The 3 guys from Greene Moving Company were friendly, punctual, polite, very careful, and efficient. Nothing was lost or broken, and no walls were scraped. They even re-attached one side of my wooden desk that had pulled apart years ago. They re-assembled the bedframe and re-attached the mirror to the dresser. These good-humored guys were fun to work with. Since this was a local move, I was charged by the hour. The final price -- $770 (including insurance) -- was less than the estimate of $1,300 probably because I had moved the pictures, computer, clothes and a lot of boxes ourselves before the movers came. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Greene Movers.

The movers arrived just a few minutes after the scheduled time, set right to work and worked for the next six hours straight, stopping only for a short lunch break. There were three men who did a fantastic job moving all our things during some incredibly hot weather. We had about 90% of the items labeled with their destination in the new house, and all of our furniture had been disassembled to make sure that we were paying only for direct moving work. Other than a couple of minor misses on where boxes ended up, almost everything was placed where we had asked for it to go. While we are still finishing unpacking, there have been no signs of any damage to our belongings. The men who moved our things were very friendly and quickly responded to changing circumstances, even accommodating a couple of moments of indecision when it was realized that our original plans for an item were going to need to be modified and we had to discuss what would happen first. In fact, they were so accommodating that they even offered to stay and help set up the furniture or move some other things into place within the rooms. However, we declined their offer to keep the overall cost lower. The final price was nearly double what I had estimated, since I apparently had a poor grasp of just how much stuff we owned. However, the company's rates were exactly as quoted. I do wish we could have had someone with a better understanding of the moving process than myself to come and assess our belongings ahead of time so we had a more accurate idea of what the total cost would have been. Fortunately, we had budgeted to allow for this expense before our move. As I've told my wife several times since the move, they were worth every single penny!

Greene Moving was terrific. I spoke briefly with Patrick who was very nice, then made all the arrangements with Ellen. She patiently explained their policies and procedures and thoroughly answered my questions over several phone calls. They have a busy business and are very professional. On moving day Jason and two other men arrived and worked carefully and efficiently. We managed to have a few laughs too! It was a semi-involved move in that they had to bring belongings to three different locations, and the final one was up six flights....thank goodness for elevators. Jason was the foreman and he was very attentive if I had any questions or comments. When it came time for the bill, there were no surprises. Patrick had given me an estimate and that's just about where we ended up. I got their name from Angie's List....I didn't want to spend the time researching who to choose for a mover, and this recommendation alone was worth the Angie's subscription. By the way, I needed a storage company too; Ellen recommended CT Self-Stor in Glastonbury, and it has been excellent as well. If you want peace of mind, this is the company to go with.

My husband, daughter and I were living on the 4th floor of a 4 family home. We purchased a house in the same neighborhood and knew that we would need help moving. We looked on Angie's list for a moving company and we came across Greene moving and storage. I knew that they were right for us the second we called. The receptionist was very sweet and extremely helpful! We set the date and in between I went to their facility to pick up moving supplies which they provided to us for free just for using their movers. The gentleman that helped me with the boxes was the owner and was the nicest man. The day of the move the Movers showed up right on time and got right to work. These 3 men were AMAZING!! Very polite, knowledgeable, and had an awesome sense of humor. They never stopped moving! They moved our entire apartment, which was no easy feat, in under 3 hours! At one point, they had to remove the railing in the back hallway in order to fit the box spring. Unfortunately the railing broke but it was not a fault of theirs. They felt so bad they actually took some money off of our final bill to cover the cost of fixing the railing. I was beyond impressed. I was even more impressed when they unloaded the truck in under an hour at the new house! Once done, they walked through the house with us and made sure we were happy with where they had put everything. If I had the money I would of tipped them $100 a piece! I would HIGHLY recommend this company to my family and friends. Greene moving and Storage goes above and beyond the call of duty!!

They were some issues. They were pricey.

Greene Moving & Storage was a major factor in a smooth move from Connecticut to New York City. The team was professional, hard-working, considerate and pleasant. They took two days for the job - one day to move the contents out of my old apartment, and one day to drive to New York City and move everything into my new apartment. They were a pleasure to work with, and very reasonably priced for the job. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs the services of a moving company. They definitely deserve an "A" overall!

My mother was moving from a 6-room condo into a one-bedroom apartment in a senior housing building. The apartment became available on very short notice so I was not optomistic that we would find movers for the 1st of September. I contacted Greene Moving and Storage based on the raving reviews on Angie's List. I spoke with Patrick who was very accommodating and was able to schedule the move within the timeframe needed. I was not going to be available on the day of the move so I was very apprehensive about whether the movers would show up on time, whether they would damage anything, how much they would ultimately charge, etc.... I called the office twice before the move with lots of questions and spoke with Ellen. She was very reassuring and helpful. My sister was present for the move and had nothing but wonderful things to say about the team of movers. The word she kept using was "professional". They arrived on time and ready to work. One of the team members had called out sick so only two movers arrived. However, they worked very efficiently. Some of the furniture was being delivered to a storage unit before the rest was delivered to my mother's new apartment. My sister had a bit of trouble remembering where the storage unit was located, but the movers never complained about the slight delay. My 6-year old niece was present and a little rambunctious, but it never fazed the movers. A few days after the move I went to the storage unit to check on the furniture the movers had left there. I was extremely impressed by how well secured the furniture was. A glass dining room hutch was securely wrapped and the movers had left a blanket on the dining room table to protect it. It is refreshing to deal with such an efficient and professional company and group of employees.

