My experience with Budget Dry could not have gone better. They did a great job from start to finish. I was very impressed with the crew's professionalism. The egress window and other windows look great. This is a great example of why I would hire Budget Dry again. A couple weeks before the work was set to begin, I was informed that my central A/C unit needed to be moved out of the way before any digging could be done. Two things concerned me about that. First, the extra cost of having the unit disconnected and second, not having the unit available so close to memorial day weekend, which is when it tends to get really hot and humid. Had I known that initially, I probably would have scheduled the work to be done in early May before it got hot. Because that part was not in the original estimate, Budget Dry picked up the cost of the A/C technician to do the disconnect / reconnect. (they contacted my regular A/C company to do the work, which I really liked). Jason started the digging on a Saturday so his team could get a head start and finish the project as quickly as possible so that they could get the A/C unit back up as soon as possible. The concrete cutters came in on Monday and the installation crew came in early on a Tuesday to do their work, even though it had been raining in the early morning hours (I wasn't expecting them because of the rain). The rain stopped around they time they got here and held off the rest of the day. My A/C unit was back up and running a couple days later, just in time for consecutive 90+ degree and humid days. Thank you to Jason, Chris, Mike, Tim, Brandon and Andrew for the great work.

My house is about 90 years old and the basement had an old school style drainage system and a portable sump pump. My issue was that the water table was so high that the water was coming in the original sump pump drain. I have had a "damp basement" for the last 10 years. Since installing, all the snow has melted and several days of heavy rain have happened and the basement is DRY!! Such a beautiful sight after years of dreading going down in the basement to see what happened after every storm. This is actually the second time I have used them. The first time was to repair a crack in the mortar within the stone foundation wall to stop some seepage of silt/mud and water. This was done in October. they injected material to seal the crack and painted the walk with water resistant paint. That has held up beautifully as well. Mark and Brianna have been wonderful to work with. Brianna was great in coordinating and scheduling. I didn't even need to be at the house when they came to do the work either time. Both times they left my house and basement clean and secured. It was great to not have to worry about having to be at home and knowing everything was being taken care of. I certainly recommend them and will definitely hire them again... I just hope I don't need to. :)

Just bought a house and wanted to get the sump pump inspected. The guy showed up, very respectful, saw the pump, and told me that all he can do is normal "outside" inspection and make sure it works, because it was an old pump. Very happy with the guy and the company.

I had a wet basement and the provider chiseled out a trench and installed a sump pump. The positive: the area where the trench is installed works and water doesn't come in. The other positive is that the job was relatively inexpensive. So, the "job" worked, water is not coming in. But, I think the job looks bad / ugly. The cement they used to cover the trench has already split in several spots plus it is super thin in some areas. This is not what I consider a quality job. The did solve my water problem but it doesn't look good. I wish I had spent a little more and gotten a nicer looking job. If you want cheap -- get these guys; it works. But looks ugly. If you want a job that looks nice, then don't get these guys. Note: I don't remember the exact date of installation of price. The above May 1st date and 3000 is my best memory.

I offer the following information not as an excuse rather an explanation. As you may remember when you had a problem originally you called and I came right out to inspect your basement. Together we developed a solution to extend your system. Had we been notified of any additional issue we would have responded in a similar fashion I will send a diagram of the footer construction to help explain why there is a hollow sound. Basically the foundation extends 4” into he basement under the floor. There was originally anywhere from 2” to 3” of cement on top of the footer and then the floor get a little thicker after the footer ends. We need to put a layer of stone approx. ¾” thick and the corrugated plastic over the stone to aid into the water connectivity to the pipe. When the floor was originally poured it’s all one piece. Now we joined 2 sections together. Some cracking is to be expected because the cement is not being made in a commercial truck but by hand and requires more water. As the water evaporates shrinking occurs and crack between the old and new concrete can occur. However I would agree that the crack is more significant in the corner adjacent to the pump. This rarely occurs and I am not sure why it happened. Just like the first time you had an issue I responded immediately. I understand this is how she feels but it doesn’t properly reflect what kind of company we are.

