They arrived as indicated and did the work over the next 3 days. This was done one month ago and so far everything is fine. The workmen answered any questions I had and when they did not know the answer, they referred me to the main office where answers were forthcoming. There was only one small glitch. After they finished and left, I noticed that some of the ceiling of the basement had not been insulated. I called them and sent pictures. It turned out that the worker and just forgotten to finish it and finished it the next day. The cost was exactly what they quoted. Their quote was a little higher than the competition, but I liked dealing with a family firm and it turned out that communication was excellent.

Completely satisfied with the experience from beginning to end. Budget Dry responded quickly to request for quote, after comparing their proposal I awarded them the contract, and the job was scheduled and performed exactly as promised,

Budget Dry incorrectly assessed the cause of water in my basement, identifying it as due to exterior water recommended a $9,257.50 interior French drain system be installed, required a $3.086 deposit several months before they could schedule work. During that time the actual cause was identified: a major interior plumbing leak. This could have been found by any reasonable inspection of visible exposed pipes. I requested a return of my deposit, due to incorrect assessment and no need for the work. In spite of the fact that only a sales call resulting in an error made by them, no work needed, they refuse to return the deposit. Details: In May 2018, Marc Weinstein came out to assess water in my basement. He diagnosed hydrostatic water seepage. Budget Dry scheduled demolition for an interior French drain system for the end of July, more than 2 months later. I did not recall him actually looking outside or doing anything particular to evaluate his diagnosis. He did not inspect the interior plumbing or he would have easily found the broken plumbing which was the actual cause. Once repaired, the water leakage completely stopped. At that time, by phone, they refused to return the deposit. Given the error in assessment, I asked that my deposit of $3,086.00 be returned. He and later Mr Jason Weinstein replied that they were “not convinced that that was the whole problem.” Their website presents them as experts in assessment, “whatever the cause.” I sent a letter to Messrs. Marc and Jason Weinstein dated July 9 and never heard back from them until I called their company Friday August 18, 2018. Mr. Jason Weinstein sent me an email the next day re-iterating his position of not returning my deposit. Update: At the end of August I filed a complaint with the CT Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Complaints. They attempted to mediate. Budget Dry retained their opinion that I was wrong. The AG’s office has maintained a record of my complaint. In November I filed a complaint in the New Haven Small Claims Court. That was decided in my favor January 31, 2019. Budget Dry promptly returned my deposit after receiving the paperwork of the decision.

they came and discussed the project with us. Gave us an estimate. Set a date for the work and performed the job, on time and within the estimated cost. Everything worked well and the problem seems to ave been solved. we consider this a successful home improvement project.

I was at my wits end trying to deal with water in our basement. We were preparing to sell our home, too, so time was of the essence. I called Budget Dry and scheduling the appointment was easy and actually enjoyable! The lady on the phone was so kind and answered my questions. We were able to get an appointment for an estimate in a few days. The guy came out, took a very detailed look at our property, and then sat down with us to explain our options. Honestly, I was a little nervous that the price was going to be $7,000+. The materials he was showing us on his iPad and his description of the sump pump made it seem like it was going to be way more than we could afford. When he told us it was going to be $1595, I was so thrilled! In addition to being budget-friendly, he was so nice and really explained how it would work for us, and why it was the best option. We were able to schedule the installation within a few weeks. They unfortunately had to reschedule at the last minute, but the company could not have been any nicer about the whole situation and fit us in two days later. When the day of installation came, the whole process took way less time than I thought! So happy to have found this company.

Where is the dust? I expected there to be lots of concrete dust from the basement floor being cut open but Budget Dry's staff not only hung plastic to contain the dust but did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. John even walked our dog so we could keep an eye on the other pets while the crew was walking in and out of the house (on the plastic they had put down to protect our new kitchen floor.). The job they did looks fantastic. I don't think i'll be able to tell where they went through the floor a month after the concrete dries. I'd very much recommend the work crew and the company.

Work went well, they charged $1500 to put a vapor barrier over 350sq ft of crawlspace. That seemed a bit expensive. Everything else was fine.

Project ended up costing more mainly because the mold was far more extensive than realized.. House no longer has a moldy smell to it plus no drainage issues.

This is a follow up to my original review. After my review was posted I was contacted by the head of the company. I explained my concerns and he seemed to understand them. He fully refunded the inspection fee. Frankly, this kind of response does not occur often and I commend Budget Dry for its responsiveness.
