn't their fault.