Very prompt and professional. Well worth $29. Will certainly check in with them again if services needed.
Description of Work: Purchased $29 general crawlspace inspection through Angies List. They contacted me right away and set up convenient appointment. Representative did quick (15-20 minute) inspection of crawl space and exterior foundation. Brought few issues to light that would have gone ignored. He then presented their services regarding waterproofing/humidifier.

This was a job I had been putting off for years, partly as my previous estimate from another provider was quite high, and the work very involved. Once I found Budget Dry, that changed everything. I had basement water leaks from the foundation penetrations for two wells and the sewer line. The bulkhead leaked like crazy. It is a full concrete basement so I really wanted to return it to it's potential. Budget dry got right back to me after I initially contacted them through Angie's List, came out right away, and came up with some very reasonable solutions, mainly injections for the foundation penetrations and installation of a floor drain with sump in front of the bulkhead. I went ahead and got them to replace both the inside (waterdamaged) door, and the outer door set (Bilco). Everything was done on time except the shipper for the Bilco doors damaged the unit, so that took a little more time. I very much appreciated that the office staff kept in contact all through the process, with reminders about the appointments for both estimating and actually doing the work. The bottom line is that the basement is now completely dry, through many very heavy rains over the last six months since the job was completed. I could not recommend anyone higher. Fantastic job on all accounts.

Ended up doing a bit of pressure salesmanship before we were ready - would not give us a few days to decide. Really kept pushing us to make the decision that day - and his estimate was over $7000. Then he convinced us to just apply for the financing he recommended to see if we would be approved. OK so we did. Once he found out we would be approved, he pushed even harder to make the deal that night - stating that we had 3 full days to cancel the contract if we decide otherwise. So hesitantly we did that. After 24hours when we decided we didn't want to go $7000 in debt over this issue, we emailed him and let him know and he replied back all p***** off. I will copy and paste his exact response via email here: Jeff Davis (Jeff@budgetdry.com) "I can't believe I just got this email after I spent 4 hrs at your home I thought we were very clear on everything, your a very nice guy and your wife is lovely but after this I don't even want your business..." Sent from my Verizon 4G LTE SmartphoneOn Jul 24, 2015 11:04 PM, Sammy <rockwelldean@yahoo.com> wrote: "Hi Jeff Thanks for the inspection and discussions yesterday on our basement and crawl spaces. Unfortunately we have decided to exercise our 72 hour right to cancel the two proposed contracts - as this basement with its low ceilings and low air ducts - will never make for a finished basement - so we can't justify that expense for unfinished space. We would like to discuss the possibility of just the commercial grade dehumidifier and encapsulation of the two crawl spaces - as we originally had wanted - at a near future date. Kind Regards, Sam & Leslie"

We were under a bit of a time constraint and the company was very cooperative about getting an inspector out and then the technician to do the repairs on somewhat short notice. $495/crack seemed in line with prices I saw on a couple of other providers. Note, the $495 Angies List coupon price seems to be their regular crack repair price.

The two men measured for underground drain. I have done drainage projects in the past but wanted a "professional" opinion on this one. I thought the price was quite high because I did not feel the job needed to be as big as they proposed. One of the men kept calling "the office" to get advice and once even to ask how to use the equipment. They suggested a path for the underground pipe which went right through a 18x22 foot plywood platform (with 8" deep stone, held within large landscaping timbers) I have for a large trailer and they wanted me to either move the platform or remove a 4 foot section of the corner so the path would be straight! I said I would not want to do either and asked why the pipe could be routed around the corner and still get proper drainage. He reluctantly said yes it could but he would rather not do that and it would cost me a lot more. Based on how he proposed to do this "work around", requiring only a couple more feet of pipe and stone and 2-90 degree pipes, I could not see how it would cost a lot more money, . When we sat to discuss price, he asked for a piece of paper to draw a diagram of his proposal. I felt he should at least have the tools to give an estimate and not ask the potential client for his supplies. After drawing a somewhat crude diagram of the proposed job with a wide Sharpie marker, he gave me a price that was much higher than expected. After the experience and quote, I would not do business with this company.

