It was a decent experience. There were some miss communication about the job that needed to be done, but it was okay.

I think I only used them once, but I never called them back. I don't think they fixed the problem, that is why I did not call them back. I don't think they even charged me.

Great. They showed up on time and were able to accommodate our schedule.

Tom Quinn has always been very responsive and complete the jobs very well. They completed all of these tasks, and each of the separate tasks came in at very good prices relative to other bids we received. They came on the dates needed, complete the jobs very well, and cleaned up. Would definitely use again.

I spoke first to Pat, the Quinn office manager, who diverted a plumber already in my area. He arrived within 1/2 hour. Service as described above. When Pat the Plumber called The Regional Water Authority, he gave a well articulated description of the problem, once we finally got through. Charged basic service fee. I have no idea how I would have managed without Pat's help. Although I carry Pipe-Safe insurance, I do not speak plumber. Pat coached me in providing the information RWA might want on the spot. We established a temporary back-up plan in case RWA didn't show. When the RWA fellow arrived, he noted that Pat the Plumber had been correct in identifying the problem and he fixed it. We used Quinn previously to install a tankless water heater. Tom Quinn gave us an up-front price for the unit and the work. The price didn't change when the work became a bit more complicated. Kenny and Dan, who did the hands-on installation, did a flawless job and left the area cleaner than it had been previously. All of these gentlemen provided professional service and gave us all the information we needed. They answered every question as it arose. Pat the office manager seemed to act as organizer, so there was never a time when the plumbers were standing around waiting for a part. My husband and I plan to use Quinn for whatever plumbing services we may need in the future.

This is the second time I have used Quinn. The first time they replaced a toilet at my mom's house, and they were efficient, professional, and courteous. This time I needed help in my own new house. The shower stall in the basement bathroom was in horrid condition. Tom Quinn came out within a day of my calling him, and the work was don by Ken and Dan within a week. Their craftsmanship was superb - the had to rebuild the drywall on one side of the unit to make it pretty, and move the pipes away from the outside wall. This was accomplished in 2 sessions, and I am enormously pleased with the result. I have a beautiful, grout-free, and leak-proof shower in the bathroom and everyone I dealt with at Quinn (including Pat in the office) was as pleasant and professional as the first time I hired them. I'm a believer.

We had used Quinn on a hot water replacement project a few months earlier. They were able to respond quickly and cleared the line in about two hours. They left the area clean and we have had no problems since.

I woke up to discover that my hot water heater (which was installed by another plumbing company) had died and flooded my entire basement. I'd used Quinn Plumbing before in the past (they came out to unclog a bathtub drain as an emergency call) a few years prior and at 6:45 a.m. they answered my emergency call for assistance with the hot water heater issue. The woman who answered my call was very courteous, sympathetic and made sure that my call was placed as a priority issue. Within an hour, a dispatched technician was at my house to assess the problem and had a brand-new hot water heater in their truck to handle the service required. The entire installation took no more than 45 minutes with 15 minutes for cleanup. I was left with all of the literature on the new appliance and instruction on how to operate it as well. I have to say that I was (and continue to be) very happy with the manner in which I was treated by Quinn and since my experience as a homeowner has proven to be difficult to find reliable service techs in the past, I consider Quinn to be my only source for plumbing needs. They're great!

I called Quinn plumbing on July 8th based on a recommendation from another customer. I called their emergency service line. There was no answer and no one called back. It is July 9th at approximately 11 am and they still haven't returned the call. :( That's not "emergency service" or "24/7" service. Disappointed.

The telephone contact with the company was pleasant, the job specification was simple and in both sides agreement and the scheduling was fast. A plumber came on time and provided an TIME estimate of less than a hour. Since it was a minor job, the plumber was done with the mechanical work in 10 min, and in-and-out of the house within 25 min (including checking all pilots and all functionality of the stove, billing, payment and packing of all tools into the company's van). However, the charge was by the full hour of $185. On my protest, I got a minor reduction in the charge. Southern Connecticut Gas Company charges by the half hour of $75. It will be my future choice.

I was down in my basement the other day and noticed water around my 10 year old hot water heater. I called Quinn plumbing & Heating on Monday December 3rd and explained my issue. Tom answered the phone and after taking down my information scheduled me for an appointment the next day to install a new unit. I received a call from the receptionist a little after my appointment time to advise me the plumber was on his way and would be arriving soon. I appreciated the notice and was happy to see Pat when he arrived. The layout of the hot / cold water and gas had changed from the old to the new unit so it took some time to re-work all the pipes but he took his time and made sure everything was hooked up properly and professionally. I appreciated the fact that Pat was able to kept his work area clean during the job and upon leaving I was left with a new hot water heater and no mess. I will be happy to call Quinn Plumbing & Heating in the future.

I called first thing in the morning and it was installed by 2:30 in the afternoon. I spoke to Pat in the office and she was very pleasant and efficent. The installers were very professional. When they were done they explained in detail my new heater.