Three guys showed up on time; checked what we needed to move & got to work. The items were handled carefully - wrapped & padded as needed. The guys were friendly & easy going. We discussed the tripto NH & estimated their arrival time, which was right on schedule. (Same day move) Everything was unloaded & placed as we asked. There weren't any damage issues. They took extra care to cover everything removed from the van as it was sprinkling rain occasionally. We placed painters drop cloths over the carpet ourselves. There were no dings to walls or woodwork in either house. The cost was exactly the estimate. I felt that the documentation (bills of lading; inventory lists) was too informal, however everything was accounted for. All in all, this was absolutely the easiest move we have experienced. I just moved into the area, and needed my two PODs, containing the contents of a full 3br house, moved in. The PODs took over 8 hours to pack, so I expected a similar schedule to unpack them. All interactions over the phone were clear and professional - they led me to choose Greene over others I called. An item of note: the business listing when I looked at it said no insurance, but Patrick Greene confirmed they are insured, so i scheduled with confidence. He promised a team of 3, explained the minimum billing time and the hourly rate, and took my information. I called a week before to confirm, and they had me scheduled, and I got a confirmation call the evening before. The day of the move, three men arrived on time as I expected, and were pleasant, friendly, and professional. Each introduced himself and shook my hand. I showed them the PODs and the house, and they reassured me my only job "was to stand by the door and point" and they would take care of the rest. The went to work immediately, were very careful with my belongings and with my house, took only a few short breaks (it was rather hot that day), and were done unloading both PODs within 90 minutes. I asked if they could help me put together my platform bed, and they said they would help with whatever I needed to be done. They were so fast and efficient I ended up paying the minimum charge because they were done faster than I had ever expected. This is the second time I've had a move like this with PODs, about the 6th time I've moved using movers, and these were by far the best movers I've ever had in several states. I can't say enough about Patrick Greene and his staff - I know when I'm ready to move out of my current home, I can call Greene with confidence.

The movers arrived on time and after a tour of the premises went right to work. There were three of them and they were continually in motion. They carefully loaded the truck and asked questions when needed. I have lots of books so there were lots of heavy boxes. When we got to the new house my computer desk would not fit through the office door, so they immediately set to work removing one leg of the desk to get it in the room and they reassembled the desk where I wanted it. They also set up the bed in the master bedroom so I wouldn't have to deal with that after a day of moving.They were conscientious about getting the right boxes, etc. in the right rooms and they were carefull with my things. It was a long day of moving, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, but they were cheerfull and friendly all day long and did a great job.

The crew from Green did a fantastic job keeping everything straight between what was going over to the house and what was to go in storage, and they orchestrated it all with ease, taking great care to wrap and protect all of our belongings. They did it all with great humor and tolerance for all our little idiosyncracies. The people who answer the phone over there are great also--very polite and eager to accommodate. And their quote came in much less than other estimates. Fallon, for example was ridiculously high. I would use Greene again in a heartbeat.

Mover was on-time and quick. We packed all boxes and contents were delivered without any damage. The move-in date was delayed, and the owner was accomodating and understanding. The actual cost came in slightly below the estimate.

See above - they did a GREAT job - were very careful with our belongings, were very courteous and professional (and very sweet with my kids), and worked VERY hard.

Just wonderful. We had to move a.s.a.p. because of a quick closing, and the apartment to which we were moving - still under construction - had extremely limited windows for use of their freight elevator. Finding a mover that would take us on such short notice, and would do it during the building specified time slots (Sunday only, or weekdays from 4p.m. onward!) without it costing us the earth, was proving to be impossible until I called Greene!! The booking was effortless, and all of the costing provided before the job was specific, simple, and reasonable (hourly rates specific to the hours of the move, with only a minimal rate increase for work after 5p.m.). The crew were personable and unbelieveably efficient - with all of our things packed, they had the truck loaded in absolutely no time, all while taking good care of our belongings and securing things well in the vehicle! They insisted on doing everything non-stop, so as to minimize our cost as much as possible - and the single incident of impact damage on one of our bookcases, they brought it to our attention immediately, apologized profusely, and promptly details all of our options for a repair - including a reference to another specfic, trusted provider. (We did not need to follow up on that, however, as my husband and I both judged the dent minimal and harmless!) Please note that the hourly rate is from door-to-door (departure from their facility until return to their facility); as long as you plan accordingly, however, the overall job cost will be completely sane. My husband and I enthusiastically recommend these guys to anyone looking for a mover - we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. And should we be relocating again any time in the near future, you can bet that we will be giving them a call!

Great move, cost half of what we expected, they were very friendly, hardworking, and professional. They didnt stop for a break even thought it was 90 degrees and 80 percent humidity out.

They were amazing. They were very quick to respond. They were quick with their quotes. They brought the dumpster, picked it up quickly and brought us another one. They were awesome.

The movers were on time and the entire process was pretty simple and straightforward. My only gripe (albeit minor) is that they didn't pack everything onto the truck and I had to haul a few things myself (some boxes, plants, various other items). The reasons they cited was that they couldn't secure it enough to prevent it from bumping into my TV and other equipment. Not a reason to avoid them, in fact I couldn't recommend them enough, just beware that not all items can be moved on the truck.

I was extremely pleased overall. They helped me plan the move dates so that it fit best into my schedule and were punctual on both sides. I particularly liked that they were able to tell me a specific date that they could deliver my furniture as opposed to the spread of dates that most companies provided. They were able to get all of my furniture (including a large couch that I was worried wouldn't fit) in my new apartment.
