I have NEVER written a review before, but I don't want anyone else to go through what I am going through. OT Builders was supposed to complete a bathroom addition for me. They were very friendly, nice, great people... Within a couple days of me reaching out to them, They were very quick to look at my home to see what I was looking to have done and figure out an estimate. They wrote up the contract and came back out within a couple of days. The bath remodel was going to be $8,000. They took the $4,000 deposit (50%) on March 27, 2023.. I asked how soon they can get started, they said in a couple weeks, and then it shouldn't take more than a week or so to complete.. however I had to stay on top of them about the permits and stay on top of them about any updates on when we can start. 3 months later, still no work was started, just a lot of runarounds and excuses why.. I hit some hard times and asked for the deposit back in June 2023 and I no longer was going to do the bathroom. They said okay and will refund the deposit. Days, weeks, months went by, still no deposit refunded. I reached out several times, I kept getting the run around about when they will refund the money. After 3 more months, I let them know They have 10 days to refund the money or I am going to bring them to court... Dec 12, 2023 I filed the court paperwork.... They were ordered by the judge to refund the deposit by July 1, 2024... it's now September 4, 2024 and still no refund.. Still dealing with the court and trying to get my deposit back. DO NOT use OT Builders.

Shady! Worst experience ever. To start they took over 1 year to finish the project. Also when the closing in the house was done, they didn't even touch the house for 2 months! Which I had to pay mortgage for and unable to live in. Horrible at answering the phone or they answer and say "let me call you right back!" And never call ! The employees they hire are unprofessional and you have to monitor them so they job is done barely right. Bad paintors too! In the bathroom the left a 5'' gap from the rear part of the toilet tank to the wall. Angel Otero told me that it was normal and that the previous toilet was like that. What a lie! The toilet wasn't and I have pictures to prove it. Also they changed small details about the design and construction without notifying me. Another example: our hardwood floors were sanded and coated. Angel Otero promised me two coats of clear the satin. I was there when the subcontractors were coating the floor and asked them personally how many coats they were going to do. They said that Angel Otero told them to do one coat only!! I asked Angel and he said that two coats were applied. LIAR! Horrible experience. And Carlos Torres and Angel Otero are both super shady trying to screw the system and do work half way. All these claims are real and I have pictures and documents to prove it. I tried to make them finish the job by holding the money but, Carlos Torres immediately threatened me with filing a mechanics lean on my house if I didn't pay!! Forcing me to sign the check over. To top it off. I Recently went to the city where my house was worked on. And guess what!??! They permits they took to do the work are still open and unfinished. And now after I paid them I can't get a hold of them. They don't answer the phone! I tried to close the permits myself however the inspector said that there is still work left to be completed !! The worst part is that they both presented themselves as current police officers. Which made trust them. God I was wrong. Please save yourself a huge headache and hire someone else.

We were getting a family home ready to sell and it was getting close to listing time, so I contacted OT Builders to finish the remaining tasks. Angel came out to assess the job the next day and Carlos followed up with a quote that same night. Knowing we were tight on time, they even started our work a week earlier than originally planned. Their workers were all very professional and courteous and the final results exceeded our expectations. Throughout the process Angel was always responsive to any concerns or questions I had, making sure I was 100% satisfied with their work. I would not hesitate to recommend OT Builders and plan on calling them when we are ready for our next project.
