He was very professional, and did a great job. They finished the job in less a day and the price was reasonable.

Here’s something fun to try: give Don a tour of your house and show him all of those problem areas that painting/spackling/carpentry could help. Then give him your keys and go out of town for a few days. When you come home, you’ll feel like the recipient of a home makeover from one of those HGTV shows. We just hired DMZ for a second time and were amazed by the transformation. Highly recommend!

Don was fantastic throughout the experience. He immediately got in touch with me (while he was away on vacation) and then came to the house and provided a quote on the spot after talking through the project with me. The prep work and attention he pays is impressive and it shows in the finished product. He was so easy to work with, he made recommendations when I asked including light carpentry work that he suggested and did himself. He will connect you with other skilled trades if you ask him and overall just wants to be as helpful as possible. I would recommend him to anyone and could not be happier with the outcome of the project, it far exceeded my expectations.

Excellent! Don was professional, friendly, reasonably priced and very easy to work with. One of the rooms I asked him to paint needed an incredible amount of prep work and he was very meticulous and thorough. Everything came out even better than I imagined! An excellent painter and a really nice guy, I would hire Don again in an instant for any other painting needs.

Don painstakingly prepared our rooms in advance of painting. He caulked where needed, filled in gaps, and even made several repairs along the way, including securing the baseboard heating in spots where it had come loose. It is sometimes said that preparation is far more than 50% of a great paint job, and Don takes the prep to heart. Don also offered some suggestions that we liked and which made the final result even better. The rooms are gorgeous thanks to Don's talents. In addition, he is a really nice guy who is easy to work with. I doubt that I would have discovered DMZ if I hadn't joined Angie's List, so I am grateful to Angie's List for helping me find Don & DMZ. I will contact DMZ for all future interior paint jobs.

Don did an amazing job for us; the house, which was built in the 70's, feels fresh and new inside. He's meticulous in his attention to detail and extremely knowledgeable. He worked with us to get the result we wanted, keeping in mind our concerns about budget. (His estimate was also significantly lower than the other we received.) Our goal was to make the house as appealing as possible to prospective buyers, and Don was a huge help in choosing paint colors that show off the rooms to their best advantage, yet still staying within a relatively neutral range so the colors should work for new owners, whatever their decor. I'd recommend him without reservation, especially to anyone who is repainting prior to putting their house on the market--he knows his stuff and is a pleasure to work with.

Don and Zak did a very good job with the spackling and painting we requested. They were both very courteous and cleaned up nicely after completing the painting. We were also happy with the price they charged.

After contacting DMZ Painting we received a call back promptly. Don showed up on time for the estimate and also made suggestions that were in line with our decor. Don made a recommendation for a accent color wall that we hadn't thought of. Don coordinated with a sheet rock contractor for the ceiling, equally reliable and professional. Don explained what would be done, the time frame and price. The job was done professionally as explained. The job took 3 days and the area was spotless at the end of each day. We are asking Don to do more projects. We are totally pleased with DMZ Painting !

Don did an excellent job. He is meticulous in his workmanship and left our home spotless after many days of painting. He was considerate of our schedules, provided suggestions for future projects, and even snow plowed our driveway and walk knowing that we were away. His son assisted with some of the painting and also did a great job, and was very nice. Don is professional and conscientious; we would definitely rehire him.

Excellent job in two days completed both rooms: walls, ceiling, woodwork, doors etc. Very proactive painter who made suggestions that really had significant impact on the finished job. Will use Dan and Zack in the future. They took the time to properly prepare the walls and woodwork. They started on time and worked throughout the days. They removed a heavy duty wooden "built in" shelf from the previous owners and then plastered the walls so that no trace of prior shelves is evident. Best of the best in our opinion.

Came on time. Work required extensive preparation of the wall surfaces. Work was done carefully and results were excellent.

Don gave a fair estimate and started the job the same day. He finished the job in 3 days! He was very friendly and knowledgable. The bathroom walls are now smooth and look perfect! His work shows great attention to detail and he even cleaned up the area before leaving each day. I would recommend him very highly and plan to call him for any future painting.

