It went well, service man was friendly, courteous, and helpful. He took a water test to help identify my problem with ruined laundry and staining in my sinks, toilets and tub. However, I never got the results? I called and the owner was too busy. Penciled me in on his calendar to dig out my report but I guess he never found it. Shopping for new water company that cares about their customers.:(

Doug is very responsive and extremely patient. His quote is also very competitive. The best part is that he really follows through with the job and promptly addressed any issues. Highly recommend!

Response from Affordable Water Treatment LLC
Everyone, Please note the original date of this review, July 9, 2014 and the work completed date of Sept 1, 2011. This is because after several attempts to have this customer contact us by phone with no response we finally turned this her over to collection. We try to avoid this route as it causes problems and costs for all involved. Even though we are victorious in most cases we never feel as though we have won. We have great customers and would rather work things out without outside sources. We try to work with every customer offering several payment options. Unhappy customer, I am terribly sorry that you felt you needed to trash our reputation in this way especially after the nice letter you just sent us about this situation. I believe a simple phone call could have cleared things up easily. I know there is no way to please all customers but we do take it personal when someone has a problem and try to fix it. As I would rather be constructive than nasty I will list out where things are. First lets get the complaint correct. Category - should be under "water pumps" not water softeners. (no big deal) Work completed - The job was completed December 15, 2011 not September. Approximate cost - You were charged $ 2023.80. Labor was also discounted as we knew you were a new homeowner and gave you a break without you even having to ask for it. Way over charged. - We use manufacturers recommended pricing. We came in within our estimate of 18-2200 in well. unfortunately we also found problems outside the well which are not as common. Wires on the ground - We discussed this during the job. Weather and terrain were factors. You would call in spring. If you did not have a local contractor we would try to help you find one. Shoddy work - We believe that the previous homeowners work is what your referring to. There were many problems as the previous homeowner had done his own work as you had even mentioned to us, not just related to the well. As you could not leave work while we worked we kept you informed of progress during the entire job with many calls to you. It was decided between you and I that a temporary wire above ground would be the best option for the shorted wire in the ground until a contractor could be hired to dig the trench for it. We as you know did not charge you for any trenching. We installed the temporary wire so you could move in quickly as requested. On the March 2012 statement you sent a hand written letter saying you wanted the trench done at our cost. To which we responded: Please contact us about your well situation. The only phone number you gave us to reach you at, as you may know, has been disconnected. This is the first contact we have had from you since the pump replacement. To date you have not called us. We received your letter dated May 28, 2014. To sum it up without going into too much of your personal detail it states we were fairly priced and finances are tough for you right now we also appreciate the $100 payment included. Unfortunately there are many out there that will take advantage of you. My crew and I refuse to work that way. Unfortunately the internet always has something cheaper. These dot coms do not have to pay insurance, have licensed personal, mandatory continuing education, or even be in this country. As a mater of fact most never even see the equipment. Many manufacturers will no longer warrantee equipment sold through these companies. I wish there were a way I could have contacted you by phone after getting this last letter as I wanted to make things work for you. But again we had no phone number for you. Please understand once we turn you over to collection the process takes over. Our phone number hasn't changed. We have been very busy lately. Call, I don't bite. If you don't get me directly then leave a contact number and a good time to call. People like to get loud to prove their point, some how they think it makes them right. I offer you no arguing and no yelling. The worst that can happen is we don't agree. Check out my other reviews, we are good people although not perfect. I have never asked anyone for any of these reviews and was pleasantly surprised when I came across them. Wouldn't it be nice if we could take a bad thing and make it good.

Affordable water installed a water softener system in my current house 7 years ago and installed another system in my prior home. In both cases, they were great about installing only what was needed to solve my water issue, rather than trying to sell a standard package. Pricing is very competitive and my system has worked great. Also, I have them service my system once per year and bring a 1 year supply of salt when they come.

Very knowledgable, and gave us all the details. No pressure from him but our pressure is great now. Did a great job on hard water with iron and manganese and we are happy. Would definitely recommend.

We had never used this person before but received a recommendation from our usual plumber guy when he could not respond as quickly as we needed. I think he might have been on vacation when we he took my frantic call. We were in a crisis. My partner is in a wheelchair, so the lack of any running water at all was especially tough. This contractor left another job to come to help us and arrived within 60-90 minutes. He shifted his schedule for the next few days to make sure that he could help us out in a timely manner. He also showed me how I could turn on the circuit breaker once every day for 5-10 minutes to get the toilets flushed once a day. He remained in contact with us every single day until we had running water again. Although reluctant to give us a written quote (he was concerned about the amount of rock he'd encounter while digging the new trench and wasn't sure the first piece of equipment he brought in would be sufficient), he did give me steady updates to reassure me that he was still running close to the original verbal estimate he'd given. When you don't have running water, there are few options -- you take the first guy who comes to help. One doesn't have the luxury of shopping around for quotes. Anyway, when the job was done, he handed us a bill that was actually a litle bit LESS than the amount he had originally quoted. We would recommend this contractor to others without any reservations whatsoever. He is the owner and performed all the work himself. He was pleasant to deal with, always punctual, and very much a man of his word.
Description of Work: Dug extensive trench to install new pipe from the well to our basement after the existing pipe developed a leak which could not be replaced since we'd built a deck on top of it. Also relocated my water treatment equipment to make access to my faucets more convenient without increasing the price.

Thanks for all the description. It was definitely a tricky job but not impossible. As you pointed out most people would like a dollar amount up front but not knowing what obstacles we must cross for this type of work we would rather give an educated estimate rather than a inflated price. I'd say it worked out good in your case. We are very happy to work with "real world" people who have understanding. Still can't understand why your previous water treatment tech installed the system the way he did. Glad everything is working out now. Thanks lots.

The pump replacement was a bit expensive, but the improvement in water circulation is worth it. They are a local company that has a same person that comes and service us every year.
Description of Work: They replaced my water pump, installed the original water conditioning system back in 2004 and service it annually.

Thanks for the review. We could have used one of the many "cheaper" pumps we have access to. But we used a Goulds pump because we know we wont have to worry about quality. But don't be fooled lately even they have fallen victim to big box sales competition so to compete they now offer different versions. The extra cost is hardly noticeable over the life span of the pump. We prefer to stay with the GS series as we installed in your well. This is a stainless steel pump that has proven itself to us over the years. With a factory that not only stands behind its product but has come out many times and given training on their product line. It is the same series that I have installed in my own well. Also not quite as common but we just pulled a pump out of a customers well with a date code of April 1973. That's 41 years old! Thanks again for the comments.
