Steve's Small Engine Repair

Steve had my Stihl string trimmer for almost 4 weeks. When he returned it to me I eventually found he had broken it, failed to repair and tried to hid this issue. My trimmer ran very roughly for about 1 hour and when I looked closer I found he had broken the spark plug wire assembly. The spark plug rubber boot was now missing, he had jury rigged a wire to the spark plug and covered the connection poorly with electrical tape. Since the spark plug cap is a friction fit with the boot and now wouldn’t stay on, he glued the cap to the engine housing which failed almost immediately. His repair job was very poor at best and he left my trimmer in a state that was dangerous to operate. Do not bring any repair work to Steve, he is dishonest and untrustworthy.

Steve repaired our push lawn mower 5-7-20. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He is competent, fast, and friendly. I called before driving there, and Claudette was very helpful. I highly recommend Steve's Small Engine repair!

Had problem with my Craftsman mower, Steve found it was a bad carburetor, it was replaced and oil changed when he found it "dirty". After this was done. I brought him my Ariens snowblower for a tune up. He did a blades to handles inspection, not just an oil change and new spark plug like some companies do !! Both services were completed in more than a timely manner and priced very resonable. His tune ups and what they include are listed on his web page.

Steve did a great job fixing our tractor. He was at our house within an hour and a half of making the call and had the tractor fixed and back within a couple of days. He was thorough and the tractor has not worked this good in a long time.

Steve came to pick up mower within an hour of my call, and had it completely ready and returned to me within a day and a half! Mower operates as good or better than when new. I would give Steve's business the highest recommendation possible. Fast, polite, reliable, and very reasonably priced!

I have a John Deere Tractor that I bargained in when I got my house since the previous owners were retiring south. Like many things in the home - the tractor was not as well taken care of in the past few years and quickly developed a loud metal on metal noise when engaged to drive. I looked on google and saw talk about $800 transmissions and $1000 repair bills. I couldnt fix it myself so I called Steve. It was immediately evident that Steve had a good knowledge of tractors as he began asking questions about the gearbox casing and the machine itself. When he saw it he had a good idea of what was wrong and preplaced pulleys and a belt I could not get to. He also fixed the engage - disengage lever for the hydrostatic drive and sharpened the blades , balanve the deck and lubed the entire machine including the steering wheel assembly. It runs quiet and better than I ever imagined. He could have charged me Hundreds more as I am sure a John Deere dealer would have amd made me wait weeks - but he fixed it well, inexpensively and in days. He is an honest and competent small engine and yard machine person who I highly recommend to anyone

Steve's service was great. I called in the afternoon and he came the next morning to pick the tractor up. He had it back to me within 48 hours. I had him do a full tune-up as well. The first mow after I got the tractor back, I ran over a stick that snapped the belt that runs the blades. I called Steve on a Sunday. I was shocked when he actually answered the phone and came out within an hour with a new belt to fix the problem, To top things off, he only charged me for the belt! I would definitely recommend for any type of small engine repair.

Everything went very well. Steve was extremely responsive. He came out the same day to pickup the snow blower from my house. He not only completed all the work in a very professional manner but he also had all the work done and the snow blower returned to my house within 48 hours! I am very happy with Steve and the work he has done. I would recommend his business to any family, friends and neighbors!

This review is long overdue - our snow blower died February or March 2014 (wouldn't start) and my husband was unable to fix it. We found Steve via the internet and decided to see how much a repair was before we replaced it. We were thrilled that he offered pick up and delivery for a small fee since that saved us a lot of hassle. He was VERY busy (was the busy winter time for snow blowers,) but he called us within a day to give us a quote. We went ahead with the repair and were happy to have our snow blower back before the next storm came. I don't recall everything that Steve did to our machine, but he gave it a nice tune up, which it really needed as it is getting old. We did have one setback where shortly after we got it back, it stopped wanting to propel forward. We called Steve and he came and fixed it right in our driveway as it was a simple thing (apparently - I can't speak for the mechanics of it!) Please note, I believe the two issues were separate, and the 2nd issue was NOT related to the original repair. We will gladly use Steve's services again when needed.

.Everything was great. The mower was returned 3 days earlier than scheduled (and on a Saturday of a holiday weekend, no less).

My snowblower struggled through the first several snowfalls, so I took advantage of a warm-up to get a tune-up. I called Steve and received a return call quickly. I wasn't able to bring the snowblower to him, so for a small additional charge he came and picked it up. It took about a week (though it was over the holidays and no snow fell while he had it), and he dropped it back off in great shape. He explained what he had done and gave some tips about keeping it running well.

After calling, I delivered my mower to Steve, who works in a large garage behind his house. Two days later I received a phone call saying the work was complete. When I went to pick it up, he explained in detail what he found and what he had done. He started the mower on the first pull, gave me a few pointers about use of the choke and helped me put it into my CRV. I hadn't had my mower serviced in five years and it was pretty crusty but Steve returned it nice and clean. Throughout the whole process Steve was professional and courteous and even thanked me for bringing my mower in. Evidently he offers a senior discount, but because I was so pleased I didn't ask for it. I would definitely do business with Steve again. Over the years I have had mowers and snowblowers serviced and this was by far my best experience.