Don and his son Zack were super! They were punctual, neat and very knowledgeable about the work I needed done. The estimate they gave me was fair and was what they charged at the end of the work. I had one very laborious job, scraping, priming and painting all my hot water radiators throughout the house. Zack drew the short straw on that one and did a wonderful job. Don and Zack even pointed out some small minor repairs that they volunteered to do as they worked at no extra charge. After the work was completed one job looked like it needed a little extra attention to make it acceptable. Don returned quickly and gladly performed the extra work that was needed. I will definitely keep their phone number handy for future jobs.

DMZ provided great service in a timely and friendly way. He started the project while we were on vacation and took very good care of our home while we were away. He also was very nice to our cat! The workmanship is unbelievable. Every detail was addressed and he left our home clean. He even suggested a color that was perfect. We love our new kitchen and will use him again for all of our painting projects. Highly recommended.

Don was extremely pleasant, responsive, professional, and a joy! Anyone who is in need of a professional painter who shows up when they say they will and does a fabulous job should hire DMZ Painting. Also, because I was having some additional work done, soon after the painting was completed, Don called me back and asked if I needed any touch up, in case some of the other workers had made marks on the new paint job!!!! Wow!!

Don was terrific. So professional, responsive, and great ideas. Unfortunately, he was too busy to take the job on, but immediately referred us to an outstanding colleague. We feel really lucky to have gotten hold of Don, and wish we could have used him.

Fantastic. Don gave the best estimate he could not knowing exactly how much labor would be involved in the wallpaper removal. He came in under budget and accomplished more with his crew in four days than we could have expected. He even tolerated me, my wife, and father and law puttering around and he taught me a bunch about painting and preparing surfaces so that we can try some work in the future if we want. And when we screw up and hire him to fix it he'll be good humored about it. Just an incredibly pleasant guy who lives in the area and wants other peoples' houses to look great. Doesn't do anything halfway. Oh, and his cost was less than half of other quotes. We'll be hiring him again very soon.

Don is one of the more professional contractors out there. We called for a quote and Don called back the next day. He came to our house on the date set gave use a quote which we accepted from several we had from others. Don & his guys were all polite neat and professional also. We had several rooms and hallways painted walls & ceilings. Don spent a lot of time with my wife deciding on colors and finishes with all attention paid to my wife's ideas. With no hesitation would I hire him again.

.Don and his son completed two rooms for us - Dining room and Living room. We have an older home and a few issues were needing repairs on the older plaster walls, but these were handled in an excellent manner. The ceilings also had a grid pattern which required extensive prep work and attention to detail. My wife and I could not be happier with the results and the work done by Don and his son. The only thing I can say is that this paint job was superbly done with care and attention to detail. It was obvious to us that Don takes great pride and care with his work and the results were truly better than we had expected or anticipated. The job was time consuming and as with any paint job, the prep work is key and is critical. This was done carefully and with great attention to detail. Don and his son Zach are both extremely professional, respectful and all around great folks. They take great care in their craft and truly go the extra mile to please - they were careful to make sure we were totally happy and comfortable with the end result. My wife and I enjoyed having them in our home and felt completely comfortable leaving them while we were in and out. I would gladly use Don again for any future painting jobs and plan to do so. The cost was not cheap, but the results were exceptional and I would gladly pay for superior work man ship over the average job (or worse) that is so often common. If you are needing a superior painting job by someone who is top notch at his craft, (as well as an all around great guy to chat with), I would contact Don without hesitation. This is an A+++ provider.

Don was marvelous to deal with giving us a fair price and was very reliable. He kept in touch with us in the weeks preceding the job. He is meticulous and does a great job prepping what was a very difficult wall. What more could a customer ask for: excellent work, fair price and a heck of a nice guy to boot! Don Fritz is the best painter I have ever used. It was a very, very involved job because he even did the ceilings and got inside the light fixtures; it wasn't an easy job and he worked like a dog. He did a beautiful job. He is absolutely the best painter I've ever had in my life and I would recommend him anywhere.

DMZ Painting made our house a HOME! Don made us feel very comfortable thanks to his professionalism and easy going personality. We never felt pressured to do anything we didn't want to do which is always really nice! It is great to know that there are people like Don and Zach that you can trust in your home while you aren't there. They did a beautiful job with our dining room, living room, hallways/trim and doors. I even asked Don to help us polish up our nursery which my husband and I were almost done with. After Don put his finishing touch to it...it is the nursery we've always dreamed of! We actually furnished it the very next day!