I called the ofc to get an estimate on a plumbing job at my mom's house. Pat, the receptionist was SUPER helpful. After explaining the issue, she knew I needed carpentry work done and proceeded to coordinate their plumber to come give me an estimate along with a carpenter they work with. Ken, from Quinn, was prompt and came in to look over the job in detail. I appreciated his careful explaining of the job, and his patience with my questions. He even stayed to wait for the carpenter to come so they could discuss all of my carpentry needs (the floor had rotted out, and also, some tiles would need to be pulled). I appreciated that Quinn would coordinate to come on a wknd (I live out of state), and also, that Pat in the office really helped to set up a time for their plumber and the contractor. While I haven't decided to engage them yet (waiting on an estimate from the carpenter), I wanted to write and attest to their professionalism, b/c I really appreciated it.

After flushing the toilet, I went into the basement to check the laundry. The toilet was leaking into the basement. We only have one bathroom in the house so it was a critical repair but it was already after 5 PM. We checked Angie's List and contacted Mr. Quinn. We explained the situation to him and although he said he was "booked", he said he would try to get someone out that night. Within a half hour, his associate Jose contacted us and arrived approximately 30 minutes thereafter. In the interim, my husband had left to purchase a toilet. (Mr. Quinn also gave us the necessary information and a recommendation for the purchase of the toilet.) By the time Jose had removed the old toilet, my husband had returned with a new one. Jose was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and dedicated to getting the problem fixed and fixed correctly. He was at our home until 10 PM and worked diligently throughout that time. We couldn't be happier with the service we received. and would use Quinn plumbing and Jose again.

We had an emergency with a water backup in the sewer pipe from just overall build up. The water was backing up and coming out of a cut in for the washing machine so we had waste water spilling all over the floor and no way to use water in the house. I called Quinn Plumbing and Heating who had done a water heater for me and they responded very quickly on a Saturday evening. Tom actually called me from his Son's hockey game and took all my particulars. His plumber, Jose, was at my house within 30 minutes of me reaching Tom, which only took 10 minutes. they clean out the pipe and refit a cover to the cleanout as the old one was shot. Jose even reset out downstairs toilet as it was leaking so that he didn't have to come back and charge us for a second visit. The price is potentially a bit high, but for an emergency call, with the quality of the service, professionalism and prompt attention it was worth every penny. I will definitely be using Quinn for all my plumbing needs.

They quoted me $1497 for the heater. I didn't find out that the unit wasn’t working. When I went to turn the thermostat on, nothing ever happened. So, they came out and checked it out thoroughly. I wasn’t so thrilled about just being able to get it on because it’s a very old unit. So, I was expecting to replace it. I didn’t have any work done by Quinn Plumbing & Heating. My overall experience with them was very good for what they were able to do. Their responsiveness was very good. When it comes to their punctuality, they did everything which was pretty much right on the dot. Their professionalism was good. There wasn’t anything to be dissatisfied with.

Tom Quinn from Quinn's Plumbing was excellent. I called on Sunday and he got back to me right away and actually was able to get someone out to my house on Sunday but I was busy so they came out on Monday. Tom gave me several options of heaters and provided me with info on high efficiency heaters, but in the end we decided to put in a standard heater with the same specs as the old one. TOm's price was very competitive and was exactly what they quoted. The arrived exactly on time at 1:00pm and the job took about 3 hours. The tech installed new shut off values for me both for the water heater and for the main water line, at no additional charge. They took all the garbage away and left the site perfectly clean. The new unit works great and we have not had any problems with it. I would definitely recommend Quinn's if you need a new water heater installed.

Quinn Plumbing was great - they installed all new plumbing to a relocated kitchen and installed our appliances. ( dishwasher, faucet, toe kick heaters etc.) They were always on time, punctual and were all always quick to clean up behind themselves. We never had to call them back for any issues. They stuck to the budget and their promised appointment times. Would definitely use them again.

The problem is that they didn't turn on the water to the furnace after they left, and we didn't discover that until we lost heat almost 3 months later. It could have ruined our heating system if we hadn't acted quickly. They were very nice, very responsive and very professional. But that mistake is worrisome and I don't feel comfortable recommending them because of it.

Quinn was very responsive and his guys showed up when they said they would. He had to come back to bleed our system, there was minor damage to our basement floor, and his guys tore up one of our cardboard boxes for clean up. But these complaints are minor, as the system works great without problem and his price beat the nearest competitor by quite a lot.

No show No call No service Will not use again

Workers were 1 hour late the first day of a 2-day job; time was never confirmed for day two but they arrived 1/2 hour later than expected. Overall they did good work, except they did not explain that they were changing the pipe to the shower head, which made it much shorter than the original, and took with them a water flow control knob that I had installed. As a result of the pipe being shorter, my shower rack does not stay up and the hose to the detachable shower head gets in the way. I called immediately after noticing this, and they promised to return to fix the problem. I have called two more times; one of the plumbers came to return the flow knob and look at the shower, but still has not returned to do the work, and it has been five weeks. UPDATE (6/30/11): I set up another time in January for someone to extend the shower pipe. I was told he had my phone number. There was no call made to confirm, or explain why he didn't show up. We had snow that day, but the guy who came to work on my furnace made it up from Bridgeport to Hamden without a problem, and the guy from Quinn couldn't drive across town. I refuse to make any more phone calls to this company, because it doesn't do any good. I plan to write a letter of complaint to the BBB.

An excellent response time (less than 24 hours for a non-urgent call), friendly and skilled servicemen as well as office manager, and the patience to deal both tactfully and respectfully with my nonogenarian mother earn this plumbing company an A-Plus. Toilet removed and replace with new American Standard. Sealed properly.
