Casey was referred to us by a friend whom he had done interior painting for. Casey did a great job and showed up when he said he was going to show up, had a great work ethic, was professional and pleasant to our family, friends and neighbors for the two weeks it took to complete the work. I walked around the whole house exterior on a daily basis at the end of every day to see how work was progressing, and, I have to say, Casey did meticulous work, cutting in edges and detailing the trim and touching up the sides of the shingles where they are cupping a bit from weather. Too bad Angie's List doesn't have the ability for subscribers to post photographs, because this is a big, old house from the late 19th century, full of odd bump outs and uneven walls and such, and our house now looks like a new house - I can't imagine anyone doing a better job of painting it than Casey has.
Description of Work: We had our house exterior painted by another painting company a few years ago, and the paint was peeling and chipping off in palm-sized flakes. Turns out that the other company did not prime the shingles correctly (or at all, on one side of the house). Casey sanded the whole house, bringing most of it down to bare wood, replaced a few sills that had rotted, and power washed, primed and painted the shingling, trim, and porch railings/banisters. He pointed out to us where we needed a new gutter and also let us know that one of the porch railing posts is starting to weaken from water damage, which we were unaware of. His pricing was very fair and I have already recommended his services to someone I work with.

We hired Brian Casey of Casey Painting Company; 10 Broadway; Milford, CT 06460; 203-928-7591; Connecticut License No. 561905 to retape and repaint three rooms in our home. After several starting day delays (death in family, not finished with the previous job, etc.) he finally arrived to begin the project. The first day he arrived, everything seemed to go well, with the exception of finding paint and white spackle all over our hard wood floors. However, on the second day, we left a sealed envelope on our kitchen counter with money inside with our son's name on it. When we arrived home from work we noticed the envelope was missing. After calling our son and the rest of our adult children to see if they came to our house during the day and took the envelope and being told and quot;noand quot; by all, we called him to see if he put the envelope away somewhere. When he didn't return our call, we called the police to report the theft. He told the police that his driver's license had been suspended because of a DUI and that a female friend had driven him to our house that day. He told the police that he allowed this woman to enter our home, and that he saw her and quot;roamingand quot; through our house and that she must have taken the envelope with the money in it. He has made no attempt to pay us back, or to refund the 50% down payment we made to him. We reported all of this to the Connecticut State Police. We later did an internet search on the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection website and found that the license he shows on his contract is invalid, and as far as we can find, his address is invalid also. This man may be advertising painting services under a different name, address, and license number.
Description of Work: He was hired to tape and sand wall seams, then repaint three rooms.