I felt that the project manager that came out tried to push me into services and materials that I was not interested in. We have an oil tank that we wanted to make sure did not leak, and that we were going to take care of those issues. Due to the heavy snowfall of this past winter, we had some potential leakage issues. We really didn't feel that they were concerned with the priorities that were important to us, and we chose not to work with them. We found out later that this company is offering the inspection that we paid for through We felt that this company does not have any integrity and also doesn't care about the environment. The town building inspector got a report that there was an oil tank leakage in our basement, and we believe that Budget Dry told them this. However, there is no leakage, and we feel that this is harassment.

I'm sorry the member feels this way but I'm not at all sorry that we did the morally correct thing and took the high road, even if it means a lower score. We provided the service in a timely and professional manner. The Big Deal includes a $200 credit for future services for members that our free inspection does not. The Big Deal offering is also applicable in situations where we do not offer a free inspection, such as perspective buyers and professional house flippers. We obviously are concerned for the environment and we did call the building department because we cannot turn a blind eye to any egregious violation. On our inspection, we noticed what could have been a slight oil leak. The customer asked what would happen if he installed a drain in front of the oil tank and then his basement got water. We explained that anything on the floor, including oil, would go into a drainage system. We advised the customer to take care of the oil tank but on our initial meeting, we got the feeling this customer was (a) not very concerned about fixing the oil tank and (b) not a good match for us. When we work with a member, it is a partnership and we could tell working with this member wouldn't be a beneficial partnership. As for the report to the town, yes, we did call the building department. After calling the member several times to check on the suspected oil leak and not hearing back, we called the building department and asked them to take a look. The building inspector is more knowledgeable about oil tanks than we are. We are not oil tank experts. I think our calling of the building department shows that we do care about the environment. When the member says he doesn't care about the oil getting into the drain, we get concerned. I’m glad there is no threat to the environment in the end.

FOLLOW UP REVIEW: After a bad experience with a salesman from Budget Dry (see First Review below), I received a call from the owner Marc Weinstien saying he had seen my review and said he was as upset as I was about the experience. He stated that is not the way his company conducts business and asked if I would be willing to give him another chance to come out and look at my basement. He also said he would refund the money we had paid. I explained that In the meantime we had another company come and assess our basement and that their assessment was quite different than the person from Budget Dry and that we were considering going with them. Marc still wanted to come out if we were willing to have him. I agreed to have Marc come out and look at our basement, mostly as a courtesy because he had been so responsive to my negative review. His assessment was completely different from the previous person who came from Budget Dry. He said we did not have a water problem and recommended a high powered dehumidifier would take care of the problem. This was the same recommendation made by the other company we had come out and assess our basement. Although initially we had Marc come out as a courtesy we were very pleased with his knowledge and the fact that his system is made in the USA. We were impressed by the fact that he had enough integrity in his company to follow up with prompt and professional customer service that we decided to purchase the dehumidifier system from Budget Dry. The system was installed professionally and Marc followed up to see how the installation went anyhow the system is working. SO far so good. Good customer service is hard to come by these days. I am very happy that I agreed to give Marc a second chance. It turned a bad experience into a good one. First Review Perhaps this was a misunderstanding on my part but I felt this was a waste of my money. I expected someone to come to my house, identify what the problem was and make recommendations as to what work would need to be done. I showed the man what I suspected might be mold on the sheetrock in my finished basement. He agreed it was mold.I asked if he could assess what it might be from, what caused it and what we needed to do. He said "I am just a salesman". He looked at a portion of the outside foundation from a distance of about 6 feet and said it didn't look like there we're any cracks in the foundation. My husband and I suggested some different things that may have caused it and he simply agreed with us that all of those things may be true. We asked if he might be able to give us more of an idea what the problem is if we cut into the sheetrock. He said he couldn't do that because he is simply a salesman. We made a cut in the sheetrock and he looked at the wall and reported it was dry. I am VERY disappointed that this was advertised BY ANGIE"S LIST as a DEAL!!! This was NO DEAL. We have since contacted 2 more companies not affiliated with Angie's List and they are coming out FREE OF CHARGE to assess our problem. Even if they are simply "salesmen' at least they are FREE. Last time I purchase a DEAL from Angie
