We are so glad we called Hamden Paving Co. to redo our driveway. If we could give six stars we would. They are real craftsmen. Propositional in every way. The crew worked together like they knew just what the others were doing all the time. Very efficient, no yelling, no swearing, and they all seamed to really enjoy what they were doing. Perhaps the easiest Tradesmen with whom I have ever worked. Polite, articulate and professional to the max! It was obvious that they care about their work and take pride in the work and outcome. While installing a new driveway can be a hassle, it was absolutely wonderful working with these Tradesmen. The new driveway is pitched perfectly for drainage, it has held up well and looks great. It is good to see Tradesmen who know their trade, can speak about it easily with customers and who still value quality work done right the first time. I would definitely recommend Hamden Paving to anyone looking to have a new driveway installed.

Communication during the bidding process was our only problem. Once we were given the best number to call, everything went very smoothly. Their price was the best of three estimates we received. Three generations were on the job each day--the founder, his son and current owner Joe, and young Anthony. We were happy to patronize a family business located in our neighborhood. The job was begun soon after we made our decision and completed in a timely manner. They were responsive to requests along the way and even installed new timbers along the driveway to accommodate the new height for just the cost of the materials.

This is one of the best contractors I have ever hired. Their price is very fair, they are very punctual and reliable. They even did little extra things that came up without an additional charge.

Driveway and patio looks great 2 years later. I would highly recommend this company. We are very satisfied. We have had no problems with the work. We hope to call them back to re-surface the area before winter sets in to preserve the driveway.

They were very good and I would recommend them anytime. They were neat and did a great job. They came when they said they were going to and finished when they said they were going to. They were courteous and everything was good. They did a very good job and I have no complaints. It has held up very well.

I would recommend them. They've done a lot of work in my neighborhood. It's a local guy. They were very prompt. He did the job in 2 stages. They started in early spring. They put the aggregate down on the driveway and let it sit for about a month before they put the asphalt on. They just did an excellent job.

Hamden Paving is a small family operation. The person you speak with is the person who does the work, so there is no confusion about what is to be done. They were very pleasant at every stage of the job and did excellent work throughout. They were willing to adjust their schedule to accommodate other work we were having done. They were very careful not to dig beyond the lines we had painted to protect existing plantings. The new driveway is well graded, and is level with the garage, sidewalk, and side ramp. Cleanup was excellent. My only negative comment is that it often took them a couple of days to return calls. They called a couple of days before showing up, as promised. We are very happy with the driveway, and recommended Hamden Paving to one of our neighbors.

We called them in the fall of 2009. They came immediately and gave an estimate in line with other estimates we received. They put down the aggregate within a week and regraded the driveway ,thus solving our drainage problem and returned in the early spring and re-compacted the aggregate and asphalting the driveway. They waited until spring per our request due to our concern over the drainage issue. They were prompt,explained everything clearly and did a fine job.

We have a very narrow space between our chimney and the neighbor's fence. No company was able to get a truck through a space that was so small, and it had to be hand-rolled. Hamden Paving was the only company we could find that would do this for us. Altogether they did a fine job, the driveway looks good.
