IN BREACH OF CONTRACT! I discovered Nate James through the Better Business Bureau, so I believe only some of his reviews are factual. I found him to be headstrong and argumentative. He would get irate if he didn't get his way with his ideas. He also doesn't know when it comes to color coordination; he doesn't have an eye for color. I tested his skills, and he failed; I'm an artist. I have known my way around the color wheel since grade school. He would make crazy suggestions like putting a chandelier in the hallway by the bedroom door. I'm tall, so that wasn't an option. What started as 1) $3,000 turned into $3,500, which I was unaware of. 2) He demanded half down to start with, then upon completion of the projects. I told him the money would take 3-4 business days to be transferred from my financial institution. He didn't understand that, got hot-headed, and couldn't start when he wanted to. He could be a more understanding individual. I had to postpone the projects, and he said he would see me the following month. 3) He still needs to start the job; today, his electrician was supposed to install recessed lights for me. He is friendly. 4) Nate had the nerve to demand the rest of the balance before he would come over today, an additional $1,000. Can you say extortion? 5) I reminded him that the contract clearly states that full payment would be required when 95% on completion. Our personalities clashed, and I told him today that I wanted my $1,500 refunded to me, but he refused. He has entitlement issues and is very much like a spoiled child. If he doesn't get his way, he throws a tantrum. I don't know how he stays in business; he could be more professional. I can't recommend him. He thinks I'm bluffing when I said I would take him to small claims court. They emailed me the paperwork to fill out. He kept on revising the contract and lost the job. He lacks professional ethics as well. His contract is poorly written when he can't spell "hallway" correctly. From what I have respect you for buying the tools and think ad, he she is entitled to keep them for himself. He even hard the nerve to ask me if I had a drop cloth!
