With Hurricane Sandy bearing down on the East coast, i took a chance to see a transfer switch could be installed, in case I lost power and could run off a generator. I called Lloyd Brink and he had a crew out to my house in a few hours. I underestimated the size of the job, but a crew of two electricians were able to complete the job before the storm hit and to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: Install a transfer switch for a portable generator

Lloyd quoted to my husband a price of $75 over the phone for this job, and was told that we were considering other offers. Lloyd then called me and said, "I told your husband $75 but this is a pretty simple job so I can do it for $50." The work was performed while we were at work; no bill was left and he said he would mail us a bill. When he did so, it was for $75. I called his company immediately but had to leave a message. I indicated he had made an error in the amount, and that he should call me back. He never did, despite repeated calls and messages. Bills continued to come, phone calls were made, never reaching Lloyd. Finally, after a bill threatened to go to collection, my husband faxed a letter disputing the charge, and received a call from Lloyd. He claimed that he had worked at our home not once, but twice (not true, we had only recently moved in when we called about the light) and that I "must have misunderstood" the quote. Very unprofessional. Don't use him.
Description of Work: Rewire and replace an outdoor light fixture shorted out by rain.

I was contacted promptly by the owner and was quoted a price of $50. He had spoken to my husband previously and had given him a price of $75 but told me he could do it for $50 instead. We left the light fixture where he could get it and he did the work while we were at work. He assured us it was no problem to bill us. When the bill arrived, it was for $75. Despite repeated calls (which go unanswered) and voicemails (which never elicit a call back to us) we continue to get bills for $75. We have agreed to pay $50, and asked him to phone us, but he never does.
Description of Work: The job was to repair a post light outside our home. We purchased a new light fixture and they installed it.

Mike arrived almost on time (he got lost, phoned for directions). He was very workmanlike. He did about 2 1/2 hours' of work. It was not cheap but fair and well done.
Description of Work: I had three fluorescent fixtures to replace with new units, two of them with a bit of extra work. LB sent one of a half-dozen electricians (my guy Mike told me when I asked); he and one other semi-specialize in residential repair work like mine. He's a tech-school grad with 5+ years' experience. I found LB on an Internet Search; he was one of three listed in my area. The other two responded by e-mail in half an hour or so; he phoned in five minutes.
