when i called for an estimate, i was connected to a answering machine. I left a message for a person to come by and give me an estimate on a job. 2 days later , i received a call from there office and was told that I needed to pay for an estimate which was 59.00 dollars. I since then called other electrician companies WITHOUT charging a price to quote a job. Mister Sparky thanks but no thanks.

It was a very good experience. They were very clean, very neat and efficient. They did a big job and they were very good. They did a number of things and we were very pleased. They were not cheap but they were very good.

Positives - A professional company representative answers telephone, makes appointments, is responsive to needed changes in appointments. A professional and helpful electrician paid the service call (prompt, knowledgeable, polite, helpful). Negative - Price. Santella Electric charges by each service performed, instead of charging by the hour or half-hour. It presents the total that it will charge before doing the work, and does not do the work unless the customer approves. In my case, the quote that I received seemed expensive. However, I approved it, because I did not know how simple or complex the electrical work was. I learned that the work was fairly simple. Then, I had the benefit of having the exact same work - i.e., a number of other electrical outlets changed from two-prong to three-prong in not just one, but multiple other rooms, and several outlets were more complex - done in the next few weeks. This subsequent work confirmed that Santella's bill was more than double what other good electricians charge for the same work. I deliberated over the overall grade to give Santella. I was inclined to give it a "C" grade, because of its exhorbitant price for the work it did for me. However, I give it a "B" grade because it provided good service and was prompt. Please note, however, there are many other good electricians who will provide excellent services for a much fairer price.

They were very professional, courteous, and clean. They were expensive, however, and I chose not to use them for future work becuause of this.

They respond immediately if I have any issues, are reasonably priced, and they guarantee all of their work. Furthermore, they send the same technician on each call, so the gentleman has an intimate understanding of the electical issues in my house. Santella is the only electrical company that I use.

It went great! I was doing renovations on my home prior to moving in. Pete Santella came to my house personally on a Saturday to review the job. He took detailed notes, went back to review and then stopped by one evening to review the proposal. I compared it to two other proposals, one higher and one lower, and went with Pete. It was a smart move. His crew is phenomenal. Everyone knows their stuff. If you drive though New Canaan during the holidays and enjoy the holiday lighting, you'll see Santella's work. He's a great guy and businessman. He'll greet you with a smile, a story and a fair price.

We used them just once. Their service was excellent but the price was high. I really liked the guy who came out. He was very professional and very efficient. He took the time to explain what the problem was and he offered several possible solutions. They were prompt. This was kind of an emergency and they were out within a couple of hours. They were just very neat and clean. They had a very professional outfit. In fact the other thing was the courtesy of the scheduler was outstanding. I thought the price was high. I had similar work done by others and the price seemed quiet high; otherwise I would call them back in a minute. The price wasn’t a small difference between them and the others. It was twice as much as I have paid other people for similar work. We might use their services again in the future but I would probably shop around first.

Serviceman was prompt and courteous. Completed in a timely fashion.

They came to look at the job on August 2, 2010. They showed up, but did not send their estimate to me right away after saying they would. I didn't receive their estimate until August 16, 2010. They were the second most expensive. They are good electricians; there is no doubt about it. The price was more than I wanted to pay for this job.

Since this was not a big or complicated job, I was very pleased that the electrician could come the day after I had called them. He arrived punctually, quickly found the problem, had the needed spare part in his truck, did his work and then cleaned up after himself. He then also fixed a problem with one of my under-the-counter lights in the kitchen, gave me some good advice about that system and left. I found him to be very helpful, efficient and friendly. All in all, it was an excellent experience.

I liked this electrical company. They knew what they were doing. We have found no problems with the stuff they did. They were able to handle the large job we had fairly well. We would use them again in the future.
